Fits nice. Accuracy of heart rate for the most part accurate, It has issues randomly higher heart rate, up too 20 bpm higher for a short time then another product i use and it didn't record it. Also steps is also exceptionally higher then two other products i use at the same time. one app said 4686 steps, google fit said 6088 steps , instinct 8981 steps. The app could use a blow up of the graph. Sleep function seams very accurate and stairs. Most of everything else seams OK so far.Just understand what you are buying. Read the instinct fine print for accuracy of this product.

The IO on this watch makes it almost unusable. Battery life is good, it’s comfortable, metrics seem accurate, but the actual interface and scrolling to different functions and using them is abysmal.

Love the watch for the battery life but any function that requires a beep or vibration turns the watch off... I've tried all the fixes. I will be returning since I have the BBuy protection.

For the price I paid, this watch is a disappointment. All Black screen at 350$, not a good deal. At this price just buy an Apple Watch, you wouldn’t really be missing out on many functions. This is not a user friendly watch. You will need to invest some time in to learn how to use it. I could not get it to do something simple like show me on a map where I was walking and hiking. I asked for help on forums to learn how to do it and I still couldn’t figure it out. NOT WORTH IT.

Watch is great, functions work well and guve you what you need. If you use gps though the battey lasts maybe 30 minutes max and the solar function is terrible. The watch i got maybe was juat bad but the solar charging is a waste and spending the extra money for solar was a complete waste and pointless. If that was fixed and it didnt take days to fully charge

    Battery Issues

I've had the watch for about a month now. I love all the features of the watch but I'm having a hard time keeping it charged. The longest the battery has lasted for me is about 2 days. I use the GPS and sensors regularly but even when in battery saver mode the battery drains very quickly. I'm going to reach out to Garmin because this doesn't feel right.

Loved the watch and the utility of it. The only reason I do not recommend is because it worked for a little over a year and there is nothing Best Buy is willing to do to correct the issue. It is in good condition, no reason it should have stopped working. It just quit on a random day. For as durable as they advertise garmin, it was not durable at all.

Not worth spending $200. The UI is probably 10 years old and is way behind the competition in this segment. Features are ok too - nothing as such that would blow your mind. You ll find all of them in a basic smartwatch.

    Great Big MEH

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

MEH. The plus side? Good features for the most part, but limited in scope and function. It does what it needs to, but it is slow on scrolling through functions and there is often a severe lag between activity and measurement. Overall, that's none too bad. The written directions are very poor, they appear to have been written for someone already familiar with Garmin products, not by an educator or skilled technical writer. However, use is still easily learnable, pretty much just throw away any written material from Garmin. The very worst part is the limited battery life. Now, granted, I live, work, exercise, and enjoy Alaska. The GPS systems are not well-enabled for our latitude, but they mostly work...as long as you're not next to a mountain, a cliff, or trees...now why is that a concern in Alaska? The biggest issue though, is the insufficiency of solar charging. The charging area is so small (outer ring) that it doesn't charge well here. If you live in and enjoy Alaska, don't bother with this solar model. It simply doesn't work well here even during summer.

Open water swim tracking basically doesn't work

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this watch to replace an old 735XT which was no longer doing a good job of measuring my open water swims. The GPS would just crap out and freeze and stop measuring my distance. That watch was almost 10 years old so I figured it was just worn out. So I spend time researching on the Garmin site which watches can measure open water swimming. I ended up spending at least $100 more than I would have specifically to get this functionality. Unfortunately, I discovered that the problem I had with my old watch wasn't just about it being worn out -- the same problem exists in my brand new Garmin Instinct Solar. I bought it before the current markdown, so I paid over $400 for a watch that cannot measure one of the activities I bought it to measure. Meanwhile, my friends are swimming in more attractive Apple watches -- sure their battery life sucks, but I CAN'T EVEN MEASURE MY SWIMS. Unfortunately, I am past the return date (bought it two months ago). I received a reply from Garmin Support with questions like: "Are you utilizing the built-in "Open Swim" activity? Is the watch above the water when you begin the activity?" They also sent a link to a list of recommendations including: "Wear the watch in a swim cap." Finally, this is the third Garmin I have owned -- I had a 735XT and a Vivosmart -- and by far the least attractive.
