The Absolute Best Smartwatch

After trying out several smartwatches including the Apple Watch Ultra 2 (yes, the 2) -- I am back into a Garmin even with my small critiques of the software.
The GOOD drastically outweigh the BAD.
The good:
-Battery life is easily 10+ days with my harsher settings (always on display, HR on the main watch face, and other things.)
-Tracking metrics are great (i.e. body battery, HRV, sleep score)
-Great for activity, and even syncs with Apples MOVE bar, with slightly less inputs due to how it interprets ACTIVITY.
-Flashlight smart shortcut -- I use this daily, wow is it helpful
-Accuracy of HR and calories in workouts -- even though it is less than what I get with Apple Watches, it seems more accurate. The apple watches tend to over estimate caloric burn.
-Durability, is incredible.
-Build quality is much better than samsung watches or even garmins own Venu 3 (see my other review).
-Much more stylish versus the computer on wrist look of apple.
The bad (these are nit-picky):
-Calls only vibrate twice. I usually do recognize the first buzz, but this is annoying that it can't keep buzzing while the call is incoming.
-No calls on wrist like other watches.
-Integration to iOS is inferior to Apple Watches (as obvious as this is)
-Alarms do not sync to phone - minor inconvenience. I set an alarm on both. This is enough to buzz me awake, but I make sure.
-Stand and Exercise goals do not sync with apple rings. Minor, but it psychologically takes a bit to get used to.
-Charger is annoying to connect,
-Not as comfortable as Apples rounded bottom.

I am not particularly fit, and I was looking for a watch that could help me stick to my goals and get back in shape—while I am not there yet! This watch has helped me stay on track more than any other watch I have ever had. I’ve had it for about 1 year, and I can honestly say it's one of the best watches I have ever had. The display is crisp! And it is built like a tank. I've knocked it around plenty, and it still looks brand new. Battery life is crazy good too. It gives me around two weeks of battery life with AOD.
It is mostly a fitness watch rather than a smartwatch, its best feature. It does the smartwatch stuff like notifications and music, but I have them turned off. I don't particularly need it! It's definitely helped me stay on track, and that's what matters.
Is it pricey? Yeah, especially with the new Fenix 8 released recently. But if you're serious about getting in shape and want a watch that can keep up, the Garmin Epix Pro (Gen 2) is worth considering.

I couldn’t be happier with my Garmin Epix Pro Gen 2, battery life is outstanding, close to 28 days till I charge it again; it has basically the same functions as the Phoenix 7, the durability of the sapphire screen is great, it screams quality and brightness. Heart rate sensor is excellent. The only downside of the watch is the music player, but besides that I’m loving it. I prefer this watch much more than the Apple Watch Ultra 2, that I also have.

I've been using Garmin watches for a long time, and this is my 4th one. I had the forerunner previously, and by the time I retired it, it was in rough shape. I am very hard on watches, and the sapphire still looks as perfect as the day I bought it. I've been on hikes, many mountain bike rides, and renovated my house, all with this watch on 24/7. Battery life is also incredible. I'm very, very happy with this watch and hope it lasts me a long time to come.

This watch, I have to say is the best smartwatch that I have owned. I have owned many Samsung smartwatches which are also great but you cannot deny the battery life on this Garmin Epix Pro Gen 2 51mm. I have only used it as a smartwatch at this time. This includes receiving text and email notifications, steps, heartbeat and sleep data gathering. Also the obvious normal use of checking time…lol. The flashlight has been very useful and convenient. No need to grab my phone or look for a flashlight. So back to the battery life. I fully charged it on June 8th. It’s now July 2nd and I still have 6%/2 days of battery left. Never took it off. For me, I have no regrets on this purchase. It’s expensive but the way I see it, I wont need to upgrade anytime soon. This watch covers all my smartwatch needs especially when it comes to battery life.

First, I purchased my Garmin Epix Pro (Gen.2) through Best Buy and it was a GREAT experience. I worked with customer service on a price match and they were wonderful. Second, I've had my watch for about three weeks and am THRILLED with it: the features, battery life, flashlight (I'm shocked how much I use it), sensors, swapping bands--this watch is a GREAT sports watch. I get all my call and message notifications on it and since my phone is always with me, I can respond readily with my phone. I love it!

Wow!! I had / still have the old fenix. The old watch was a beast and has lasted for many years and still works. I wanted to get this as a newer upgrade. The main thing I was looking for was an upgraded screen, heart monitor, and better battery time. The fenix 3 was not longer holding long charges but still lasted better than an apple watch. This watch is amazing. The screen is literally beyond expectations. The touch display is accurate and easy to use. I have a few watch faces downloaded and they are sweet. The heart monitor is awesome. I have setup alerts to see when my heart raises (it goes off when I get a little stressed or have too many coffee's). While this is expense, this is amazing. I would buy it again.

have had the Garmin Epix 2 since it launched in 2020. My only complaint was the battery life due to the Always-On display. Having extra watchfaces and apps all eat into your battery life. I was down to 4 days before needing a charge.
The Garmin Epix Pro 51mm solves that issue. I now have 11 days of battery with the Always-On Display.
Having the built-in LED flashlight is so handy too. The screen looks sharper but it could be the benefit of the larger screen. The new built-in watchfaces are pretty cool too.
If you really want to dress it up, get the Garmin QuickFit 26 Vented Titanium Bracelet in the matching color. Very easy to adjust to size and gives the watch that classic statement piece look.

I have loved the Garmin watches for over a decade. I wish i would get sales credit for how many people buy them based on my usage. These are tough as nails and look very masculine. I want sure if i would like the Epix Pro but it is stellar and the battery life is amazing, I love the Amoled ability. Don’t get me wrong the translusive is a sweet look, it is a hard decision but I wanted the deep colors and it delivers!

All I can say is WOW! I have had three other smart watches personally, (Samsung) and family members have had multiple Apple watches. I have always thought these were quite good until I put this watch on my wrist! The functions are incredible, display-out of the world, touch response - fantastic, Golf function without phone - amazing! But the item that has really blown my mind is the battery life. I have had this for over three weeks worn it 1/3 of the days and played 4 rounds of golf AND STILL HAVE 6 Days of battery left. For a tier 1 digital watch I feel that I have hit the lottery with the Epix 2!

I've owned both a Samsung Galaxy watch and a Suunto Traverse. This like they had a baby and it took the best from both. It's a great watch. I have two complaints. The PC software on Win 11 doesn't detect the watch so you can't update it or change settings via the computer. You can use the phone app to do everything you need. My second complaint is the charging/connect cable is a C/C cable and they don't include a brick so I had to purchase a separate adapter. After paying a premium price for a watch...

This is an excellent watch overall but I gave it 4 stars for a few reasons. Lets start with the positives. The watch battery life is simply insane. You can wear this 24/7 and get sleep tracking, notifications, heart rate monitoring etc and not have to charge it for weeks. The build quality is excellent, the built in flashlight is actually bright and useful, the vibration was really strong for notifications, and over all the feel of the watch a large sized, high quality, well built watch. The downsides are the software still feels outdated. The watch app graphics are the same graphics from years ago and the organization of find settings isnt great. Some settings still have to be done on the watch which is fine but you have to go searching for it. When I got this a huge software update just came out which did add some nice features but the biggest issue is apple and google both want you to use their watches so you wont have the deep integration you get with those brands. Over all I would still recommend this watch as its an excellent product.

Hands down the best watch I have owned. Rugged, holds up well, tons of data, and a spectacular battery life. I use the flashlight much more than I thought I would. I would buy again and highly recommend for anyone who wants a long battery life, loads of stats, and a very well made watch.

I got this for my girlfriend and we like to hike, Pickleball, skiing, mtb and other sports, it works great with all of them and many many more, battery life is so great that you forget is an smartwatch, the screen looks better that the fenix with the same functionality, if you are thinking about it just get it, you won't be disappointed, and you can also get bands of different colors for your every day.

I've had the casio, pebble, android and the Garmin Fenix 5 and the Fenix 6xPro and now the Epix Pro and this is easily the best watch I have ever owned.
Beautiful screen, great battery life and tracks everything health wise you could want.
Don't waste your time on other watches.
I also converted my two daughters over from their apple watches and they never looked back.

I really like the display and colors, I came from having an older fenix and I really like the epix. I am impressed with the battery life, I have had it about a month and have charged it maybe 2-3 times. The watch is used daily for health and
fitness tracking, and have recent started tracking my sleep. The watch is awesome and would definitely recommend…
