Nice build and screen but unreliable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have mixed feelings over this watch. As a fitness tracker, it’s (seemingly) very feature rich. As a smartwatch, it’s very feature poor. Physically, the watch is well-constructed, has a nice large display, a vibrant screen, easily accessible buttons, and a responsive touch-screen. It has a heart rate sensor, tracks steps (kinda . . . more on that later), tracks sleep, monitors calories burned, allows you to receive text messages and notifications, allows you to make and receive calls (kinda - initiating a call from my watch just dialed my phone when I tried it), and monitors stress. The watch uses two apps to function: Garmin Connect and Garmin Connect IQ. Garmin Connect gives you access to all of the various metrics that the watch is collecting. Garmin Connect IQ gives you access to the “apps” that the watch can run as well as giving you the ability to customize your own watch faces (to a point). The watch’s apps are limited to a few music streaming services, some additional watch faces, some GPS / navigation apps, and a few other fitness oriented odds and ends. Almost everything costs extra. Even the ones that are seemingly free (i.e. Spotify) require a premium subscription to use. There are seemingly no games, no news apps, no social media apps, no video streaming services . . . the store feels rather barren. Modifying your own watch face is cool, but it has some strange limitations within the app. First, the design area is smaller than the watch face. You can line everything up perfectly, but when you send it to your watch, it’s scaled slightly differently. Next, when changing the color of the time, it only changes the digits to the right of the colon. Font options are also extremely limited, and they don’t allow you to rescale elements like the time. Finally, it can take multiple attempts to send the custom watch face over. It seems to hang at the upload, and the watch face won’t show up until maybe ten minutes later. As far as usage goes . . . I lift three days a week and do light cardio five. I train to run/walk 5Ks a couple times a year. Up until now, I’ve been using a fairly feature-rich/budget fitness tracker, and I aim for around 12,000 steps a day just for health and fitness. I also monitor my heartbeat fairly religiously during cardio workouts to make sure that I’m staying within my target range. I found that this watch’s pedometer utterly failed to register steps below a certain speed. I’d be jogging on the treadmill, and everything would register just fine, but as soon as the treadmill hit the last segment of the final cooldown (1.6 mph), the tracker wouldn’t register any steps whatsoever. I may as well have been standing still. This is reflected in my daily steps as well. It is barely recording anything. This is disastrous from my point of view and has me seriously considering switching back to my old tracker. The watch comes with an “app” for strength training that basically counts reps for you and monitors your heart rate at the same time (a bit strange as I don’t normally associate strength training with heart rate monitoring - that’s more of a cardio thing). I found this to be fairly useless, and it utterly fails to capture reps on things like leg presses. From a hardware standpoint, this is a very nice watch . . . but I can’t recommend it. It’s not very good as a smart watch, and (for me at least) it’s failing at its primary function as a fitness tracker since it can’t even properly record steps.

A lot of amazing functions in a watch
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used a variety of health/fitness trackers over the years but I have to say the Venu 3 is head and shoulders above any I have ever used. Not even sure where to start I'll go basic. Most basic it is a watch. The display screen is very clear and easy to read. It also has Wi-Fi and GPS, more on that later. It is comfortable to wear with a rubber/silicone band that is easy to adjust. As for functions, it has a lot! Some I am still learning about but here is a quick list: heart rate, body battery (still learning this one), stress level (seems to be on point!) Intensity minutes, step count, floors climbed count calories and respiration. Not only is it available on the watch but the mobile app lets you dive into details. Want to know your fitness age, somehow it calculates that too. It even gives suggestions on what to do to make improvements like increase vigorous activity by .5 days per week or reduce your BMI including if something is a high priority. It also provide immediate feedback letting you know when you have reached a milestone. Some I am now reaching and don't realize I was even close until I see the notification. Gives me an incentive to keep going. It provides so much information that it could be overwhelming but my suggestion is to take it a little bit at a time and you will quickly see the benefits of all the functions and features of this watch.

Great for anyone!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for a smartwatch/fitness tracker, definitely consider the Garmin - Venu 3. The level of health-related information that you will have available at a moment's notice is incredible. From hear rate, stress, HRV, and even sleep data, the Garmin - Venu 3 does it all. At the moment, I am extremely stressed out (waiting on bar results). The Garmin - Venu 3 for sure knows I'm stressing because I am constantly alerted about my stress haha. I was really surprised when I first received the notification. The informed watch face will display weather, sun rise/set, HBM, and so much helpful data. I really love having all of this information right on my wrist. While setting the watch up, I was surprised to find that this watch can be set to wheelchair mode for more accurate tracking. So, the Garmin - Venu 3 is really made for anyone. Another plus is how light and comfortable the watch is. This is a big plus for me. As for the cons, the first one is the fact that you will need multiple apps to get the watch setup all the way. When trying to setup music apps and the watch face, you are redirected to the app store to download a completely different app. To cap it off, the music services that are available are extremely limited. IOS users, you are limited on functions with the Garmin - Venu 3. Apparently, Android users are able to text from the watch, but I haven't found a way to do this with my iPhone. Battery life is pretty good. I've worn the battery for about one week and the battery is at around 30%. Overall, the Garmin - Venu 3 is a great fitness tracker. The level of information that you get from it is incredible. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Buy it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was worried about how I would like this watch since I’m a hard core apple customer. I honestly only purchased this because I wanted a round watch. It is by far much better than the Apple Watch. It tells you so much about your health and body. I only have to charge it about 1 or 2x a week. My favorite feature about Apple Watch was the find my phone…. I didn’t realize this for a few days but the garmin does it as well!

Definitely recomend!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the Forerunner 55 prior to the Venu 3 and just got the Venu 3 today. Haven’t used it much but I played around with it a little when i got home. When comparing the 2, id definitely recommend the Venu 3 to anyone who is looking. I also have an Apple watch series 9 that i compared it to. I was looking for a watch that wouldn’t disturb me with notifications at work or when I’m busy, that I could use to track everything like my steps and sleep, and this works perfectly. If you’re looking for something that’s made primarily to track your health but can also give you your notifications from your phone, this is the way to go. I also love having the touchscreen. The 2 Garmins don’t have a lot of differences but theyre big enough that it matters which one you choose between the 2. I’ll definitely be using it more than ill be using my Apple watch but itll be helpful to keep it for when i have to charge my Venu. I hope this was helpful for anyone who is comparing products

Best of both world!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for a smartwatch with: good battery life (10 days), regular use bright AMOLED screen some smartwatch function (voice assistant, notification, and music) tried and true Garmin fitness apps This is the watch for you! If you do not have a need for ultra-athlete features (i.e., dual-band GPS and titanium shell), you don't need higher-tier Garmin watches like Fenix or Epix. And let's be real: more than seven days of battery life on a vibrant screen is plenty, considering you can just pop it on a charger once a week during a shower, which is enough for another week's worth of charge.

Decent upgrade
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from Venu 2. Initial debate was if new version had enough improvements to make it with changing. I suppose that question is answered by a couple things. One, being cost. It's a big step. That being said, things like speaker, ability to take and make calls are real nice. I feel like the sleep tracking is better, more accurate. Battery life is better. A few more app options are nice

What’s not to love!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my new Garmin Venu 3. It has so many more features over the Vivoactive HR I’ve been wearing the last 5+ years. The screen can be seen out in the sun which is so much better than my prior watch.

Venu 3
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the watch for what it is. I don't as a rule need all the maps but it would be nice to have if the time came. Add a wall charger to the package though. I replaced the silicon band with stainless steel because I was getting a rash. But I did the same thing with a FitBit for same reason
