My second attempt to find the perfect dash cam. Read a lot of reviews about the Garmin dash cam prior to my purchase. The 'other' dash cam I purchased did not stand up to the quality of the Garmin cam. Happy with my purchase so far.

The camera was pretty easy to setup and stayed attached to the windshield well. The quality of the video was pretty good and it was fine for my purposes

I decided to purchase this camera before going on vacations. I helped that Best Buy had it on sale. The discounted price made my decision a no brainer. The camera is small and easy to install and setup. Really, it is plug-and-play camera right out of the box. Unpack, install, connect, and you are set. It starts recording as you start your auto and stops recording when you turn off your auto. I purchased 32GB SD memory because I wanted to record lots of highway hours. The default resolution is 1080p. I tested recording at 720p to be able to fit more hours in the same memory. Even though 720p resolutions is good, I ended up recording only on 1080p and replacing the SD memory card after five to six hours. After a round trip Texas-Florida, I have some interesting videos of agressive drivers cutting in front of me on purpose and lots of near misses captured from the traffic in front of me. I wonder what they would say if they knew their childish actions where recorded on camera. I checked the camera using 64GB SD memory. The camera can record to it, but the file system is set to 32GB maximum. So, there is no value in installing a larger capacity than 32GB SD memory as GARMIN sets as maximum capacity. This camera deserves five stars. It does its job very well and video is not choppy at all for being that small. You can see fluid video of the traffic going across when you are at a stop light. Yes, the software you need to download from GARMIN is also very good. When you replay your video clips, the car is shown on the map. There is no way to question your position before a collision with another car. It is all there: GPS position, vehicle speed, and traveling direction. The question now is how to make a discrete installation of this camera in your car to avoid a possible break-in. I need to to more thinking on that or maybe someone will post some ideas.

Love my camera! Great quality, just wish it front n back facing, I just use the swivel when I need to. Even records how fast you're driving.

When I play the file on my PC using any software, the image is not synchronized with the sound. Also the software they provide (Garmin\GDCPlayer) doesn't work.
