I really liked this watch when I first bought it. The GPS is great and I like the various readings you get during a workout. The display isn't the most user friendly, but you can download new faces with different setups which is nice. The HR monitor was initially pretty good, though was occasionally inaccurate which is expected with a wrist sensor. However, after owning it for only about 4 months I started to notice the HR sensor become less accurate and it's only gotten worse. Now it's more often horribly wrong that it is even close to being right. It will often get stuck on one HR for my entire workout, or drop a HR reading intermittently throughout. When it does seem to respond to my HR it's not accurate. For example, the other day it read 88bpm but my HR was actually 144bpm. Then another time it read 138bmp and my HR was 68bpm. This has continued throughout my workouts. Very disappointing to pay this money when a main feature seems to malfunction after only a few months of use.

Disappointed. I purchase this Garmin in December 2018, hoping to last several years and now after 2 years and 5 months is not working anymore. It started some months ago with difficulties to upload my activities, the sometimes displaying an off time, then freezing, battery lasting around 28 hours, and now it charging at all. I still have the forerunner 101 that I purchased in 2004 and is still working. I will give a double thought before purchasing a Garmin again.

Less than steler interface, lag time, and minite character changes between this model and polar. Bought for the price and still returned.

Limited in its uses. Ended up returning it and bring the forerunner 45. Is much better and around the same price.

The watch didnt hold up long enough. It ended up glitching and had screen issues where it would not display things correctly. My girlfriend would reset it and it would work for a little but then itll happen again. This did not make it a year. There is a cover at the bottom that eventually wore off and came off exposing adhesive. I had to clean it off in order for her to be able to wear it, but eventually she bought something else.

Use this mainly for running and inline skating, and it is not consistent with GPS tracking. About one in 5 runs it loses a tenth or a mile or two, so the pace per mile is off. It is annoying is trying to keep track of runs and pace changes. The app is also not good at providing past history and long term tracking of anything outside of running, biking, and swimming.

This watch I guess is for a runner, which I am not. I walk, and I am having issues finding stuff in the menus. Not to mention it is supposed to count flight of steps and it has not to this date, If it is not going to work properly, I will be returning it.

Really disappointed with this watch. I thought I would love it but it is too complicated for me. My steps and distance tracker did not seem to be accurate either.

We have had several activity watches. This product felt cheap, had a horrible user interface and was just not a good purchase all around. We returned after having it for a week.

It was decent GPS watch. However, not everything I wanted. I ended up returning it so I could save for another week to just get the Apple Watch.

With today's smartwatches the price on this watch needs to be lowered. Its laggy and the screen resolution is horrible. Feels cheap

The watch works well most of the time but. Freezes from time to time. The gps sometimes takes forever to load and the time stops syncyjng off and on.

Bought this for a huge fan of Garmin products, unfortunately it won't sync or stay synced with her Moto phone.

this is an expensive watch and did not have a stopwatch so I returned it.

Should be able to keep up with all the competition in the latest features

I got this watch to track my runs but on the second day, it broke down

I purchased this watch hoping for a good running watch with passable activity tracking. After all, if I wanted an activity tracker, I wouldn't have purchased a watch that is specifically meant for running, right? And the Forerunner 235 claimed basic activity tracking, such as step tracking, sleep tracking and heart rate monitoring. I knew from reviews that it wouldn't be particularly good at it, but I was willing to deal with it in exchange for superior run tracking. However, the watch doesn't even do the basics correctly. For example, the watch doesn't keep the right time, because instead of syncing with your phone's time, it syncs with its GPS satellite. Which means that if for some reason your watch cannot connect to satellite, or takes a long time to connect to satellite, it's possible your watch will be too fast or too slow. There's a manual setting, but this is something so basic that I'm honestly flabbergasted doesn't work better. Secondly, the watch keeps your activities just fine. But the mobile app and the web app that connect to your watch, in case you want to look at your activities on a screen larger than 1 square inch, are terrible. They don't sync properly to the watch, meaning even if you're done with an activity, it won't sync to your mobile app or web app. And that's just running-- it definitely won't sync heart rate, sleep, etc. even if it's displayed on your watch. (When I contacted customer service, the best the service rep was able to do was tell me to connect my watch to the computer manually, then upload the running files myself to the web app. That's all well and good, but what's the point of even providing wireless sync as an option?) So what you're left with is a good running watch that really only works in a vacuum. You can forget about having a good or even working mobile app or web app, and you can forget about doing analysis on your runs outside of your watch. And because Garmin doesn't work with Apple or Google's own fitness tracking services, your data is entirely locked to your watch unless you manually upload from your watch to your computer. Overall, Garmin's software is frankly a trash fire. The hardware is slick and sleek, but it fails even on the most rudimentary abilities of a watch. If your watch can't tell time, I don't care how good of a running watch it is. I think I'll look at Fitbit or Samsung instead.
