Was happy for many months, now dissatisfied
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Garmin as an alternative to several faulty Fitbit devices. At first, I loved the devices functions but with time issues have arise. I do love the ability to get phone alerts (when it will actually connect), digital view of time, calories, etc. But now with the issues: First off, I'll be right next to my phone and the band will vibrate and say no connection, and then 5 seconds later it will reconnect vibrating again. Second, the iPhone app for this is HORRIBLE (Fitbit is far superior). I constantly have to delete the device from the app and reset it up, probably once a week just to get the thing to sink. I've had this for about 4 months and I will be searching for the receipt to explore options of getting a different brand.

Sleek, high tech, and discrete
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looked at every fitness band on the market (Fitbit, Sony, Polar, Samsung, Microsoft, etc), this one had the best combination of features, looks, ease of use, and brand recognition.

Wife Loves it

Vivo Smart!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My boyfriend got me the Vivo Smart as a gift. We have been talking about them for a few months now as I really wanted something similar and because of the cost i did not get it. But since he got me it I have not stopped moving! I would like to say that this makes me move and does not let me be lazy and sit around. I do highly suggest to buy one if you have not. I like that I linked it to My fitness pal APP on my Andriod phone. Deffinalty a must buy item if you are trying to track your movement

AWESOME AWESOME VIVOSMART!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a gadget guru along with being a fitness instructor. AND..... I love everything Garmin does. Always well-thought out. I have the Vivofit and I was really excited to get this. The OLED is perfectly readable to me inside or outside. Mind you I'm 59 with not terrific eyesight. I'm a marathon runner and am outside..... A LOT! I like the new OLED screen when teaching yoga. The room is dark when I teach and I was not able to enjoy the Vivofit in a dark room. And, hey girls, this fitness tracker is cute! I got the berry color. Being a fashion aficionado, I see myself getting all the colors. It's gotta match my outfits! With that being said, I think the price-point is right on. There are a lot of neat surprises in this big step-up for Garmin's Vivosmart! I purchased one for my husband as well and he's just as happy. What you read from Garmin about this neat tracker is excactly what you'll get in the package. Way to go Garmin! I also want to mention the great online service from Best Buy! Arrived in record time!

Decent tracker
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tracks well, but the connectivity was an issue. If I walked into another room (away from my phone) the Bluetooth would disconnect. Sleep tracker is basic, but really good for what it does.

Love it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I couldn't wait to get my hands on one of these and it is as awesome as I had hoped. I already had a heart rate monitor that I used with an old Forerunner. The Vivosmart connected to it flawlessly. It interfaces with the Connect app on my iPhone easily and automatically detects and connects to the phone when in Bluetooth range. It buzzes at me if I've been sitting too long, which is funny. It also buzzes excitedly (with fireworks on the display) when you reach your step goal. It is surprisingly rewarding when it happens. I love that I can read my text messages, calendar alerts and reminders right on the display. You can't delete or respond but it's pretty cool anyway. It's really an almost-smart watch. As with all Garmin devices, you can track activity and create workouts. It maps all of the data and graphs/maps it neatly in Garmin Connect. The sleep monitor is interesting too. I was surprised to discover how much I move at night! I love the integration with MyFitnessPal, although, I wish MFP would accept step tracking in addition to activities and calories. Maybe they're working on that. Garmin's new online interface is greatly improved and it seems to keep getting better. Way to go Garmin! This tracker is a winner!

Love it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had another tracker before this one. It kept cutting off on me and I was having to resync it over and over. I have several Garmin products, like Nuvi's and handheld gps, so I know their reputation. I've found it has worked best when worn a little loose. It keeps better tracking and doesnt turn itself off of night mode when I'm sleeping. It has begun to fade and as that is a noteable problem, contacted Garmin for a free replacement.

You won't be happy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm on my second Vivosmart. First one died completely as the warranty expired. The display slowly started dying. Eventually, it got down to a few lines and would not respond to taps. Garmin's response was charge the device and reload the latest software. Useless suggestions. I really like the silent alarm, so I replaced it with the same model. The second one is already failing after 3 months. The display has already lost 4 lines of OLED's. If you check Garmin's forums, you'll find this is a very common problem. Garmin will replace the defective device, but the replacement will be defective also. Research other brands and stay clear of this one.

Great Activity Tracker Great App
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The software and app that go with an activity tracker can make or break the device and it's usability. So far I have been very impressed with Garmin on the both the device and it's capabilities and the app that comes with it. Very great product for the price point. I bought this for my mom and love that it connects to her phone so that she now hears (or feels) when she gets a text or call, that right there made it worth it.

Display Issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really liked this tracker a lot until the display started going out. I haven't even had it a year and the pixels on the bottom of the display and part of the top have went out. I can only read the top half of words when trying to read a email/text notification. I have also noticed that when shopping and pushing a cart, it rarely counts steps. I wouldn't buy this product again.

Great little fitness tracker
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a Garmin product, the app works well once used to it. It displays time, steps taken, steps to go, and a few other things as well. The Garmin app connects the an under armor app for meal/calorie tracking which is a neat feature to enhance the usability of it as a fitness tracker. I don't know if it's my watch, my phone, or what but sometimes the Bluetooth loses connection, but it always reconnects without a problem!

I wish it was better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is nothing better then buying a new gadget that is not only going to help with the smartphone it will help with fitness, unless it is a flaming pile like the Vivosmart. What a great idea. I loved it for the simplicity, its water resistance, and its unobtrusive style. Unfortunately there is no user guide to direct you at all! The app is total garbage. Spent three hours trying to get this to pair with my iphone 6s and no dice. I am an IT Engineer and could not figure out how to get this thing to pair with both my phone and app. The only good thing about this was the charging unit. Very smart design. Also note, if you have big wrists the clasp does not stay secure near as well as they like to think. All in all great concept but ZERO delivery. Back to the store it goes.

Great Until it Stops Working
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved thus tracker. I have small wrists and wanted something small, and unobtrusive that would provide all day wearability, water-resistant, decent notification set from my Android phone yet still provided a solid host of fitness monitors with a great application. This fitness band has all of that. Problem is, it's not very reliable. 6 months into my first one, screen failed. Called Garmin customer service (they are pretty good) and was informed they no longer make this band. Offered me an upgrade. The upgrade model is too bulky and awkward on my wrist. Sent it back for a refurbished Vivosmart. About 3 weeks in I realized I wasn't receiving notifications. The vibration motor failed. I again called Garmin. They offered me another refurbished model or a refund. 5 stars for Garmin customer service, 2 stars for a fitness band that gets you hooked but is unreliable.

Headache after Headache
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unless you have one of the phones on the very short list of phones they show compatible I would not bother with this thing. Firmware updated 3 times along with the mobile app updates. Still doesn't work/sync very well using a stock LG G3. The design is great but, what's the point if it works horribly?

Posted .Thank you so much for your review! Although the phones listed in our Bluetooth Smart FAQ (http://j.mp/GRMNBTSmart) have been confirmed to be compatible, that doesn't mean that phones not listed won't work. Phones not listed could be compatible as long as they meet the following requirements:
- Running Apple iOS 7.0 or newer.
- Running Android 4.3 OS or newer.
- Bluetooth 4.0 capable.
Still, it's unfortunate that you had problems syncing with your LG G3, and I'm sorry to hear about that. We release firmware updates periodically to improve our products, including (but not limited to) Bluetooth improvements and bug fixes. It's important that you continue keeping your device and application up-to-date for the best performance possible. It's also important to ensure that no other Bluetooth connections are made during the sync process (such as a Bluetooth headset). If you need assistance syncing or continue experiencing problems with this, we'd love to help you via email or telephone. Our contact information can be found on our Support page, found here: http://j.mp/GRMNSupport.

Exactly what I've been looking for
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have tried every brand and returned every brand of fitness band out there, until now! I have had this for almost a week and I have been very impressed! I like the Smart Goals and the notifications have been very handy to see on my wrist. This does exactly what it says it will do and is super comfortable and sleek looking! The battery life seems to be good as I am still at about 50% and I have played with it a lot! I really like this product and definitely recommend it.

Great idea, bad execution
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The second day wearing the tracker, I was about 1,000 steps from hitting my daily goal and then it reset itself back to zero. It did it two more times after that. The next morning the tracker was working fine, but my app said that I had almost 2.000 steps already. Also I have it linked to MyFitnessPal and it wouldn't add in my exercise calories until one day it said I had 900 calories when I just woke up. I love everything about the Vivosmart but it's main purpose that I wanted it for is completely flawed. I love getting my iphone notifications on my wrist but that's not the main reason why I purchased this device. I will be returning and exchanging for something else.

I LOVE it!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to use, has several options for personalizing it to your liking. I put off purchasing a fitness band due to their limitations, finally got an all-in-one model: watch, fitness & sleep tracker plus you can read your smartphone notifications and emails. Too bad you can't answer from it, lol. Read reviews prior to purchasing and some complained about it being hard to remove due to the safety band, all I have to say is they are putting it on too tight, loosen it up one notch & it is much easier. I have shown it to friends and several are planning to upgrade and several others are putting this on their Christmas wish list. :)

Still beta: buy at your own risk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First week of usage (I wear it 24/7) I noticed two main defects: - the display is hardly readable in direct sunlight - was not pairing with a Garmin heart rate monitor But overall I was satisfied. I did some research and in Garmin support website they acknowledged the problem with the heart rate monitor and committed to a release of a new firmware update to fix this. After one week I decided to return the unit to the store because of two deal breakers for me: - After charging the unit with the provided USB cable the battery was lasting even less than one day. I tried three times with same bad results. - The touch display is unresponsive and gets blocked. It's not responsive. My 3-year-old Garmin Forerunner 610 has never had a problem with the touch display. I think it is still a beta product not ready for day-to-day use.

Posted .Sorry to hear about issues you had with your vívosmart. We did in fact release a software update that improved connectivity to the heart rate monitor and the touch sensitivity of the device. Those updates are available from Garmin Express at: garmin.com/express
