works for the garmin products. not the most workable item.

When I bought this mount 6 months ago, the user reviews gave the impression it is a flawless accessory. I could not agree more. After months of use, on my car and other cars, I still find myself smiling and thanking Garmin for this wonderful device. My car has a sloping dash. A rental car I recently used had a steep slope and I was skeptical the mount will stay put. I was wrong. This mount refuses to move even a tenth of an inch from where you leave it. There is no "mounting" step. You just place it on the dash! When your driving is done, you pick it up and keep it away from unfriendly eyes. The nuvi series clips on in a second - so easy that you can do that in the dark. I find the "mount" and "dismount" procedure so simple that I stow away the device and GPS everytime I park and leave my car unattended on a multi-stop shopping trip. I cannot imagine myself doing that with a suction mount. The round knob allows you to position the GPS at just the angle you want. The GPS screen is some 4 inches above the dashboard, which is more or less at the height most easy to view. I never felt the mount or GPS is intruding my view of the road. I wish I had one complain to write to add some balance to my review. I just do not have a single complain.

Bought this item to use with my Garmin GPS in my motorhome. The mount won't stay in place while driving. It kept falling off the dash or sliding all the way to the windshield. Pretty much worthless unless you're only using it while you're parked.

I purchased this to enable me to view my GPS usnit, hoping I could place it on the dash. However, it slides all over when I turn or brake and when it touches the windshield it folds down, render ing the GPS uinit unreadable.

I have always attached my GPS to my windshield with either the suction cup or the disk that is stuck to the window. I was tired of the device falling from the window. I was tired of twisting myself around the steering wheel to re-apply the device. It is very easy to attach the GPS to the mount, and everything fits perfectly on my dashboard. No ugly disk on my windshield. No falling GPS. I can move my device out of the window to avoid heat damage from the sun when I've parked my car during warm and hot months. Of course, it is also easy to move from the window to avoid tempting potential thieves. It was all easy to pack and take with me when I flew across country so I could use it while on vacation. I can't speak highly enough about the Auto Friction Mount. Wish I had it earlier!!

This is the best mount I have used for a Garmin GPS. It stays where you put it and doesn't slide around or move. It is made like a bean bag but the bottom is made of something else that will stay where you place it. I'm not sure what the bottom is made of but I have used on different vehicles and it works great for all. Don't have to worry about your Garmin falling of the window anymore or a circle on your windshield. Also some states don't allow placement on windshield so with this mount you don't have to worry about it. I have a 6 inch Garmin GPS nuvi cam which is fairly big and this mount holds it very well. Overall the best mount I've used.

I bought this for the Rv to put on the dash but the dash moves a lot more than I thought and the mount won't stay in place had to put duct tape on the bottom of the mount to hold it from moving on the dash!!

This is the perfect GPS mount. Fits nicely on the dash and so easy to set up and use and does not move a bit while driving. A huge improvement from the windshield mount that would fall off from time to time!

It didn’t work for me because I have a TOMTOM GPS..... had to return it... Was really Excited, but disappointed that it won’t work for my Hardware...

I returned this after the first use. I stopped at a stoplight going uphill and my garmin flipped off of the dashboard. Luckily the screen didn’t break.

I bought this because it is against the law in Ca to use the windshield mount. Now I know that I would never want to use the windshield mount. This product can be moved from car to car, won't slide anywhere, and is easy to be seen by driver and passenger. If it is a hot ride, I put in on the seat next to me if there is no passenger, to keep it out of the sun. And no ugly sticky marks on the windshield to clue in a thief. I hide the mount and take the Garmin with me when I leave the car.

This mount speeds the transfer of your GPS from car to car without requiring you to buy additional window mounts. It is especially handy when picking up a rental car and getting on the road in a hurry. It also increases visibility through the windshield when driving and reduces the potential for a break in because there is no mount visible when the unit is removed from the car.

This mount comes in two separate items, the one I needed was the clip that goes on the mount. It really should be included! Just add it to the price.

Tried in both of my vans, and the product will not stay in place. Continually had to re-position on the dash of my '11 E-350 and '14 Transit connect.

This item was a perfect add-on for my new (Garmin) GPS unit. It sits solidly on the dashboard of my car, and lets you adjust your GPS unit to a level position even if your dashboard has a slope to it. I love being able to put it in place and remove it from the car so quickly and easily! For the materials used to actually construct this item...it may seem a little pricey, but the function and ease of use more than makes up for it. I would highly recommend this add-on item to anyone!

This is a must-have for every GPS owner. Stable base for Dashboard, Keep out of the windscreen and in sight where you need it

Pure trash and does NOT hold Garmin on dashboard! You should get what you paid for, not with this junk piece of garbage.

This unit is not for the sports car drivers, it'll end up in your lap after an aggressive night out.

Love this friction mount! I was very happy to receive this as part of my package GarminNuvi1300LMT deal. The GPS unit snaps into its cradle easily and can be tilted to maximize ease of reading. The weighted mount feels secure sitting on the dashboard. I can quickly stow away the entire unit when I'm not using the GPS by simply picking it up.

I ended up returning the product. It's not stable. It still moves alot especially in my truck.
