Garmin Watch – A Stylish Shift from Apple Watch

I was hesitant to switch after being a longtime Apple Watch user, but I wanted something that looked more polished and less like the standard tech wearable. This Garmin watch exceeded my expectations in terms of design—it pairs well with business attire and feels like a true timepiece rather than a gadget. The features are impressive, and I’m still exploring everything it has to offer. It’s great for fitness tracking and daily activity monitoring, and the battery life is a major plus. However, the main drawback for me as an iPhone user is the limited text functionality. While I can receive calls, I can’t read or respond to texts, which is a bit inconvenient. Because of that, I still keep my Apple Watch as a backup when I know I’ll need full phone integration. Overall: This Garmin watch is a sleek and functional alternative to the Apple Watch, especially if you’re looking for a more refined, professional look. It balances style with substance and offers a refreshing change—just be mindful of the iPhone compatibility limitations when it comes to messaging.

    Make the change from Apple!!

I had been alternating between my two Apple watches. Each one would only last a day on a full charge. I decided to try the Garmin Venu 3s since it was on sale and HOLY MOLY!!! It does not pay to be loyal to Apple. I am on the 4th day of wearing my watch using it for sleep tracking, workout, calls, and the battery and it is just now at 50%. It is extremely lightweight. I was concerned about it at first but I cant even tell it is on. I love the color, too. Im a fan!

Love this watch!! I had an Apple Watch before this one and compared to the Apple Watch this watch battery last at least 5 days, is very light weight, accurately tracks my sleep, the band doesn’t irritate my wrist and while I haven’t dropped it, I’ve hit my while on my wrist a few times and no damage whereas I dropped my Apple Watch from a short distance and cracked the screen instantly.

I really like this watch it has many so many great features and gives good feedback regarding sleep and exercise information. The battery lasts a really long time. It is sharp looking and the garmin app is also good to use. My only complaint is I don't believe garmin recommends a screen protector for the face and I have gotten a scratch.

I’ve been loving my Garmin 3S watch! It fits my small wrist perfectly—sleek and not bulky at all. The minimalist design goes well with almost any outfit, from casual to dressy. Plus, the battery life is amazing—I can go several days without needing to charge it, even with regular use. Super practical and stylish!

Switched from an Apple Watch to the Garmin Venu and am so happy I did! As a runner, I appreciate the accuracy and the statistics that it gives me. It also looks very nice and is something I feel can be worn for any occasion, both dressing up or sweating it out on the track. The smartwatch functions are not quite as advanced as the Apple Watch, but honestly, I hardly used any of them on my Apple Watch anyway. I still receive notifications and can answer a call, which is all I really need in regards to a smartwatch. I also love the health monitoring it is able to do, such as ECG, pulse ox, and sleep recording. Overall a great watch that is both stylish and functional for a runner who also works in the professional world.

Just the stuff you really want in a smart watch

Here is my super casual take on the Garmin Venu 3S in ivory. It is the smaller 41 mm version, comfy enough to wear all day and to bed, with a stainless bezel, a fiber reinforced case, and a bright AMOLED screen that looks clean and modern. Battery life is the headline feature. Garmin rates the 3S for up to 10 days in smartwatch mode, which in normal life means you can go a long weekend without hunting for a charger and still track your stuff. Daily use is easy. The screen is sharp and quick to respond, and the watch has a mic and speaker so you can take calls or use your phone’s voice assistant when your phone is nearby. You can also put music on the watch from Spotify, Amazon Music, or Deezer and leave your phone at home for runs or walks. Health features are where Garmin does its thing. You get a Sleep Coach and actual nap detection, plus HRV tracked overnight, and a Morning Report that gives you a simple summary when you wake up. Body Battery now explains what drained or recharged you across the day, like workouts, stress, and naps, which makes the data feel useful not just pretty. For workouts, it is classic Garmin. GPS and heart rate performance are solid for a lifestyle watch, and it supports multi GNSS so lock on is quick and reliable. You also get helpful touches like Recovery Time and Workout Benefit after sessions, and you can build intervals right on the watch if you want a little structure. If you are into cycling, it can pair with power meters or a smart trainer so you are not locked out of nerdy data. I love that Garmin added wheelchair mode. It tracks pushes instead of steps, adds wheelchair specific workouts, and includes weight shift reminders, which shows real effort went into making it meaningful. The basics are covered too. Water resistance is 5 ATM, so showers and pool sessions are fair game. Garmin Pay works for quick tap to pay moments when you forgot your wallet on the kitchen counter. The small size is actually great for sleep tracking because it is not a brick on your wrist. Stuff to know. The launch price was 449.99 dollars, so it is not in the budget tracker club. If you want deep training metrics or a giant app store, this is not an Apple Watch or a high end Forerunner and that is by design. Who should buy it. Anyone who wants a good looking, comfortable smartwatch that kills on battery life and nails the health and sleep basics without a lot of fuss. It is perfect if you want Garmin accuracy and helpful recovery insights in a small, do everything daily driver that you do not have to babysit. Bottom line. The Venu 3S takes the stress out of wearing a smartwatch because it lasts, it is comfortable, and it actually helps you plan your day a bit with sleep and recovery info. If that is your vibe, this one is easy to recommend.

Made the switch from Apple Watch and I LOVE

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. I am obsessed with this watched. I switched from an Apple Watch and I like this one so much more. The battery life alone on this makes it worth it. I’m not use to a watch battery lasting DAYS! It’s amazing. The watch face is customizable in so many ways and looks so good. Compared to Apple Watch, the insight it offers about your overall health, sleep, recovery and training readiness is also amazing. I was most excited it lasts on long hikes so I can track the entire workout. I’m only sad I didn’t make the switch sooner

The battery life is fantastic, and I love the sleep score as well as the body battery. I can wear it a week without needing a charge. Only thing I don’t like is there is not treadmill walking workout so it doesn’t count the miles correctly

Amazing product! I was a "ride or die" for Apple Watch for years. Used it everyday but I always thought it looked ugly. I wanted an option that looked more like a regular watch but still tracked steps and many health components. After watching a few videos, I decided to buy! This was the BEST decision ever. It tracks EVERYTHING. I am by no means a "Fitness Guru" but it is very helpful to get all of the health insights plus it looks sleek and modern. The color is also beautiful and it's nice enough that I can wear to work or a nicer place without it clashing with my clothing or jewelry. Highly Reccomend!

I used to have a apple watch which would die in 6 hours. I like that the garmin watch lasts a good 8-10 days depending on activities done. I also like that i can wear it with almost any outfit without it looking sporty.

I absolutely love my Garmin! It’s incredibly convenient and packed with features that I can’t live without. The alarm function is a standout, and I love how it tracks my steps throughout the day. The sleep coach option is another fantastic feature, helping me improve my rest. What I appreciate most is how health-focused this watch is – it truly cares about my well-being. Beyond the practical features, it’s such a beautiful watch too. Overall, it’s been an amazing experience, and I can’t recommend it enough!

I have had multiple generations of Apple watches, and just didn't like the amount of completely irrelevant apps, and felt like the health and fitness tracking was just lacking accuracy. I also hate having to charge my watch daily. The VENU 3S has been amazing so far. I find the menu and apps so much easier to navigate, and I am actually getting useful data. By far the most comfortable smart watch I've tried, it's just the perfect size. Lots of customizable watch faces. I charge my watch about weekly; since I interact with it frequently, it uses more screen time and battery. With a fast charger it has a full charge in about 45 minutes. I've also swapped the band with no issues. I find the Garmin phone apps useful and user friendly. I have absolutely ZERO regrets about choosing this watch. If you are on the fence about moving away from an Apple Watch, or are debating on your first smart watch, the Venu 3 won't disappoint!

I have had this watch for over a year now. As an apple person, I had maybe 3/4 iwatches before getting this one. I will say garmin is an active/workout peoples watch. Ive turned off notifications. It is amazing and I do love it! The only downside is not many friends have them, so we cant share activity. I find it is more accurate when calculating burned calories, and steps. another good thing is the battery life! All in all I will be keeping this one for a long time :)
