Watch meets all demands I expected. Concerned with the durability of the case with bumping into things and scratching the finish after reading some of the reviews, although have not seen a issue. Battery life is awesome, sure beats a previous fanboy watch anyway I had.

Couldn't recommend a better watch for the outdoorsman or tri-athlete. I've used this watch for so many things from golfing, hiking, working out, and even for my first of many triathlons. It has held up amazingly.

Great watch. You won’t find a replacement black silicone band in stores. Only in store replacement options are a orange silicone or metal band.

Taken by itself, the Garmin fenix 5X is an excellent GPS/fitness watch. It starts with the to-be-expected step and stairs counters, and adds standard and customizable activities and full-time wrist-based heart rate tracking. It is water resistant and can track your pool laps too. The big attraction with this watch is standalone mapping and routing. Where other GPS watches show the route you've just walked or run as a squiggly line on a blank background, this one can display it over a street or topo map. Other customizations in the form of downloadable watch faces, applications, activities, and widgets are also possible. If you're upgrading from a fenix 3 HR many of these features sound familiar since the 3 HR is a very capable device-- mapping is the major differentiator between the two models. If you're upgrading from a fenix 3, you get the addition of a full-time heart rate monitor and mapping but lose some battery life.

I heard my squad leader and platoon leader talking about this watch. Beore then I had never heard of it. I purchased the Fenix 3 at the PX on sale and had it less than a month when I read that the Fenix 5 was coming out. I ordered the Fenix 5x Sapphire and sold my 3 to another soldier. It is a great watch to have in a tactical military environment. I bought it for my current deployment and it has not let me down. Several of my soldiers are getting the same watch because of my recommendation. From a soldiers standpoint, this watch is loaded with features including "Jumpmaster", "Tactical", and others that cater to our needs. From a fitness standpoint, everything you need to track your health and fitness goals are but into this device as well. It is considered a Personal Electronic Device (PED) so it is forbidden in certain areas where classified information is stored or discussed and other areas of OPSEC concern.

This is my third Garmin purchase and so far it’s been great. It does take some time figuring out how to navigate through the various setting but once you figure it out, you can easily start customizing it to your liking. GPS works great. Wasn’t a fan of news, text, and call notifications on my wrist so I disabled these right away. Still playing around with other workout settings.

Being in law enforcement I was worried about cracking or scratching the face of the watch. It’s taken a ton of abuse in just over a month and only has a small scratch on the outside bezel. The features of this watch are awesome.

This watch tracks all different activities. The battery life is really good. I don't really use the GPS so I'm unsure of how much that drains the battery. My only con is the price. It is overly priced especially compared to all the other fitness trackers.

This watch is perfect for runners. Provides every bit of info you could want.

i am a avid hiker. i got this for a simple gps watch thats water proof and has topo maps... didnt think id use the app for fitness ect. uts completely changed the way i prepare for trips and workout. theres a reason garmin is rated number 1

Overall, great all round watch, nothing better on the market. Waterproof makes it important for me, steps tracking, bike tracking and mapping all help make this the watch I wanted. Battery power lasting a week with full brightness on demand.

Although this watch cost more than your average fitness tracking watch, it does everything you could ever ask for. As a bonus it offers golf gps tracking which is very easy to use. Being able to customize it to fit my needs is a great option.

this watch is amazing. Have had galaxy watches and while it is not as loaded with touch screen it just plain works and has more features. Did i mention it can go a week without a charge.
