    Bad Garmin

Doesn't allow to stop recording while you're searching for the crucial video, so you may lose your critical video because New video will be recorded over it! I accidently erased all unsaved videos while going through the settings, because the system was asking me if I wanted to allow erasing older videos "promptly" and I thought the changes will take effect for the future videos, then the system erased all of my unsaved videos without even asking me "Are you sure you want to erase All of your unsaved videos?" - like in typical situation, but No - it just erased everything! The sole purpose of dash cam is to insure the user could have easy access to crucial videos, but this cam erases everything with No regards whatsoever! Called Garmin customer service and the tech was not helpful either! A simple apology for creating camera that doesn't pause recording while you're searching for an older video with subsequential loss of All unsaved videos would be nice, but apparently it is too much to ask

Camera design is perfect and sits on windshield without causing any obstruction. At the same time, pictures and videos quality is average and no car plates can be read even from pictures taken form a close distance. But the most of a concerns are issues with a camera build in quality. From the start voice commands are not working, pictures can be taken only manually by pressing a bottom on camera. Just in few days after being installed, it stopped working with Garmin Drive App. Camera easily got paired with iPhone and connects to home Wi-Fi, but Garmin App is not seeing it. Then in another couple of days it's stopped recording to SD card. All troubleshooting steps advised by Garmin have not resolved camera problems. And finally, it's so hot on touch when plugged into car socket, so looks like it's may go melted one day. Will return it for exchange to see if another will perform as Garmin claims.

Works great and is small. Why do other cameras have a screen? Just takes up extra space - which is why I like this camera.

Two cams work great with a few bugs in app

Summary Pros -- Instal and set up of 2 German Mini 2, front and rear, was easy. (Doesn't need extra cable connecting the two cams) -- The app seamlessly integrates both cams. Very intuitive and easy to use. For live view or save files can toggle back or front cam. -- Voice commands work well. Say "Hi Grumman save video" and it saves 30 seconds of video on both cams in same file, 15 seconds before and after command. Or just push button on back. -- Can easily preview files via Wifi on cams from phone. -- No problem transferring files to my iPhone via wifi. The 30 second clip took about 30 seconds. A 2 minute clip took 3 minutes. (Longer clips say 10 mins would take too long.) -- Picure in picture option when saving also works fine. Takes a little longer to transfer but has back camera recording in top corner of front recoding. -- The trim edit function also works to trim the length of a clip. The app saves each trip as one file. So say take a pic or save file to get time when incident took place, then in edit before transferring, tap on timeline in video to get to event time, then drag start and stop one minute on each side of time of event, for a two minute video, which takes 3 mins to transfer. I had to trim it down to 50 seconds to email it from my iPhone to be under 1GB, so if I need to email to a cop on site if in an accident, otherwise would need to be connected to network for larger files. -- Files are saved to micro SD card in 1 min length. Still easy to scroll through.) -- The supplied power cables are very thin and easy to tuck in so they are hidden. -- All very small and discrete. -- Used a Samsung Pro Endurance micro SD card that was on the list of approved cards on Garmin website for this camera. Cons -- Didn't connect to bluetooth on second cam during set up. Same as others stated, when it says to select device in a screen. Had to turn both phone and cam off and it worked second time. -- Sometimes have to click connect a few times for it to connect to wifi. -- After firmware update it said only half of cam was connected to BT. Said to go into phone settings and tap on Mini 2, there are two Bluetooth connections for each cam. Did this and connected no prob. Have no issues with CarPlay or blue tooth. Sometimes have to push play on Pandora as the dash cam may have been the last connected device when car turned off but no biggie. Mine works great so keeping it. Just make sure to update firmware which is easy in settings, and use recommended SD card. Mine was only $13. I got mine from BB and people aren't having the kind of issue as others online "prime" retailers. Hopefully German keeps the firmware updated. But I'm very pleased with this set up. 1080p is fine for recording events and can still email a 30 second clip of incident on site to a cop via phone if necessary.

This is one of the more average items that Garmin makes. It's small, but also requires a good amount of phone use to get any value out of.
