I'm a huge Garmin fan and loved the 405CX for nearly 5 years before deciding to bite the bullet and move up. The 920 is easier to use, it gets satellites much quicker and the heart rate monitor is more comfortable. The price tag is high, but am happy with all the upgraded features.

It was difficult to pull the trigger on this watch being that I never wear watches, but I can tell you that this watch never comes off and I feel lost without it. There are other great watches out there, but I couldn't find any with the versatility of the 920xt. I use this watch every time I train (4-7 times per week) and once synced to your smart phone and garmin connect app your training stats are sent to your phone to track your progress without any annoying cords. I use this watch for running, biking, weight lifting, cross training, skiing, and motocross racing. Go to YouTube to figure out how to add your personal training subjects as I did for skiing, weight lifting, and motocross (it was really simple). Sure you can use plenty of smartphone apps to record nearly the same thing, but phones are expensive, not waterproof/ sweat proof, and I haven't heard of a phone tracking your heart rate (I haven't looked). One last thing, I was fighting the price of the 920xt so I first bought the forerunner 15 which was nice, but battery life, no Bluetooth to garmin connect, and no sports beyond running pushed me towards the 920 and I have no regrets.

I began my triathlon training with this watch. It does everything you need to train right. This past weekend I used it for my first triathlon and the "triathlon" setting worked perfectly. The timing and distances were same as the race chip. Measures cadence, heart rate, vertical oscillation and more, plus it's relatively easy to use.

If you're looking for the ultimate multisport watch with true triathlon capabilities, this is the watch for you. It does come with the runner's chest HRM (swim HRM sold separately). GPS acquires satellites quickly, and user setup is quick and painless. I also own an Edge 810 bike computer, and both products sync up to Garmin Connect flawlessly and combine metrics for a nice readout of all of your data. If you're looking for something not so metric-intensive (and you don't bike or swim), I would go for a lower model watch with built-in HRM capabilities.

I love my garmen. I had some problems at first as the date would not sync properly but after hooking my garmen up to the computer and getting the update within 24 hours it corrected itself. Now they even have a heart rate monitor to use in the water.

I bought this watch to monitor my training progress, I am an avid mountain biker, and runner. I also dabble in tri sports. I am impressed with the amount of information I get, and how accurate and easy to use the watch is. Battery life is good and Garmin Connect is very good too. Very impressive!!

    The Ultimate Runner's Watch

Super training aid for running and triathlons. No more using a car to mark mile splits on running routes or having to run the same route because of known mile markers. It's great to run anywhere and know how far you've been and what your pace is at any given time. Auto downloads distance, pace, elevation, temperature and other parameters to your computer via wifi. You can bring up the route you just ran and see what you were doing at any given point. Well worth the price. Quality piece.

During my workout I like to be able to see a variety of data, the different screens and onboard sensors enable that in an easy, intuitive way. The best part though is the watch connects with bluetooth to my phone or WiFi to my network and automatically uploads files online for me to view. This has streamlined my post workout routine and saves me time.
