Purchased for my husband, but I took it out the box to figure it out, I realized it wasn’t the kind of tracker that would work for him. I took it back and exchanged it for the Vivo 3 without any problems or hassles.

    Garmin Forerunner 35

Just like the Garmin forerunner 15, this Garmin Forerunner 35 suffers from the same exact flaw. The watch strap breaks all the time. This one separates its self from the white connector piece that attaches to the body. The white connector will not come off the body. The body has warped too, so when I tried to connect the new strap it is not positioned correctly. The band goes slanted instead, not touching the body on the one side.

heart rate monitor quit 3rd time I wore the watch

I purchased a 235 before the 35 and returned it because it won't charge when the low battery warning appeared - had the watch for less than one hour! I thought I would have better luck with the 35, but the heart rate monitor quit after just the 3rd use. I am very disappointed with Garmin watches and suggest a different brand, certainly something that doesn't have the Garmin name on it.

Bought this watch for my wife and all I can say there are better options out there for a watch. First the screen is like reading from a nook. Second the app interface for smartphone is so horrible and clunky with numerous bugs. And Third if you are planning to get a watch to read/reply messages or locate phone just get a Samsung/Apple watch or exercise watch get a Fitbit.

Controls are definitely not intuitive to use. Took forever to connect to satellites for GPS. Changing watchbands is complex with little screws to manage. For a little more have now bought a Apple iWatch 3 and have had totally different and positive experience.

Yeah it's meant to be simple however you don't have control over most of the simple things that it does. The Vivoactive HR which is slightly higher absolutely makes the Forerunner 35 an antique.

Great watch for all activity tracking

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The reason why I purchased this watch is because it monitored all of my exercises like jogging, cycling, and weightlifting, plus it had a built in heart rate monitor. This in turn gave me a very accurate count in how much calories I was burring per activity. Jogging: The heart rate monitor appears to be very accurate when I was out doing my 4 miles lap. It needs to be worn slightly tight above the wrist bone to ensure accuracy if your doing a vigorous exercise where there will be a lot of sweating. The HPM range difference was very noticeable when I was out of shape and then now. It is definitely not just throwing out random numbers. These live HPM update are very useful since it takes out the guessing game for you to maintain you target rate zone. Which is important to burn the most calories. Other features of the watch: You can link it to your phone or computer via Bluetooth, and your information will automatically update with the Garmin Connect app. It is a smartwatch so if your phone is in range, emails, text, and phone calls will pop up on the watch. It also has GPS, so all of your activities will be tracked and saved without having to bring your phone along. Another feature is all of your daily steps are tracked and easily monitored by scrolling through the watch. This watch and the Garmin Vivoactiv are very similar in features, except the later having a color touch screen. I like the forerunner 35 better because I think it is a nicer looking everyday watch and has a better value in my opinion.
