Customers are pleased with the Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. for its nostalgic value, portability, and long battery life. They appreciate it as a collectible item and a fun gift. Some customers, however, find the screen to be small and the price to be high. There are also complaints about the limited number of games available on the device and the lack of a kickstand.

Introduced my kids to Super Mario Bros. Unit is smaller than I thought, but it works great for kids smaller hands. We've had a lot of games and fun together. Really like the rechargeable battery and included charging cable. We've used on trips and it helps everyone's sanity!

First of all, this thing is small. The screen feels only a little larger than a postage stamp. I guess I was expecting something more along the line of the size of a Gameboy screen. Gameplay is actually easy, and the controls are responsive, but not sure why someone would want to play these games on such a small screen when there are other ways to play them. This turns out to be more of a novelty that will likely end up sitting in a drawer after a couple of weeks. There’s no way to add games, so once you’re done, you’re done. I think $50 is a bit much for this item. If it were around $30, it would make a good stocking stuffer.

Great collectors item! Also great to use as a novelty clock. I don't know how much I would seriously play Mario on it, but otherwise it's one to get!

Bought this for our 11 year old. He loves anything Nintendo. He likes that it’s nostalgic. It features the original Super Mario Bros and the Lost Levels.

Love it! It’s a lot smaller than I thought it would be but it plays the games great and the screen is gorgeous. Just get it. Who doesn’t love classic Mario?!

A Fantastic Novelty

An amazing Game & Watch system that doesn’t feel out of place next to some of the original units that I still own; there was clearly a lot of effort and passion that went into this. The technology is obviously much more modern with a full color display with two full NES titles and a USB-C rechargeable battery, and they work fantastic. I just wish it had a built-in kickstand like the original units had, which means you have to either make your own or find a custom one elsewhere, but otherwise a fantastic little novelty to celebrate 35 years of Super Mario Bros.

High quality piece of kit from Nintendo. Always nice to keep on the bed stand to knock out a few levels of Super Mario Bros. before falling asleep!

The actual build is very lite yet effective for a handheld device. Nintendo excels at making nostalgic retro handhelds and this is no different.

When I was a little kid (in the 80's) I tried to steal a Game & Watch from a small store in NYC. I got busted by my mother and she humiliated me in front of the owner. I gave it back. I was 5 or 6 years old. I learned a lesson.
Many years have passed since then. I own this item. I won't open it so I can't tell too much about it. I used to own a NES in the mid-80's. I don't like playing old 8 bit video games because I live in the future. I've been gaming since the faux woodgrain Atari was a thing.

I was introduced to the Game & Watch in the early to mid 80s at my cousins' house. They also had an Atari 2600. The first proper game console we ever got at home was the NES I think, and that meant a lot of time logged with SMB. This product, oh man... it really brings me back, and makes me happy. I'm glad I scored one at MSRP, and I can't wait to see what else they bring out in this Game & Watch format over the coming years, as more classic titles turn 35. I will probably collect a lot of them!

Better than expected. It's the real game with good sound and great picture. Very fun to play. Everybody should own one.
The people complaining that they can't see the screen must be blind. I can see the screen easily from 20 feet away and read the clock.
The price is reasonable for that you get. The battery life seems to be pretty good. You can save your game play and also get infinite life's with a simple code. You can warp to any world after you beat it, by, simply holding down B at the main menu.

More than a nostalgia gimmick.

This device is more than just a nostalgia gimmick amid the recent next-gen consoles releases. Sure, this can't compete with them, but it wasn't meant to compete against any next or even current-ten consoles. This little device encapsulates the essence of what made gaming great in the first place; it's a revisitation of Nintendo's glory days as they single-handedly saved a dying video game industry in the 80s. You could own history books that detail video game history or you could own of these beautiful devices that pay homage to both "Super Mario Bros." and Nintendo's first voyage into the video game industry with their "Game & Watch."
The device itself comes in a highly portable size that is reminiscent of the critically underrated (albeit understandable) Gameboy Advance Micro, but its screen size is bigger and brighter. It certainly doesn't put too much strain on the eyes. I won't speak about build quality or other technicalities, but the G&W certainly feels as a product of the 2020s where mass production is chosen over legacy quality (it's not a premium device, but it doesn't feel cheap either).
You'll enjoy this little gadget and it is the perfect gift for the holidays. Nothing beats having an isolated gaming system without need to connect to the internet or create accounts, etc. It's just a ready-to-play console with one of the greatest classics in history. I have honestly been playing with it everyday since I go it, even if it's for a few minutes. If you do beat it, you'll probably feel any "Souls" game is a stroll in the park compared to this classic...

Would be 5 stars but it's a wee bit smaller than I thought but overall its adorable. Love all the games but the clock now I find the animated clock to be the BEST feature of this and overall for nostalgia purposes it definitely brings back memories!

Battery life is insane. Haven't had to charge it yet since getting it. Yeah it's a little expensive but it's a fun nostalgia trip.
