If you want a dash cam, this is the one to get. Great picture quality and easy to set up and use. It also has good voice guality. All you need in a good cam.

With the 32 MG card it records more than 5 hours. Works well with the computer with Win 8.1 and installation in the car is simple. I also ordered the longer 3 meter power cord for aesthetic purposes. I don't think the manual covers the button functions as related to their position on the camera. Maybe that's because of age, 77. I ordered after incidents of cars making left turns as I was turning right. One was a police car in no particular hurry; only defensive driving saved a collision. Now I'll have a record of the incident. And maybe a comet if I'm lucky.

I like the dash cam it is small and barely noticeable. The detection system is good a little over sensitive but a great feature. The battery life is terrible and it has to stayed plugged in all the time.

I did some research on dashcams. My research led me to the Garmin Dash Cam 20. It is everything as advertised. The 1080P video is excellent quality. With the suction cup mount it is easily removed and transferred from vehicle to vehicle. This model is unfortunately being discontinued so I would recommend grabbing one while they are still available.

Already had a dash cam, but bought this one because of the built-in GPS that records the position, date, and time where the video was recorded. Works great, and the video quality is good.

Ok...I now have been using this camera in my unmarked patrol unit for about five weeks and it is absolutely outstanding! The video quality is great as are the still pictures - high quality!! I knew the video quality was supposed to be good but I was surprised on how good it is. It is right up there with the Watch Guard systems used in our marked units. The sound (interior only) is also good. Maybe future iteration of the camera can have a wireless microphone option. Bottom line - EXCELLENT little camera. Recommend you purchase the extra long power cord from Garmin too. The 32 GB micro SD card is the way to go. Mine is a Samsung purchased at Best Buy.

My wife and I both use this unit, depending on who's going where. It's very easy to move between cars. Coupled with an SD card to store your video in 4 minute segment. When the card fills up it start writing over at the beginning. Any "event" marks a segment so it doesn't get written over before you view it. Comes with software for easily viewing the time- stamped segments or you can just import the SD data and use Media Player or whatever you aleady have installed. There is also a button on the unit that takes a snapshot at any time. This unit does everything you'll need. I purchased a 32 Gb card to replace the 4 Gb card that comes in the unit. Not a necessity, just wanted to store some extra footage. Unit works well in any light and the footage is good quality for playback.

Because it's a Garmin product, having a built in GPS really helps. It's a dash-cam: it does what it's supposed to, and the G-force sensor is a great added bonus for such a camera from a reliable brand. I do wish however, that the accessories from Garmin were more than plastic, cheap afterthoughts. The suction cup isn't the best quality one around, and having such an expensive, windshield-mounted device just fall off is never a good thing. Fortunately all the accessory parts are standard Garmin fare, so you can easily find better replacements for them.

Easy to use like all garmin products. uses same update program as gps. ready right out of box. easy to extract videos and photos. price is to high.

There were some cheaper brands available when I was searching for a recorder; however, it wasn't exactly "cheap" that I wanted -- what interested me was having a recorder that wasn't boxy and fussy to use -- and one that would be durable enough to not break within a year or two. After a month of owning this device, I can say I've had no problems with it, and installing it was a cinch. I would choose Garmin over any other brand and would pay the extra costs involved just to have the benefits of ease of use and durability.

This unit captures up to 10 hours of video depending on your memory card. Much less with the one included. Its a continual loop so you always have the last few minutes to hours recorded. If anything unusual that affects the cars direction or speed more than normal driving should, the segment being recorded is permanently (unless you delete it) saved. I normally forget its there so that's ideal. It starts and turns of whenever you start the car or turn it off. The mounting system is inflexible and could be easily improved to improve location, and the power cord is a cosmetic distraction. A rechargeable battery with at least 24 hours of life would help.

If only the software was as easy and as nice as the camera. I paid extra for a brand-name model with GPS data so I thought it would be easy to see your trips on a map. Not so much. There is other software to try. As far as the operation of the camera itself, it's flawless. Night video nothing special but broad daylight it's nice HD with natural color. Mike is very sensitive. You won't believe how often you sing in your car.

Quality of the dash cam is great, easy to install and use. Only wish is that it had an on/off switch in the power cord.

pictures are great day and night. I have tried many cheap dash camera. none of them can compete with this one. instructions are simple and easy to set up. repeat recording save you from reformat. it's good to have it just in case.

Works great in the car. Its small and does a great job recording while I drive. The GPS is a bonus that I use once in a while and its nice not to have to use your phone all the time.

Had a friend who was hit by a board that came off a truck that he was following on the fla. turnpike. The board hit his vehicle in the grill and caused $400.00 damage. If he had a dash cam. he would have had a record of the event and a better chance of getting some kind of settlement. Thats the main reason i got the camera.

I recently purchase this dash cam because I needed it for the type of work I do. I must say I am impressed with it so far. You will never find the "Perfect" dash cam, but this is pretty close to it. My only gripe is the videos don't erase after the camera shuts off, which takes up the memory. I still have yet to play around with it more so no telling. So far I am very pleased with this device and for the cost I paid.

Got this for my husband for Christmas. So far he loves it. Loves that it is compact and doesn't take up a lot of windshield space and very easy to use.

I had tried a cheap off-brand one I bought online and the thing was worthless so I went for the Garmin and wasn't disappointed. The video quality is excellent and so is the audio. It will come off a hot windshield if left in the vehicle that way so I routinely take it down. So far no problems with it at all.

I bought two of these dash cams, one for me and another one for my father. I bought multiple dash cams before, all from different manufacturers. I've had this dash cam for more than a month now and I've never had an issue with it. The quality is great, even the videos captured during nigh time. It's a lot pricier compared to the other dash cams I've bought in the past, but you do pay for quality. This is simply the best dash cam in the market imho.
