    great product

I bought my band to basically be my motivation to start exercising and stop being so lazy. When I have been sitting for too long the band vibrates telling me I need to move which is nice because I like to at least meet my set goal for the day. I love how it connects to my phone for notifications so when I'm at work and receive a message, I can view if it is something that requires my attention right away or not without having to pull my phone out. Really the only bad thing about this product is the Bluetooth connection. It is constantly disconnecting/connecting when I am somewhat away from my phone. I can be 2 rooms away and it'll bounce back and forth which is very irritating. Then when I get back to my phone it doesn't always reconnect on its own. I have to turn Bluetooth off on my phone, turn it back on and re-pair the band to my phone. It's very obnoxious. When I was reading reviews before my purchase I did see some comments on the sleep tracker. This is not a sleep tracker to tell you your REM sleep etc. It ONLY shows you a graph of your movement during the night. You can manually put yourself in sleep mode at night and remove it when you wake up. Or you can set the automatic mode which you just enter a specific time frame. i.e 10pm-6am. Then anything that occurs during that time is considered sleep. If you're looking for something that actually tells you more detailed information, it is not this. Overall, I love my band, it does what I want it too, just wish the Bluetooth issue would get fixed.

I really enjoy this product. Two things I really like about it is that you can receive notifications to your phone, and your able to wear it all day long without noticing it. I like how it sets daily goals for me, and keeps me moving until I reach those goals. I wish this product counted under of stairs, and had a built in heart rate monitor, but otherwise this is a great product.

This is the third Vivosmart in just over 2 years. All have the same defect, the pixels in the display start to go out. You lose entire lines until the display is useless

Like the size of this and that it is a "lite" version of a smart watch with getting iPhone notifications. Only real criticism is the reminders to get up and move. Not sure what constitutes moving - I had it vibrate on me to move as I was coming in from shoveling the driveway!

My boyfriend got this for me for my birthday, and I love it! I love how everything you need to know can be on the screen in a swipe! It connects with all the extra apps I use, and the connect website (on the computer only) Is really neat! You can make a workout plan, compete with friends and see their improvement, as well as make challenges! The only thing is I am on my second one, the first one would not work right and the screen had a mind of its own. However, since I returned it, I haven't had any trouble with my new one. Also it does seem to scratch easily. Other than that it is Great!

Awesome watch for people wanting to be active

The Garmin Vivosmart, Best Watch Ever For how many things the Garmin Vivosmart watch can do, it’s surprising that all of that technology can fit in such a small watch. The Garmin Vivosmart is an awesome product, way worth the money. This watch can do so many different things that it took me a while to figure out some of the basic things. I’m not saying that’s bad or anything, it was fun finding out all the new and different things that it can do. I haven’t had much experience with any of the other Garmin devices, but my experience with the Garmin Vivosmart has been awesome. First of all, the price is very reasonable at only about $100. I also like that this watch doesn’t look like a watch. It looks like a bracelet until you double tap to turn on the screen. Another part that I really like about the watch is the size. The watch band itself is about 1-2 cm wide and the screen is about 3-4 cm long. It’s not too small, and it’s definitely not too big. One problem that I do have with the size of the watch is that it doesn’t fit my wrist perfectly. It is either a tiny bit too big or a tiny bit too small, but that is just a personal problem, not everyone will have. To turn the screen on you double tap. The screen will then light up to whatever screen setting you have set. Then you can swipe to the left or to the right to see other screens. You can also hold any of the screens down for a few seconds and it will lead you to more settings and extra things/info. Such as brightness, battery usage, find my phone, running, sleep, clock, sync to phone and bluetooth connection. There is a free Garmin app call “Connect” that allows you to sync your phone and watch together. On the app you can choose and change the settings for your Garmin device. You can also see all of your info from your watch on the app. In the app you can go to “device settings,” there you click on “visible screens” to control which screens you can and can’t see on your watch. I like that there is a lot of screen options and that you have the choice of what screens you can. You can also click “home screen’ and choose what screen will show up when you double tap the screen. It is really nice that you can see everything going on with your watch and all of the watch settings just from your phone. The Garmin Vivosmart watch is very versatile. It can be used mainly as a step and mile counter, but you can also control your music on your phone from it, receive phone notifications, track calories and many more things. One of my personal favorite things about my watch is receiving notifications. So that also includes my text messages. This allows me to keep my phone ringer off and my phone away, but I am still able to read my texts. Something else that I like about this watch is that is vibrates when you get notifications, loss of bluetooth connection with phone, low battery, step goal reached, and when I haven't moved/ walked a certain number of steps in the last hour. These vibrates are good so that you know when to move, your notifications, and anything else going on with your watch. Overall I am really pleased with the Garmin Vivosmart watch. It has so many great things that it can do and it keeps me walking and moving and on my feet. I don’t have anything bad to say about it, just mainly personal preferences. But my personal opinions should not stop anyone from buying it. This product is so worth the money. I love my Garmin Vivosmart, why don’t you have one too?

Not what I was looking for

I have a Fitbit Flex, which I like a lot its comfortable to wear, seems very accurate, except the fact that is doesn't count steps while holding on to something like a shopping cart, stroller, or xray machine (LOL, that's my job) so I have to take it off and put it in my pocket, and that it doesn't have a display besides the lights, Although I just realized there was a widget on my phone that i can put right on the main screen. That is a lot better than having to open up the app every time I want to see how far I am from my goal. Anyway on to the Vivosmart, It also doesn't register steps while holding on to something, the move bar came on when I had just ridden about 15 miles on my bike and stopped to change a flat tire. LOL. It only registered 3K steps and my Flex was at about 8K for a 22 mile bike ride. When you want to see the time, you have to tap the watch and if its not on time mode you have to scroll thru a bunch of stuff to get to it. It was very comfortable and seemed to be as secure as the Flex. So I guess I'm holding on to my Flex, till Fitbit comes out with a waterproof watch type device that counts steps while holding on to something.

Good device but hr monitor not accurate

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Purchased November 1 last year at Best Buy, the first day they were available. Since the purchase I have found that the hr monitor is very inaccurate when you get your heart rate over 110bpm. I do cardio workout every day and checking my heart rate at my carotid artery my max bpm will be 170 to 190. The Vivosmart HR will record a max bpm of 90 to 130. For resting heart rate and normal daily activities it seems accurate but when the heart rate is elevated it is very inaccurate. The people at Garmin have made a great effort to resolve the issue and even replaced my original Vivosmart HR but this appears to be a problem they can't solve. The stairs climbed is a gimmick as well and not accurate. However, everything else about the Vivosmart HR is awesome. Comfortable to wear, easy to read display in all lighting conditions, steps and distance tracker is very accurate, notification features, trouble free syncing and bluetooth to my Galaxy Note 4. Would recommend because of all the things it does really well. But the heart rate monitor definitely needs improved.

    Great Idea But...

I loved so many things about this tracker. It accurately tracked my steps, it was lightweight and slim, has a sleep function, alarm worked great to wake me up but not my husband or dogs, and best of all the caller ID and text notifications. Unfortunately I had to return it. It stopped syncing to my phone within one week. Returned it and got another one and the second one did the same thing. This is a fairly common problem (google it) that Garmin need to address before I will buy another one of their trackers. I haven't replaced my tracker yet because I just can't find another one I like quite as much, I hoping Garmin will fix their bug and then can get another Vivosmart.

I like the notifications and interaction that is available on the band but unlike the up24 this one doesn't provide in-depth analytics. The up24 provided me with detailed sleeping charts to help me see where I am lacking sleep or where I am getting good sleep. This band is much less detailed.

My Vivosmart blue has served me very well! I chose the small because I have a smaller wrist for a man and it fits me well. My favorite feature is being able to monitor how well (and how long) I have slept, because it clearly tracks my "deeper" stages of sleep. I am amazed how many steps I take in a day, so it is encouraging to see my progress!

I'm on my second device soon to be third device after I send off my second one. Purchased first one at the end of December 2014 and sent it off at the end of August 2015 due to the pixels going out. No problems getting a replacement, they sent me a brand new device. Here it is the beginning of December 2015 and it's happening again! The Garmin Connect app was horrible and still has it moments, but is much improved, but when you eventually can't read the screen on the device that's a deal breaker. I would lean more towards not buying this product than I would buying it. I wanted to like and did very much until the pixel started going out.

In February 2015, me, my hubbie and 3 other friends went to Best Buy Millenia/Orlando and all of us bought a VivoSmart, after 2 months using it daily, for running in Brazil, the products (5 VivoSmarts) began to show some difficulties, for some of us, the bluetooth arent connecting anymore with our cell phones and to all of us the Displays began to fade away... Ive decided to contact Garmim Brazil in orders to exchange the product, and after a month, they exchange mine and my hubbie...but unfortunatelly, after a month using the new one, the products began to have the same glitches again... Nowadays, Im very sad with all of this, cause we've spent U$189,00 each to buy this product and now no one of us have them to use anymore... I dont know what can I do, I just know that Im going to NYC in February and probably I will have look for a better product...cause this is not a good one!!!

Great smart watch & fitness tracker combo

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This device is really a great hybrid between a watch, fitness tracker, and smart watch of sorts. The convenience of getting smart notifications for phone calls (aka caller id), text messages, emails, calendar reminders shouldn't be understated. Seeing who is calling via a single vibration on your wrist and deciding if it warrants an answer or voicemail, all without having to retrieve your phone is a great asset. Especially in meetings, loud events, etc. you can keep track of your communications when you'd normally miss such notifications with a phone in the pocket. The fitness tracking aspects have all worked great so far as well - tracking steps, goals, inactivity, sleep, etc. The product has exceeded expectations and looks great as a wearable. It has replaced the need to use a fitbit and then still have a watch on the other wrist or check your phone for time/date. I will point out that the battery life is closer to 4 days if you're really utilizing the device throughout the day for activity and/or push smart notifications. However, this is still acceptable battery life in comparison to it's peers (especially given the fact that it has more functionality and better display than it peers.)

    Battery a dud

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I really liked the vivosmart....when it would stay charged. I charged it up the day I bought it, I wore it to bed and it was dead by morning. Thinking I didn't charge it enough, I charged it AGAIN until the battery indicator was full. It died 3 hours later. I had all the brightness settings on low, auto display off, etc, to see if that would possibly help the battery life. I charged it a THIRD time, wore it to bed again. It lasted the night but immediately died after I woke up. I will exchange this one. HOWEVER. If the next one actually works, I will say that it has great features since it works similar to a smart watch. I get text/phone/FB, etc notifications, a sleep alarm, sleep tracker, and much more. I would recommend to a friend based on these features but I would advise of the battery issue I had .

We appreciate your review and understand the battery was not lasting very long. As you mentioned various factors including screen brightness, frequency of smart notifications, and frequency of heart rate monitor or speed sensor use can shorten battery life in between charges. The amount of notifications might be at fault here. If you have done everything advised and the battery has the same problem, please contact Garmin Customer Care: http://www.garmin.com/us/support/. My wife will not consider any other product because this has the exact functionality she wants. This would be a 5 star review if this wasn't the 3rd replacement because of reliability issues. All previous ones had lights go out on the display and this one stopped automatically sync'ing in addition to that. We bought the protection plan from BB and they have replaced them all without any hassle. I am going to say that I would recommend the product, but really, buy the protection plan from BB.

I bought the Vivosmart over 3 months ago. It does a good job of keeping track of your activities and vibrating when you have been inactive for 60 minutes. It also lets you control your bluetooth device which I like. I have had some issues with the text message alerts on the device. Sometimes they alert and sometimes not. I like the way you can see your progress over a period of time using the online feature

I tried the vivofit first, which was good, however the vivosmart is great! I work at a computer all day, so the "move" feature is very helpful. The Bluetooth does get disconnected a lot, but its very easy to reconnect it. What makes this device cooler than the others is the connection to your phone. I lose my phone all the time and the find your phone feature is very helpful. When I am driving, it is nice to see the next quickly on my wrist to see who its from instead of checking my phone.
