Even though I was born in the early 90s, I still remember shopping in thrift stores as a kid and finding old Game & Watches for dollars. I never imagined I'd be paying $50 for one nearly 20 years later. This thing exists purely for nostalgic reasons, nothing more. Nobody is going to seriously use this in place of a phone or watch, nor do I think it will be anyone's preferred way to play the beloved Super Mario Bros. game, yet, despite all this, the novelty alone is enough to sell me on it. The quality of the device itself is impeccable as most Nintendo hardware tends to be and the packaging is beautiful.

Face value, it's exactly what it says it is - OG Mario. But to answer the real question - yes, it is hackable. However, the USB port is for charging only, so if you're going to get on the homebrew side of things, you have to open it and connect straight to the board. Not easy, but there are already guides out there on everything. If you take it that route it is an extremely light, small, NES emulator. Of course, if that's all you're looking for, $50 is a bit steep. Same if you just want to play SMB on the go. For this price, it's only worth it if you're a collector, or going to make a project of it.

Portable Mario games to play on the go and a collectible item all in one. Would recommend for all ages, previous fans and new fans alike.

If you love Mario and appreciate Nintendo's earliest hand held device, the Super Mario Bros. Game & Watch system is definitely not one to miss. Fantastic replication of the original Game & Watch toy, but improves with modern day technology: a bright and colorful LCD screen, and uses a USB-C port for charging. The clock functions as necessary and comes with cute additives if you are paying attention. If you haven't had enough of Super Mario Bros., here's another product that has this game. Again, solid Mario item for Mario 35th anniversary and Mario enthusiasts.

Excellent product and great quality. Nintendo hit another home run with this! Small and compact so it’s able to easily fit in your pocket. Great to play on the go.

Fun for a little, but I wish it had more games. This is definitely better as a collectors item. The quality is great and it looks really great. I wish there was a way to keep the clock on all the time and I also wish it came with a stand. Otherwise you get what you expect here.

How much enjoyment you get out of this will depend on how much you like the original Super Mario Bros.. The system itself is very well made, and the screen looks great, but it is VERY small. I would have liked this thing a bit more if it were just a little bit bigger.

This is a very nicely designed handheld game. Works and looks great and even the clock option is fun to watch. A lot of built in secrets to discover as well.

Introduced my kids to Super Mario Bros. Unit is smaller than I thought, but it works great for kids smaller hands. We've had a lot of games and fun together. Really like the rechargeable battery and included charging cable. We've used on trips and it helps everyone's sanity!

Most would probably say the price isn't worth what it can do but if you are a true fan it won't matter. Plays all 3 games fine, and the clock functions are cute.

this is really a fun little system for playing on the go! The battery life is really good also! Something tells me it will be a collectors item soon!

A fun little device that harkens back to Nintendo’s first steps into the video game market with the Game and Watch. A fun way to play the first 2 Mario Games and the original Game and Watch game, ball. You can tell that a lot of care went into making this device, it it really sleek and has a lot of neat details, like the clock feature with all its Easter eggs. A Legend of Zelda Game and Watch is coming out soon that has even more content comparatively than the Mario one, so that’s something really cool to look forward to as well.

This is amazing retro little system!!! I wish they make a gameboy mini! the screen is impressive and bright and its so easy to place in your pocket! i love it

Bought this for our 11 year old. He loves anything Nintendo. He likes that it’s nostalgic. It features the original Super Mario Bros and the Lost Levels.

Love it! It’s a lot smaller than I thought it would be but it plays the games great and the screen is gorgeous. Just get it. Who doesn’t love classic Mario?!

Being old enough to have owned many of the original Game and Watch systems, along with a lot of the knock offs, I couldn't turn down the opportunity to try this system. Lets get the bad out of the way first, this system is probably over priced for what it is. Then again, Nintendo knows it audience (and knows how to play on their nostalgia for everything classic Nintendo) and they knew they wouldn't have any problem selling these devices for $50. That out of the way, the packaging and build quality are great. I am no expert but I thought the emulation of the games is spot on.

Fun toy and collectors item. If you’re a Nintendo fan, you gotta get this. If not, pass on it. It’s a great display piece and is fun to pick up and play.

This is so much fun to play with. It looks great and plays wonderfully. Every Nintendo fan should have this in their collection. I highly recommend it.

I never owned any of the original Game & Watch but this little sucker feels great. It feels really sturdy in the hands and the screen is really crisp. The little handheld includes the original NES, Super Mario bros. and the original Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2, otherwise known here in the states as "The Lost Levels" and not the turnip tossing Super Mario Bros. 2 that was originally released here in the states. It also includes a basic game & watches game called "Ball" Definitely a nice little addition to any gaming library.

Small enough to fit in my pocket. Love playing my old Mario games. Thought it was bigger but I'm use to it now.
