||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Stopped working after 4 months. The screen went black and won’t come back in I’ve tried everything under the sun. Very frustrating spending 649 on a watch only to last 4 months. Garmin you can do better.

Garmin outdid itself
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Garmin really outdid itself with this smartwatch. The Venu 3 is sleek, lightweight, full of surprises and is way better than I anticipated. The OS is fairly straightforward and definitely not overwhelming. In all honesty I did not expect much when I opened the packaging. When I opened the box it did not feel like the box matched the goodness I was yet to find inside. There are two apps you will want and need to download. One is the actual fitness app. It is called Connect. This will allow you to manage most anything ON the watch and track your fitness stats. Why did I capitalize ON? In order to download apps or watch faces you will need a second 'store' app called Connect IQ. Most of the store is watch faces, but there are quite a few apps to peruse and try out. Interestingly enough most payments are done outside the app and directly with the developer. There is a proprietary charging cable included, it plugs into a USB Type C port on PC or if you have a wall charger of that type. Charging is pretty quick. A full charge is lasting me about 2 weeks after I adjusted the alerts I was getting. No need for every social media post to pop up on my wrist. Unfortunately Garmin did not explain the navigation well in their tutorial. If you long press a button, for instance bottom right, you can change the watch face from the watch itself. Unfortunately i could not find anywhere in the Connect apps to do this other than uninstall and reinstall which loses any custom settings. The other options under the long press bottom right include Clocks and Settings. Long pressing the middle button will open your assistant of choice. Alexa, Google, Siri, etc. Long pressing the top right will get you into Controls. This includes Volume, Brightness, Power Off, etc. It also has a edit button to change what is available in the menu. Pressing bottom and top together will do a screen shot. To edit what app notifications you get on the watch, go into the Connect app and navigate to More | Settings | Notifications | App Notifications There are so many features i am just going to hit a few: - Wheel chair mode for anyone that uses a wheel chair. Might be the first watch I have seen this on. - Answer and make phone calls with your paired phone. Sound is not overbearing if not using headphones, you could have issues hearing in a crowded area though. - Play music from your watch. You can have local music or use a streaming service. The different services are available in the Connect IQ store. - Sleep score - If you can sleep with a watch on, this will monitor pretty accurately your sleep patter. - Pulse Ox - I went to the doctor and tested while they tested mine, pretty exact. - Body Battery - very cool feature that lets you know when you are getting tired, when you need to move, etc. Eerily accurate also. - Respiration once again, very accurate. Overall this is a very attractive watch by itself. With all the built in functions it is a fantastic smart watch. The display is sharp and clear. It feels like it can take a beating. I highly recommend the Venu 3.

Love the Venu 3!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m loving my Venu 3 so far! Fitness tracking is 2nd to none. I love seeing all the stats on my workouts after I’m finished. Sleep tracking has been quite accurate and is helping me improve my quality of sleep. The body battery gives you a good idea on how much energy you will have throughout the day. Watch battery life has been great lasting a solid week with normal use. I found a free watch face that I like and customized the widgets to my liking. It would be nice if Garmin would add a bigger variety to the free watch face selections. A couple of minor gripes I have would be that there are two apps you have to download to get full customization of your watch. Garmin Connect app which shows all of your watches internal information and Connect IQ app which is where you get a plethora of watch face options (many of which you have to pay for) I wish Garmin would consolidate everything into one app. Also, my final gripe is I wish Garmin Pay would add Citi Bank as a compatible Bank. My Citi Card is my main card I use which essentially makes Garmin Pay useless to me. Overall, I still love it and I would recommend it to anyone who is more fitness oriented and wants a great alternative to the Apple Watch.

Great evolution of a solid smart watch!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the world of smart watches, there are two clear tracks you can go down - Apple, Samsung and Google try to build watches that can do anything and everything with a plethora of apps and a ton of multi-purpose features. On the other hand, there are a number of other watches that focus instead on being a good watch and a fitness companion. This Garmin Venu 3 falls squarely into that second category - and well that it should since Garmin is well known for producing fitness trackers of all sorts. To that end, this watch has all that you could want in a fitness focused watch. It's a watch, certainly, and does a great job tracking your biometrics. I especially like the new body battery feature that measures your energy taking into account sleep/activity/etc. The watch has TONS of profiles to track every type of exercise and even wheelchair pushes for those that are differently abled. It can even provide coaching and help you understand how the exercise you're doing impacts your body, Of course it can provide GPS tracking and guidance which is nice when you're out running a long distance (or cycling, etc.). Of course you get more features when you pair it with your smartphone and the Garmin Connect app (and Connect IQ to get additional watch faces and the like), but you can actually store music directly on the watch and connect to a headset so you can go without your smartphone if you so choose. The watch is compatible with any 22mm band with quick connect pins (huge variety available in many places). While apps aren't the focus here, there are a number of apps you can add - Garmin Pay is helpful for paying with your watch at a tap to pay location and you can add different music apps like Spotify and Apple Music. Of course you get things like the weather, calendar and so on - and you can access your phone's voice assistant through your watch with the built-in speaker and microphone (which you can also use to make calls if you wish). So the choice of what watch you want boils down to what you're going to use it for. If you want a great watch with a ton of fitness focused features to track and encourage your activity, the Garmin Venu 3 is a great choice. I can highly recommend it - regardless of what brand of smart phone you might be using.

Nice build and screen but unreliable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have mixed feelings over this watch. As a fitness tracker, it’s (seemingly) very feature rich. As a smartwatch, it’s very feature poor. Physically, the watch is well-constructed, has a nice large display, a vibrant screen, easily accessible buttons, and a responsive touch-screen. It has a heart rate sensor, tracks steps (kinda . . . more on that later), tracks sleep, monitors calories burned, allows you to receive text messages and notifications, allows you to make and receive calls (kinda - initiating a call from my watch just dialed my phone when I tried it), and monitors stress. The watch uses two apps to function: Garmin Connect and Garmin Connect IQ. Garmin Connect gives you access to all of the various metrics that the watch is collecting. Garmin Connect IQ gives you access to the “apps” that the watch can run as well as giving you the ability to customize your own watch faces (to a point). The watch’s apps are limited to a few music streaming services, some additional watch faces, some GPS / navigation apps, and a few other fitness oriented odds and ends. Almost everything costs extra. Even the ones that are seemingly free (i.e. Spotify) require a premium subscription to use. There are seemingly no games, no news apps, no social media apps, no video streaming services . . . the store feels rather barren. Modifying your own watch face is cool, but it has some strange limitations within the app. First, the design area is smaller than the watch face. You can line everything up perfectly, but when you send it to your watch, it’s scaled slightly differently. Next, when changing the color of the time, it only changes the digits to the right of the colon. Font options are also extremely limited, and they don’t allow you to rescale elements like the time. Finally, it can take multiple attempts to send the custom watch face over. It seems to hang at the upload, and the watch face won’t show up until maybe ten minutes later. As far as usage goes . . . I lift three days a week and do light cardio five. I train to run/walk 5Ks a couple times a year. Up until now, I’ve been using a fairly feature-rich/budget fitness tracker, and I aim for around 12,000 steps a day just for health and fitness. I also monitor my heartbeat fairly religiously during cardio workouts to make sure that I’m staying within my target range. I found that this watch’s pedometer utterly failed to register steps below a certain speed. I’d be jogging on the treadmill, and everything would register just fine, but as soon as the treadmill hit the last segment of the final cooldown (1.6 mph), the tracker wouldn’t register any steps whatsoever. I may as well have been standing still. This is reflected in my daily steps as well. It is barely recording anything. This is disastrous from my point of view and has me seriously considering switching back to my old tracker. The watch comes with an “app” for strength training that basically counts reps for you and monitors your heart rate at the same time (a bit strange as I don’t normally associate strength training with heart rate monitoring - that’s more of a cardio thing). I found this to be fairly useless, and it utterly fails to capture reps on things like leg presses. From a hardware standpoint, this is a very nice watch . . . but I can’t recommend it. It’s not very good as a smart watch, and (for me at least) it’s failing at its primary function as a fitness tracker since it can’t even properly record steps.

VENture with Venu
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Garmin Ven 3 Health & Fitness GPS Smartwatch is most definitely a health and fitness device followed up with smartwatch technology. The watch itself is thin and sleek but the 45mm size is just that, 45mm. This is on the larger size and may very well be slightly large for many smaller arms. Just a caveat to take into account, but Garmin does have a smaller version to my understanding. The watch is lightweight and comfortable to wear with a 22mm band. The watch is comfortable enough to sleep with, which allows for night time tracking. This Health & Fitness watch provides vast information regarding overall health and tracks fitness, equipped with touchscreen display that is easy to read. Display is clear and at the standard I expect from smartwatch technology in this current age with an adequate backlight able to be read in all environments. The watch does have an apps that allows for information tracking in multiple modes; I did find it a bit intensive to obtain multiple apps to get full features out of the watch but I feel part of this is just my accustom to previous smartwatch use with a certain fruit product. But those that are available are mostly directed toward health/fitness as expected and appreciated. Of note, there is a music download option with headphone pairing which allows for a lighter profile while active on the go. I had difficulty transitioning from a traditional smartwatch with certain apps to a health/fitness watch but do see the added benefits in the change overall. The battery life is boasted to be up to 14-days, which given the sleep monitoring features is important compared to most smartwatches that if not charged every night will end up dead in the morning. I have gotten 3-days use prior to charge, but I do not like for my technology to run low on charge so here we are not putting that statement to the ultimate test. The watch charging requires a plug-in connection, which is one of the larger downfalls is no standardizations without ease of charging by convenience but rather must have the watches specific charge at hand. Overall, it is wonderful being able to access workouts, heart rate, pulse ox and other information directly from the watch that can also track sleep habits. I feel that I am more enlightened in my own life journey with this watch just believe that the smartwatch portion could have improvement but is adequate considering it is for multiple device types and is not made by a phone device company directly. I would recommend this to the right person, who is into fitness/exploration of the world and wants a diverse watch to accompany their journey

A lot of amazing functions in a watch
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used a variety of health/fitness trackers over the years but I have to say the Venu 3 is head and shoulders above any I have ever used. Not even sure where to start I'll go basic. Most basic it is a watch. The display screen is very clear and easy to read. It also has Wi-Fi and GPS, more on that later. It is comfortable to wear with a rubber/silicone band that is easy to adjust. As for functions, it has a lot! Some I am still learning about but here is a quick list: heart rate, body battery (still learning this one), stress level (seems to be on point!) Intensity minutes, step count, floors climbed count calories and respiration. Not only is it available on the watch but the mobile app lets you dive into details. Want to know your fitness age, somehow it calculates that too. It even gives suggestions on what to do to make improvements like increase vigorous activity by .5 days per week or reduce your BMI including if something is a high priority. It also provide immediate feedback letting you know when you have reached a milestone. Some I am now reaching and don't realize I was even close until I see the notification. Gives me an incentive to keep going. It provides so much information that it could be overwhelming but my suggestion is to take it a little bit at a time and you will quickly see the benefits of all the functions and features of this watch.

Buy it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was worried about how I would like this watch since I’m a hard core apple customer. I honestly only purchased this because I wanted a round watch. It is by far much better than the Apple Watch. It tells you so much about your health and body. I only have to charge it about 1 or 2x a week. My favorite feature about Apple Watch was the find my phone…. I didn’t realize this for a few days but the garmin does it as well!

Great for anyone!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for a smartwatch/fitness tracker, definitely consider the Garmin - Venu 3. The level of health-related information that you will have available at a moment's notice is incredible. From hear rate, stress, HRV, and even sleep data, the Garmin - Venu 3 does it all. At the moment, I am extremely stressed out (waiting on bar results). The Garmin - Venu 3 for sure knows I'm stressing because I am constantly alerted about my stress haha. I was really surprised when I first received the notification. The informed watch face will display weather, sun rise/set, HBM, and so much helpful data. I really love having all of this information right on my wrist. While setting the watch up, I was surprised to find that this watch can be set to wheelchair mode for more accurate tracking. So, the Garmin - Venu 3 is really made for anyone. Another plus is how light and comfortable the watch is. This is a big plus for me. As for the cons, the first one is the fact that you will need multiple apps to get the watch setup all the way. When trying to setup music apps and the watch face, you are redirected to the app store to download a completely different app. To cap it off, the music services that are available are extremely limited. IOS users, you are limited on functions with the Garmin - Venu 3. Apparently, Android users are able to text from the watch, but I haven't found a way to do this with my iPhone. Battery life is pretty good. I've worn the battery for about one week and the battery is at around 30%. Overall, the Garmin - Venu 3 is a great fitness tracker. The level of information that you get from it is incredible. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Definitely recomend!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the Forerunner 55 prior to the Venu 3 and just got the Venu 3 today. Haven’t used it much but I played around with it a little when i got home. When comparing the 2, id definitely recommend the Venu 3 to anyone who is looking. I also have an Apple watch series 9 that i compared it to. I was looking for a watch that wouldn’t disturb me with notifications at work or when I’m busy, that I could use to track everything like my steps and sleep, and this works perfectly. If you’re looking for something that’s made primarily to track your health but can also give you your notifications from your phone, this is the way to go. I also love having the touchscreen. The 2 Garmins don’t have a lot of differences but theyre big enough that it matters which one you choose between the 2. I’ll definitely be using it more than ill be using my Apple watch but itll be helpful to keep it for when i have to charge my Venu. I hope this was helpful for anyone who is comparing products

Best of both world!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for a smartwatch with: good battery life (10 days), regular use bright AMOLED screen some smartwatch function (voice assistant, notification, and music) tried and true Garmin fitness apps This is the watch for you! If you do not have a need for ultra-athlete features (i.e., dual-band GPS and titanium shell), you don't need higher-tier Garmin watches like Fenix or Epix. And let's be real: more than seven days of battery life on a vibrant screen is plenty, considering you can just pop it on a charger once a week during a shower, which is enough for another week's worth of charge.

Decent upgrade
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from Venu 2. Initial debate was if new version had enough improvements to make it with changing. I suppose that question is answered by a couple things. One, being cost. It's a big step. That being said, things like speaker, ability to take and make calls are real nice. I feel like the sleep tracking is better, more accurate. Battery life is better. A few more app options are nice
