We recently replaced our old Garmin with the new nüvi® 2797LMT. Our old mount used a suction cup and periodically came loose, allowing the unit to fall to the floor of the car. This may have been partly the cause of it's demise. Our new unit is the 7" model and somewhat heavier, so we were concerned about the mount. This is the mount suggested by Garmin, so we tried it, and were more than pleased. It is very stable. Only the largest bumps cause it to move, and then only slightly. I have no reservations recommending this model.

Does what it is supposed to do. Nice. After use it can be put in glove box or taken with you. Nothing left in vehicle to indicate that you have a GPS.

I wondered if it would work on my buick slanted dash. It has worked with no slipping even on sharp curves or hard stops. It is handy not to have to stretch to the windshield to reach my gps device.

A great subsitution to mounting it to the windsheild and it will not move around at all.

The Garmin vehicle mount is a lot better than the windshield suction mounts.I'm happy I bought it.

I much prefer this to the window mount unit. It is easy to set up and store when not needed or when leaving your car.

The mount works well on a dash mat does not move and do not have to lock down.

I have a large SUV with an ample amount of dash board space and the mount was a perfect fit for my vehicle. I didn't like the suction cup mount and this purchase allowed me the flexibility to place my GPS on the left of the dash instead of the middle eliminating a potential blind spot. For large SUV's its an ideal product.

This mount exceeded my expetations....works great. Does not slide around on the dash, holds it steady, and much more convenient than windshield mount. I highly recommend this item...only wish that I could say the same about the Garmin NUVI....it sucks!

This is promoted as a "friction mount" on the box. I was hesistant to buy it not undertanding how it would work, as the suction cup mount that was included with the GPS would not stay attached to the front glass.. However, this mount is more of a bean bag weight that holds the GPS on the dashboard. Works very well. It hasn't slipped yet.

It holds the GPS without sliding around on the dashboard. It's very easy to attach to the holder also.

Bought this for a new Garmin 265W. Already have a similar one for a Garmin 760. Make sure it's appropriate for your model; there are different ways to connect power source. Both models work great on both Chevy Van and Toyota Minivan dash. No sliding around. Easily adjustable for easy viewing. Easy to put whole unit on the floor so it's out of sight.

Great mount for multiple cars easy to adjust stays in place . No suction cup marks on windshield . You can set GPS and mount on floor when shopping no one can see a empty mount on windshield . Have used for about 3 weeks have not found any cons for this mount. 8/8/12

Overall quality is good. Price is expensive for what it is. Wished it had an integrated power connection.

Love it so far. Has not moved an inch -- even taking corners quickly to "test" it.

I use my GPS in 3 cars plus occasional rentals. The transfer of the suction cup mount was always problematic in cold weather. This is the best solution I have found and there is no slippage or sliding what so ever. The downside is the size but it still stores in the arm rest and for travel the "neck" of the mount is removable so it can be broken down and put in a brief case.

I bought the other garmin friction mount first and it sucked. It did not form to my dash in either the trailblazer or uplander. I immediately took it back and purchased this. ( even three dollars cheaper!) I put it on my dash and took some hard corners, this thing doesn't move! I am glad I bought it.
