Customers frequently mention the positive battery life, accurate heart rate tracking, and comfortable fit of the Vivosmart 3. Many appreciate its sleep and step tracking capabilities, along with its waterproof design. However, some users found the display difficult to read in bright sunlight or experienced issues with band durability and syncing. A few also noted the lack of built-in GPS as a drawback.

This is my second Garmin activity watch and I don’t know I keep buying them. The last one fell apart where the screen display is. This one is now broken wire them adjustable responders. Use your money towards something better and something that will last longer.

Bad Battery, and stair counter

The battery would only last 8 hours for me, I had to constantly keep it charged, I was finally able to make it 16hrs, by turning off every feature, HR, notifications, MY IQ, everything was turned off but the step counter.
The stair counter never worked. My bedroom is on the the second story of house, I never logged climbing one flight of stairs in the 30days I had.
Otherwise the tracker was what I wanted, something that could blend in with a bracelet and not look so techy. The screen going to sleep was a huge help with that.
I would only recommended to a friend if they can get one with a good battery and stair climber tracker

If you drive for a living like i do expect a lot of extra steps counted while you roll down the road. No way to turn off the count either that i could figure out.. Phone app takes some getting used to also.... could be more intuitive.

Garmin Vivosport: Heart rate inaccurate

I switched from a fitbit to the Garmin because it was highly rated and had both GPS and heart rate monitoring. Problem is that the heart rate monitor was low by 15-25 heartbeats while I was working out (not good). Went back to BB and they called Garmin while I was there and we were told they knew about the problem and their engineers were working on it. Great! In addition, it was very complicated to use and certainly not intuitive. I could never (and neither could BB) figure out how to START/STOP an activity, in order to measure my workout stats. It also would not support an indoor bike at the gym, as a workout. I returned it!

I have not liked my Garmin since the very beginning. At the time it was the only activity monitor that was waterproof. It is not easy to read.

It stopped working after 6 months. Steps show over 2000 when I only wear for 5 minutes. Sometimes I wear all day and it shows 100 steps. Clock stopped working as well. I’ve been in contact w manufacturer but they keep giving me the runaround.

purchased instead of a FitBit because of an acquaintance's bad experience, but was highly dissatisfied by the quality of the readings taken by the machine both BP and HR. the apple watch unfortunately puts both this and the fitbit to shame

The battery life sucked. It only lasted 8 hours, with every turned off. The stair climber was horrible as well. I returned after 3 weeks. I wish it would have been a good product.

I had this tracker for over one month. I am very happy with it. I think it tracks steps, miles and sleep accurately. Important features for me: gets my emails and text messages, it is waterproof, battery life around 4 days, charges super fast. I had a moto 360 watch (first gen) in the past and this little thing does everything I needed from the smartwatch.
I don't know how good is the heart rate monitor feature. I don't really use it.

Hello Chuck, Thanks for posting a vivosmart 3 review. We wanted to reach out to offer some suggestions for getting the most accurate floors climbed and strength training tracking from your device. For the floors climbed feature the vivosmart 3 will use a barometric altimeter to track the elevation change while walking up the stairs. Ensuring the barometric altimeter port is clear will help the device to track floors. This port is on the back of the band next to the charging contacts. Also please use the following FAQ for some suggestions for the strength traning feature: https://support.garmin.com/faqSearch/en-US/faq/content/ziQyOH7oYa2MrsQFReusJ6. Thanks again for the review. -JFH
