YES THE GAME AND WATCH IS BACK
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the Nintendo - Game & Watch Super Mario Bros. This is definitely a blast from the past and I knew this was popular in the 80's (which in the time I wasn't alive) but it is great to know and actually experience something that was from before and in a new way. I love all the animations on the watch and all the buttons are amazing, The buttons do not feel like it was cheaply made. There is lots of quality going into the device. I also love it how you can pause and take a break without losing your progress. Great Job Nintendo.

Very Good, If You're Into This Sort of Thing
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. An neat little thing. Feels premium, with a solid build and packaging that oozes charm. The games are stretched to 4:3 and that can't be adjusted, which I don't like, but the picture quality itself is good enough that it's not an issue at all. It's nice and crisp. But it should be noted that it's a collectible first and a way to play games second. It doesn't hold its value if you look at it as a portable gaming console, but as a novelty for Mario enthusiasts it's great. The lack of a stand is a bit disappointing as well but it's a minor issue all things considered.

Nintendo History in Your Pocket
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really fun throwback to the 1980s Game and Watches. However, now they have LCD screens, backlight, and full NES era games. The downside is the screen is small. It's more of a collectible, or for those who are nostalgic for the 1980s devices. It is a really fun idea to bring them back, but most won't want to buy it to game on more than a few minutes here or there. The other thing I'd knock it for slightly is the price. It's a tad expensive for what it is. I'm glad I got it on a sale. Fun piece of history.

Good for Mario fans
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product was very small, a cellphone has a bigger screen. I do think it was overpriced because its old school Mario. With that being said, my daughter loves it and it’s easy to bring everywhere. She also has a 3ds but I think this is low maintenance so it stays charged longer. I only give it 5 stars because we do get plenty of use from it.

Cool toy, too expensive, but worthwhile curio
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a terrific little handheld with some charming surprises and artwork built in. This is 100% the original NES SMB, not the Super Mario 35 with the bouncier physics. It does have a nice “unlimited lives” cheat which is helpful, since I’ve always had trouble finishing this game. However, SMB 2 does live up to its legacy as being crazy difficult, so I was only able to put up with it for so long, but it’s still a fun little time capsule. Nice build, heft. A cool toy. A little too expensive though, let’s be honest about that.

Blast from the past
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A trip down memeory lane with a modern twist. This is based on the old game and watch series, but now comes with the original Super Mario Bros and the lost levels. The old cup and ball game is included too. The games are classics so you know what you're getting and this thing is really small. Fun that first in your pocket. A great Nintendo collectible.

An Awesome Collector's Piece!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really cool collector's item! Keep in mind, though, that that is exactly what it is: a collector's item. It definitely plays Super Mario Bros. well! But if you just wanna play Mario, there are many cheaper ways. But as a piece of Nintendo history for fanatics and collectors, this thing is awesome, well-built, and plays well!

Fun little Collector Item
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s surprisingly well made for what it is. And a great call back to the days of the original game and watches. The Mario games and Ball are still fun, and the Time clock is very cool. Would love to just plug this thing in and leave it somewhere as a clock. It’s a great collectors piece for Mario’s 35th anniversary.

That nostalgic feeling!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This little piece of nostalgia is a great collector's item for Nintendo fans! The screen is little but crystal clear. The whole thing is wonderfully designed and I use it even as decoration for my gaming room. It has that old school retro feel to it. It's just another wonderful way to play the original mario :)

The Game & Watch Series Continues!
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very cool item. The storied history of the Game & Watch series continues into the present with Super Mario Bros. You already know the game, and, yes, you can easily get it cheaper, but not as a piece of Nintendo history. The clock itself is also quite fun!

Fun Toy
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fun little reboot! I love the Mario Games and the battery lasts awhile. Controls are tiny but good enough to play in my opinion. Great to have bedside or to take with you. Just wish it came with a case. I use an old sunglasses satchel for mine.

Nostalgia
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As someone who had an original game and watch back in the 80's, this was an impulse nostalgia purchase. Granted that the game and watch that I had originally received as a child was the dual screen Donkey Kong one, it's still great to see Nintendo release this. Gone is the monochrome screen that my original one had. This is a fully colored screen, and similar controls to the original. The pad itself looks like an old school NES (Nintendo Entertainment System - 1980's) controller. There are some quality of life improvements such as volume, brightness, battery indicator, and it charges via a USB-C cable. The packaging is great! The games included are the original Super Mario Bros, the Lost Levels, and Ball, which is a very old school looking juggling game. All in all, I love the effort Nintendo put into releasing something so retro. The build quality is definitely there. The colors of the small handheld pop, and it's definitely worth picking up for people who grew up with game and watches, and for those who just love retro games.

Great little piece of nostalgia
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nintendo knows how to weaponize nostalgia and this little game & watch is aimed right at those of us who grew up with Super Mario Bros. on the NES. The device itself is well constructed of plastic and aluminum to mimic the original Famicom colors. The screen is bright and the games are easy to see. The d-pad is a classic NES d-pad but the buttons are a squishy rubber. If you’re using it for a quick Mario fix it’s probably fine, but I wouldn’t consider this comfortable for longer gaming sessions. If you grew up with these games it’s a great little piece of nostalgia. That being said the Mario games have been made available numerous times overs the years in different collections and the other game included here is Ball...so yeah, if you’ve had enough of Mario and aren’t excited over Ball, this may not be for you. This is aimed at collectors and Nintendo fans. Either of those will probably be very happy with the Game & Watch. It’s a unique little collectors item to celebrate 35 years of Mario.

Awesome handheld and must own for Mario fans
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This little device is a must own for a Nintendo and Mario fan. This is such a cool handheld. It has the vibrant color display and the fact that it can be used as a clock is awesome. I wish they came with a stand though to use It as a desk clock. I might have to make one myself.

Fine for games, not a great "watch"
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Playing Super Mario Bros and the original SMB2 (known to most as "The Lost Levels" on the go is pretty nice, the controls work well, even if the buttons are a touch on the mushy side. The clock is very entertaining to watch, especially as other Mushroom Kingdom residents appear at various points during the day. There are cute little touches hidden throughout the experience that I won't spoil here. The three games are what you'd expect and faithfully represented, glitches and all...I was able to enter level -1 in SMB as expected. I enjoy that each of the three games and clock all have their own independent volume/brightness settings and the games will save your progress so you can pick up and play whenever you like. As nice as it is as a GAME player, it really misses the mark as an actual WATCH...After 3 minutes (unless it's plugged in), the device will go into rest mode and shut off the screen until the Power button (and ONLY the Power button) is pressed. I understand that a backlit LCD will drain battery, but it really would be nice to just glance at it as a timepiece. In addition, the Game and Watch does not contain an alarm function, making the "Watch" feature a novelty at best, but not really much else. It's a shame, because this would have been a charming to have while travelling, but as a timepiece, it isn't very useful.

An effective homage to Mario and the Game & Watch.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Mario 35th Anniversary Game & Watch is effectively a compact yet bountiful homage to the original Game & Watch system. The device is a lot smaller than the photos suggest, yet it does not hinder the enjoyment of the device. The LED screen looks very nice, the speaker plays loudly and accurately, and the controls feel very clean. This device has many hidden features and Easter eggs too. As a hint: If you hold the ‘A’ button down for 5 seconds when starting a play session on the original Super Mario game, you will obtain infinite lives. These kinds of details are what draws Nintendo fans like me to relish in their rich history throughout gaming. For any fan looking to add to their collection, here is your gateway drug. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

A very nice, fun collectable from Nintendo.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this Super Mario Game & Watch for a little over a month so far, and it is a very nice way to pass the time. For its small size, it has a very sharp and bright screen. Only 3 games, but with Super Mario Bros. 1 and 2, plus Ball, they are quite fun to play. Also love the watch mode, with Mario counting the time as it passes. Battery life seems pretty decent too, although that will depend on the screen brightness, and how often you play it. I've played it a few times so far, and have only charged it once to date. It includes a micro-USB cable to charge it with. I do think Nintendo could have done something like price it at $35 for Mario's 35th anniversary, but I'm not really complaining, as it does still seem to be a pretty good value overall, especially when you consider its potential collector status down the road. Overall, a great job from Nintendo.

Delightful piece of Mario Memorabilia
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fun little clock that can also play games. I have this hooked up to my switch dock so that the screen can stay turned on 24/7. Acts as a clock in my TV media cabinet. Next to my mariokart live kart haha.
