Got in a hit and run accident today and hit the save button. Turns out, the save button deleted the past 15 minutes of video footage rather than save it. It did the opposite of what it was designed to do. Garbage product, have to get something different now Iguess.

Posted .Sorry to hear of your experience. Our Dash Cams record on a loop constantly overwriting the oldest file. So there is a good possibility the video in question is actually there. Please start by visiting support.garmin.com for full articles and even videos to assist further.

I went to install it and noticed the power cable that connects to the camera is angled so that the cord goes down versus up. If I am attempting to hide this behind the liner (the top part of the car), this creates an issue as the power cable goes down (not up). Gotta return this ASAP.

Posted .Our Dash Cams come with 2 cables. Bothe have a different angle. Short cable angled down and long cable angled up for routing and hiding.

Pretty much anything including or after the iPhone 11 will more than likely be unable to connect the GarminDrive app to this dash camera making it essencially useless. Huge disappointment becuase this product is supposed to be great. Garmin support will tell you to update the firmware but when that fails they basically tell you to get a different dash cam…

Should that not resolve we can get a case created to investigate further. Any potential issue will be resolved as soon as possible.

Camera absolutely will not connect to the app and it constantly gives the beep that says it is not recording. Our other cars use $30 cameras and they work great with no issues. I regret getting this one.

The app could certainly use some connections work but otherwise in car cameras should be a mount and forget device unless you hopefully don't need them. I bought one for the front then added one to the back. They take good enough video if you needed to make a claim.

The software is sketchy the Wi-Fi connection barely works no matter location no matter strength of signal. Your videos are overwritten within 24 hours no matter your SD size and in one lump sum file. Trying to go back and trim is almost impossible through the sketchy software. The okay Garmin save video option seems cool with voice command but until you actually purchase and use this thing you have to be a mind reader to know that you're fixing to be in an accident or need something recorded and saved in the vault. Even when using the voice command save option it only does one minute intervals. I was excited to get this product and thought it would solve all my problems but obviously I was wrong. Good idea bad software package and bad options of recording. When purchasing this product you just look like you've got things under control when you actually don't. I'm amazed at all the positive feedback I take this product seriously and don't want to just look like I have a dash cam. Would not recommend this product.

Posted .Sorry to hear you're not happy with this product. We at Garmin Support are happy to help clarify features that are important to you. For example, videos on the SD card are not overwritten within 24 hours unless capacity is reached. For example a 512GB microSD when Dash Cam is set to 720p will hold up to 139.8 hours of video prior to overwriting the oldest file on the card. The WiFi connection can be a bit confusing but its not dependent on a outside network, rather its a connection between your compatible smartphone and the Dash Cam.
