I'm sure if you're into exercise and keeping track of that type of thing it would work great for you unfortunately it wasn't what I needed I needed something that I could use a computer or my cell phone to track the GPS location of somebody planning to attempt on trying to kidnap my child the sales representative said that this would do that for me it does not

Solid gps watch that gets the job done. Easy to understand and configure. Only downside is no Bluetooth to sync with phone. Can plug into computer to sync runs though.

The watch has a lot of nice features but it does take a while for the GPS to sync on a cloudy day.

The product is fine and as advertised. The battery does not last full 8 hours as advertised. Dies off at about 5-6 hours.

It's more than one of the best GPS brands in the market. Garmin Connect is the online system that you can upload your activity and use it as a powerful tool for training.

    Hardly works

Going into this purchase I understood the limitations of the device. Unlike anything FitBit and the more expensive Garmin devices, there is no bluetooth support, which means all data must be sync'd on a computer. That being said, let me review my experience with this device. The appeal of this hardware for me was the battery life and it is waterproof. I figure I could manage the lack of wireless support. My primary use for the device is step tracking at work and running on the weekends. After a full charge and updating the software, I took a walk around the block to test the step counter. The device barely registered any of my steps. I continued to walk around my house for the better part of a half-hour, turning it off and back on several times to no improvement. This is pretty disappointing. I didn't even try the GPS mode as the device was already not performing to what it was advertised. Why it's doing what it's doing, I don't know, but I was hoping for more than a basic pedometer, but it doesn't even do that right- what I have is a $150 stopwatch. I will be returning this device and will not be seeking a replacement.

    Don't buy, read my story

This was a father's day gift to me this year. My wife drove 2 hrs to her local best buy to buy this. Since then the watch has completely wiped all data randomly THREE times. Garmin support says, not directly, this is normal. Here's the full story. Within the first month of owning it I plugged it in and it wasn't recognized. Error popped up on my PC saying drive needs to be formatted. I unplug the watch, turn it off and back on, and all of sudden it connects. But there was no data, it had wiped everything and I lost all my runs. Contacted Garmin on Facebook via pm and they tell me it might have had old software and if it's connecting fine now then I should be good to go. And if it happens again to contact Garmin support Happened again end of August so I email support and told them the whole story. They tell me sometimes a file gets corrupted so every once in a while, I think every month I should delete some folders then reboot the watch. Ever since then I did just that but then it happened just now. So it last two months instead of the 1.

Thank you for taking time to review your Forerunner 15. While it is possible to get a corrupt file on the device, what you described with the device clearing all of your data almost monthly is unsual and something that will need to be investigated further. If possible please send an email to [email protected] and provide them this information so that this can be looked at further, or discuss other troubleshooting or potential exchange options. Thanks again for the review. -JFH Garmin
