I use this to place the GPS on the dash board. It is pretty easy to attach-detach. It is light and it isn't very large so it is very portable. It really grips the surface of the dash board and doesn't move around at all.

The cheap little stick-on mount that comes with the GPS is worthless. This mount is quick and simple and can be quickly removed so that no one knows you have a GPS. We all know that the circle mark on your windshield is a big "HEY, I have a GPS in here, please break in and steal it". If your worried about the mount sliding across your dash, I have taken some pretty sharp turns and this thing doesn't budge.

Lot better then placing it on the windshield. Can sit it in the corner of windshield and it doesn't bother passenger's vision. Drove 3 hrs did not move.

Very sturdy and very well made. This is not a light weight holder, this thing is HEAVY!

Bought this for my spouse since she has a hard time reaching the windshield to connect the suction attachment. Was a little skeptical that this would stay put but it works very well. Only once or twice has it fallen off the dash and that was really due to a rough road and vibrations that eventually moved the holder to the edge of the dash.

If you want to use your Garmin in multiple vehicles, or can't mount well on the windshield or dash, this method of Mounting is a godsend. Before I found this I purchased four different styles, each saying proudly that they would work. They didn't! This one works both in my car and in my RV. The GPS is secure and I can see it when needed.

I bought this to go with my new gps. it has worked perfectly on every dash i've put it. absolutely no slips. it has adjustable features so you can tilt it anyway that suits you. unlike the windshield mount, it doesn't block driver's view nor advertise to thieves that you might have a gps hiding under the seat. i toss it in my glove box. this is a no brainer - get it.

I purchased this because I didn't want to leave suction cup marks on my windshield. I was skeptical of this working because my dash has a radius in it and it is always Armor-Alled. This bean bag stayed in place and took the bumps, sharp turns like a champ. If your looking for an alternative to the suction cup mount this is the product to buy.

I didn't hesitate to buy this Garmin Portable Friction Mount the first time I saw it in your ad. First of all, my Honda Odyssey and my Garmin Nuvi 350 are my best investments so I have to take care of them the best way I can. Using this garmin portable friction mount means "No sticky marks on windshield and no dropping of Nuvi. Great invention.

Had to get this, it's illegal in Virginia to mount on the windshield, and this was the perfect solution.

This item works just fine. It stays put on the dash without having the GPS mount suctioned to your windshield...however, I got a deal on this...I would not have paid the list price of 49.99

I drive a truck and this works perfectly. Stays in place. I never liked the suction cup attachment, always fell off of my glass.

This is an excellent product. It sits right where you put it and it never moves - no matter how sharp a turn you make or if you have to stop quickly. It remains where you put it. Its fully adjustable and it provides you a range of angles for viewing comfort. I bought 2 for the 2 Garmins I purcahsed.

This was able to help me use my GPS without worrying about hooking it onto the windshield and then taking it off the windshield. It sits nicely on your dashboard or can sit on a front seat and is very easy to plug into so that you can use your GPS with ease.

This GPS has a big screen and is easy to use. Sometimes I use it along my old GPS just to see the comparison and there is no question this is superior. The map display and the instructions are both clear. I can easily use it to find nearby restaurants, gas stations, stores etc. I love it.

this item is a must if you dont like the ones you have to stick on your winshield as they leave marks and you have to keep cleaning the winshield with this you just set it on your dashboard and your rdy to go

After trying several car mounts for my Garmin 2597 LMT with no luck. I decided to try this one and I am so happy that I did. It works perfectly. It doest slide or move around like the window or the air conditioner vent mounts. I highly recommend!

Like everyone I read the reviews and the biggest issue seemed to be it not staying stationary for the small number of 1 or 2 star reviews. Not sure what type or finish on their dashboard. But on my Sonata it worked perfectly. Tested sudden stops, sharp turns. It didn't move at all. I use a large screen Garmin NuviCam so it isn't the smaller type unit. Installation was literally 90 seconds. Granted I think the price should be more like $15 dollars but it does the job and does it well. I wanted to replace the suction cup windshield mount because it was too far forward to comfortably enter addresses. This unit brings it within easy reach and obstructs less of the view out the windshield. Good decision to buy!

Got this to avoid a window mount for our GPS. On a Prius the window really slopes and makes the placement difficult. With the Friction Mount just plop it on top of the center display and you are done. When leaving the car slip it under the front seat and walk off. Great!!!
