It is not touch and you have to rely on buttons only. If you don't want the touchscreen option, I will recommend this item for sure.

MUSIC LISTENERS BEWARE

To my surprise however when I went to pair it to my top-rated Jabra Elite Active 65t wireless headphones, it wouldn't work! If you are a music enthusiast (and honestly why else would you buy this model) BEWARE! If you already own a pair of headphones or are looking for some to pair to this watch, check Garmin's website to see the very limited and honestly not very noteworthy list.

He loves the watch. It has everything he needs. The only problem is that we are senior citizens and a little technology challenged, so it's taking him a little getting used to to remember how to work it from one run to the next. Great watch though.
