More than a watch it's a life changer

Paying this kind of money for a watch is totally insane......with that said it's been the best watch I have owned, and I have had some good ones. Casio pathfinder and a Suunto just too name a few. First I did major research on this and other high end ABC watches. I looked at all kinds and decided that the garmin was the one. It does more stuff than my phone from 10 years ago. It has maps on to track (cant zoom in on screen is my only gripe about this watch) but it has breadcrumbs and will use it's own GPS. When you download the app your going to find so many cool things, Your heart rate, your o2 level, your stress level, your sleep patterns....yes if you wear it at night it keeps track of your sleeping habits. You can add different activities to the watch, if you walk just hit that activity and start it, it will keep track of distance and much much more. It even maps it on the app. If you Mountain bike it has that, hiking and more. If you like music you download an app and listen from the watch via bluetooth. You can change the face of the watch...you can send text messages back from the watch. I found a cool archery app that keeps track of your groupings. This is my first smartwatch and will never go back. If you like smartwatches and enjoy the outdoors this rugged watch will do the trick.

Great all around Smart watch. Very accurate GPS that can track and categorize runs, hikes, swimming, and many other activities. Customizable data fields and add-ons truly make work for your specific needs. My favorite feature is the music streaming and storage! Excellent quality, very rugged and durable.

I am not a fan of Garmin and bought this watch in spite of myself. I haven't regretted it for a second. For once, Garmin has managed to simplify the interface and produce an easy to use intuitive watch that lives up to the hype. The battery life on the 5X Plus is much better than my wife's 5S Plus and I love the ability to run with music again killing my shuffle years ago. My only issue is that the watch is a little thick, protrudes from my wrist and I end up hitting it on objects more than I'd like. The end result being the black finish has been scuffed above the watch face.

I bought this as an upgrade to my fenix 3. This watch is great! I love, love, love that it holds and plays music. I have paired it with a bluetooth speaker as well as my headphones so I can listen to music while working around the house, on the porch or if I go out for a run. I also love that the screen has color on this watch, nice upgrade from my fenix 3. Battery life is much better as well. So far, so good, very happy I made this purchase!

I use this watch primarily for lap swimming in conjunction with the Garmin HRM-Swim heart rate monitor. The wrist based monitor works great out of the water, but cannot monitor your heart rate while swimming. The watch is perfect for the triathlete, and the pulse oximetry capability is ideal for those training at altitude. It is well built, and the sapphire crystal protects it against scratches from daily use. The wifi, Bluetooth and gps functions work well and add to its versatility. For those who want to listen to music or audiobooks while working out (NOT while swimming as Bluetooth can't transmit very far in water) and do not want to carry their phone with them, the ability to store and play music on the watch is an added plus. As per the description (and not my experience, so far), it can also be used to track various other activities, such as skiing, rowing, etc.

My do it all Garmin Fenix 5X Plus is a must have. Comfortable, sleep with it every night. Music app is great with my earbuds and GPS is very useful while hunting or fishing or just hiking. So far have not had any issues.

Had been eyeing this watch for a while and waited for it to go on sale. Used Best Buy rewards as well, so got a great deal. It really does everything. Wanted a watch that monitored HR and stored music. Also mainly run, but do triathlons as well, so this is great for that as well. Looks great too. It is big, but I was wearing Forerunner 920XT, so that didn’t bother me. Have had it for over a month and have no regrets with this purchase.

Excellent Watch, Highly Recommend. Too many features to name. Initially bought watch to use as golf yardage tool, but this watch is capable of tracking numerous day-to-day activities. Great watch for running, biking, golf and did I forget to say it stores music to listen to as well!!! Best Purchase I've made in a while.

I needed/wanted a watch that had three things... GOS, Music and Garmin pay. I hate carrying a phone or anything else for that matter when I run. This watch has all that and so much more. Big face is great to see when running too!!! So much to learn, so happy I finally purchased.

For what ever physical activity you have planned, this watch has something for you. From running to cycling, you are able to identify great information while exercising. The ability to load music on it and link to wireless headphones is also extremely convenient.

I have a fenix 5X and I bought the Plus to see how much better it was. They recently updated the 5X non plus so it now has Galio as well. Having music built into the watch was cool, but I decided to just keep my old 5X as I usually don't listen to music during runs nor use credit cards from my watch. If you do not have a Fenix 5X, the Plus is an awesome watch, it for me not worth the Steep upgrade price.

I only had my Fenix 5X Plus for ten days before returning it. I've owned three other Garmin Forerunners starting with the 301 so I do like their products. My main reason for getting this watch was so I could listen to music without having to take my phone on runs. Watch set up and adding songs was relatively straight forward. However, I found I had to re-pair my Jabra Elite Active 65t earbuds every time I wanted to use the watch. Half the time, after trying for 15-20 minutes with no success, I gave up. Even when paired, songs would cut out when I wore the watch on my left wrist. Okay, I could get used to wearing it on my right wrist and put up with the occasional empty air when the watch went behind my back. Then one day the watch did not pair with my Garmin HRM-Run heart rate monitor, which it had previously been doing without problem. My old 920XT paired with it flawlessly so that was the last straw, I returned the Fenix 5X Plus. Garmin does have a list of "wireless" (not true wireless) earbuds on their website that they say work with the Fenix 5X Plus, but I wasn't prepared to spend even more money on any of those. I hope Garmin will figure out how to get their watch to work with arguably the best and one of the top rated true wireless earbuds on the market. I'm not sure what the issue was with the heartrate monitor, but if you buy this watch with the hopes of listening to music, check out Gramin's recommmended earbuds - hopefully they'll provide better performance than I experienced.
