My favorite thing about this camera is the size. It’s extremely small but packs a great punch! Super clear video and pictures! Very user friendly. Highly recommend for the price.

This was my first time ever installing a dash cam
In my tenth generation civic and it couldn’t have been easier. I watched videos online of this camera before I bought it so I could watch videos of someone else installing it and then I mirrored what they did.
Note: make sure you use the usb cable that comes with the garmin for any firmware updates or getting the videos off the sd card. Note I am using a 50GB card in my camera and it works great.
The travelapse feature is RICH and sick when you check out the video. Note while it has wifi and there is an app you will get the content faster if you use the cable and plug into the computer. Faster transfers

Perfect miniature size, excellent picture quality and works really well with the Garmin app. This is a must buy at this price point, it’s most likely better than ones costing much more.

After hearing a story from a friend that was blamed for rear ending someone that backed into the front of his car and having no proof, I said maybe I should invest in a dash cam. I was familiar with the Garmin brand and felt that their reputation was worth giving this camera a try. I really like it. Nice features, affordable price and really good app that easily transfers video from the camera to your phone.

This by far is way better than what I expected. It tells you if you are too close to a vehicle. It tells you when a light is about to turn red, it tells you that you have approached a curve lane. It’s a must have!

This dashcam makes those unbelievable stories believable. I was able to capture a wreck in my first few weeks of ownership. I'm not sure what the deal is with other reviewers, but it may take 30 seconds-1 minute to download a clip. I bought this dashcam as supplemental insurance and I can't imagine going without it now.
@BestBuy, you should really allow for video uploads.

This camera is so compact, and excellent in so many ways.
Pros:
App is stable and works (Android 10)
Adhesive mount with magnetic removable camera for convenience
Change settings through phone app
Voice controls for saving a video to permanent in case of incident. You can also take pictures via voice. It's super effective and fast, and allows you to take a license plate without using your hands
Lane drifting and collision alarm.
Traffic is moving - I think this feature is dumb, but I guess if you text at stoplights, it will tell you when the light is green and people move in front of you.
Cons -
The app can sometimes be finicky. Fixed by resetting Bluetooth settings on phone after updating the firmware through the app
I've tried a number of dashcam and this is the best band for the buck. Super easy interface and installation.

Great small dash camera. Hides behind my rear view mirror.
Most dash cameras have about equal video quality for fps and pixels. The better videos are due to better hardware. Garmin uses pretty good hardware. Can not beat it for price.
Also, the app makes it easy to group cameras together.

I drive semi truck and I've owned several dash cams and they all seem to end up doing one thing after about three months of use they end up just dying. So I owned the 40 version of this dash cam and that lasted about three and a half months turned it on one day and the screen was upside down with lines through it. But when it was working it was one of the best dash cams I had so I saw this 46 and the upgraded options were really nice so I figured what the heck I'll give it a try. So far I love it voice commands to have a record and stop recording Say videos. The video quality is outstanding. This one did not come with a memory card so you'll have to have at least a 4 gig memory card you can pick one up for like 8 bucks in Best Buy the memory card that is. I think what I'm going to do is take it out of my Dash is it comes with a magnetic mount for the windshield when not in use and keep an eye out of the Heat and see if maybe that'll help further the lifespan of this dash cam. When I bought this I paid the same price I would have for the 45 which was a step down from this when it did not have voice commands and I think the video quality was lesser. I can highly recommend this ask him like I said I've only probably 14 different brands and makes of dash cams throughout the last 13 years I've been out on the road driving semi truck . There's not a bunch of menues to go through to get to stuff you got four buttons on the side and that's how you get through your menus and set it up like I said very easy to set up. So far very happy just hope the lifespan on this one is a lot longer.

For the first ever camera installed in my vehicle I love it. Installation was easy, using the camera is easy, and I like how the camera gives little alerts for you. ALERTS are delayed though! Do not rely on them. But I like how you can see the footage on your phone.

This thing is incredible. Obviously purchased it for peace of mind, but after a reckless driver totaled my truck, this was a game changer— while at first we were only able to go as far as statements at the scene of the accident, but I mentioned to the police officer on the scene that I had a dashcam. I was able to quickly download the video from it to my phone, send it to the officer to review in his squad car, and, when he returned, he said it was determined the reckless driver was 100% at fault. This made our lives so much easier when getting the reckless driver’s insurance to pay out the maximum amount for both damages and medical coverage— trust me, it’s worth every penny and for peace of mind!!

Perfect size and feature packed. What else would you want from a tiny dash cam? Voice activation, lane keeping alert, potential frontal impact alert, traffic light alert, traffic move alert, automatic accident sensor, GPS tracking-- It's got all of them. Then there's WIFI and Bluetooth link to your phone.
Included with the kit are 2 power cords with opposing 90 degree angle connector. One to hide the wiring in the roof liner and one direct plug that's facing down. Then there's 2 magnetic base with double sided tape just in case you make a mistake.
I would recommend placing it on the other side of your rear view mirror so you don't block any sensors on your mirror, etc. Once set up, it's set and forget. You can set the screen display to go off after a certain time so it's not distracting.
There's no need to acknowledge the start up screen because it will come on every time the until starts up.
There's an available polarizing filter if you're getting a lot of glare in your image.
Make sure you point the camera straight forward or your lane keeping alert will keep going off!
Garmin knows how to make vehicle electronics. It's nowhere near as sophisticated as their avionic or marine electronics but it's exceptional for what it does. Only time will tell how durable it is.

The Garmin dash cam 46 works great. I bought it for long trip for safety across the country and I’m not disappointed. The forward collision and lane departure warnings help and are a bonus if you want that. These can be turned off as well if you don’t want them on. It also has the ability to record while the vehicle is parked but you’ll need to set it up for that feature. It also has a ton of other features also. This dash camera is well worth the money! Highly recommend!

From the website image, I had thought the camera to be slightly smaller than a flip phone. This thing is much smaller. Indiscreet. The mounting hardware and wire length/ gauge make it incredibly easy to install and tuck the wire. Added features like lane departure are not too helpful on country roads. The alert constantly sounds as tar marks and other road imperfections seem to upset the device. An alert sounds to notify the driver that the car in front has suddenly decided to stomp on the brakes and pull slowly into a parking lot without warning or signal. Not very useful. Just nice to know I'm not the only one upset about the event. It has a greàt picture for such a small device. Simple menu to navigate. Over all, a nice little camera. Generously priced.

High resolution image, possibly a little pricey for the features it has.
Some dash cameras are picky about the brand of micro SD card you use, but this doesn't seem to be one of those. Download the free Garmin app to set up the camera. Garmin does have a smaller model, but it doesn't come with a viewing screen.
Videos are captured in 1-minute clips. Haven't yet found a way to change the clips from that 1-minute setting. Default setting copies time/date, GPS coordinates, and vehicle speed on each frame of the video. In the app, you can change which of those three get recorded, or not recorded. You can also choose to record sounds or not record them. Onboard viewing screen shuts off shortly after starting recording.
Typical way to mount the camera is to stick one of the provided magnets (2) on to your windshield, then the camera mount sticks to that magnet. The camera mount's magnet is on a movable stalk. If you want to use the camera in two different vehicles, then you have a second magnet to stick onto that windshield. Only comes with one power cord. Also comes with one data/power cord for connecting to your computer. USB connections on everything.
A very compact, high quality dash camera.

This is a very compact little camera. I have it mounted at the top of the windshield on my Jeep Wrangler. I ran the power wire around the trim to get to the plugs on the dash. It comes with two little metal bases. You attach one to the windshield and there is a magnet that holds the camera in place. The extra is a spare. It automatically adjust the camera orientation so the image is right-side-up however you have the camera attached. I records gps location and speed as part of the image. It also has different beeps that let you know if you are running out of your lane, following too close, and if you are at a stop light it will beep to let you know traffic is moving. I wanted it because I was in an accident my previous camera failed. It can be controlled using an app for your phone. I haven't even explored all of the features yet. Just stuck it up and forgot about it.

Purchased this camera multiple times in March 2021 for multiple vehicles in the family. It has worked great and luckily we've haven't had any incidents requiring us to pull videos from the SD card as evidence of others wreckless driving.
