I recently purchased a Garmin GPS but knew I didn't want to use the suction cup that comes with it (my daughter couldn't get hers to stay on the windshield). After looking at reviews for this, I decided to take a chance and try it for an upcoming long trip. After getting home, I couldn't rave about this product enough. We had hit quite a few bumps in the road (of varying sizes), and this product never moved. I raved about it so much that my daughter tried it for multiple trips for work, and now she's going to purchase one.

All you do is plunk the mount on the dash. It stays in place with no other attachments. Love it.

I drive a Yukon and it has a steep slope from the dash down to the windshield glass. I was afraid it wouldn't hold firm on that incline. Well, it does great. I don't drive like a NASCAR racer, but have been known to take a corner here and there and start and stop quickly. It hasn't move yet!!

Due to the rake of my windshield and my desire not to have wires hanging in front of my line of sight I purchased the friction unit. It's also heavily weighted and doesn't move around even in vigorous driving. I've used them before in rental cars and since this is the first car we've bought in several years without a built in GPS this was the best solution.

This mount stays where you put it. The GPS mounts and removes easily. Very mobile. Best mount for the money.

This mount was far better than the window or dash mounts, because seriously how long does a dash and/or window mount stay up until they fall? Get this mount and never worry. Price sucks though.

The biggest concern I had about this mount was how well it would stay in place on my dashboard. I was tired of the windshield mount falling off after a couple of days in the heat. I can tell you this mount is the greatest. I happened to have it on my dash board during a high speed pursuit. This involved breaking from 60 + miles per hour down to about 10 mph and making hard 90 degree turns. It also involved abrupt stops and acceleration. This thing never moved. If anyone has any doubts about this thing staying put on your dash, put them to rest. If it didn't move under these conditions, it won't move under any normal situation.

Before you write a review, know your facts. The product specs clearly state that this item is for use with the nuvi series and the street pilot 5XX series. Of course this will not work with a street pilot 3XX series. I found this product easy to use and very helpful. Todays slanted windshields and some state laws make the use of this item essential.

i purchased this holder for my garmin nuvi.... it works perfect, plus right before i got this, i heard on the news that there were a whole bunch of people stealing gps systems from cars, i know what your thinking just take the suction cup and gps inside at night, thats what i thought at first, but they also look for the marks on your windsheild that the suction cup has made, i dont know ablut you but gps in my car or not, i dont want any guy breaking in my car windows just to find no gps and i have to talk to the insurence agent..... over all good buy..... WORTH THE MONEY....

We had one of these for our first GPS and since we purchased another GPS needed this mount for our second car. Works great and looks fine. Really no complaints except rarely, if I make a sharp turn, it may slide off, but not a major problem--I just need to plan ahead more. Wish it didn't cost quite as much as it does, but I still recommend this--it works well.

This was a great purchase and would highly recommend. It makes it easy to move from car to car. No matter what I do, it will not move on the dash.

The design of this mount allows me to place it on the dash, or at the bottom of my radio stack (just in front of the shifter--my favorite location). The other mount that Garmin sold at the time (the big round donut) didn't allow me to do that, so this was the best choice. I liked it so well I've now bought a second one for my new nuvi GPS. As other folks have mentioned, it is a little pricey, but I didn't mind. Any other (generic) mount that I found didn't have the flaps, so I waited to catch the second one on sale. Definitely a good choice . . .

Much easier to hide away when parking. Easier than disconnecting from the window mount. It is sturdy and does not slide around while driving.

I didn't buy this mount until it was on sale for I felt $40 was a little high. I am sure glad I bought it. Like it a lot better than the supplied window mount. Also, there is no telltale window ring, so it doesn't give away that you have a gps at a glance. I place it on my messy console with a dark hat over it & it becomes hard to notice through the tinted windows. With the way things are GPSs are a hot item. Bought a 2nd one for my son's. Very stable on the dash, actually better than the window mount!

Easily set up the little beanbag-like Garmin GPS mount on your dashboard, and you'll never see a slip or a slide. It holds onto the dash like it was super glued on, but it can be removed in a second. Just the thing if you don't want a permanent attachment cemented to the top of the dash. Jam on the brakes or screech around a corner -- the little friction mount remains right where you originally put it.

I bought this to use with my Garmin Nuvi and I am thrilled with it. I knew the law in California that you can't put the GPS on your windshield, so I wanted an accessory to avoid that. I found this at BestBuy.com and didn't think it was very expensive and it looked sturdy, so I bought it. I am pleased with the durable construction. It sits perfectly on my dashboard and you can rotate it to just the angle you want. I never go anywhere without my Garmin Nuvi or my Garmin Portable Auto Friction Mount.

Everybody I talked to loved their bean bag mount. I was worried about it slipping around the dash but it dosen't happen. Salesman said you'd have to roll your car to get it to slip off & after a month using it I agree. I recommend it to anyone who uses a GPS.

Works Great! Easily move your GPS from one car to the next. Friction mount does not slide, even in sharp turns.

I purchased a GARMIN gps for a trip we took to South Dakota. I didn't like the window mount so I decided to purchase the dashboard mount. This is very easy to assemble and use, and very easy to conceal. Great product!! I would purchase another one if something happened to the original or possibly for my other car.
