But the screen was only half visible. I tried to exchange it. After an hour long ordeal trying to get someone's attention (how does Best Buy stay in business with such lousy customer service?) I was told that berry was no longer available so we got the all black. After 2 weeks she gave it to my son. She wanted a sleep tracker and a watch for time. The alerts are useless since it sends everything from the iPhone notification screen to it which drove her nuts. As a sleep tracker it's good. As a step counter it's good. As a fashion accessory she says its yuck. Recently I won a fit bit Alta. I like the Garmin iOS integration much better. For the $80 price I'd recommend the vivosmart. Water proof and HealthKit integration are great. The vivosmart interface is better than Fitbit.

At first, the Vivosmart worked great, however, after a couple of days, we have encountered a lot of issues with syncing to Garmin Connect and recording activities. It also lights up at night for no reason and we have not been able to figure out how to adjust the settings or turn it off.

Regarding the syncing issue you have described, we would encourage you to use the Garmin FAQ links below to help address this. The first FAQ link provides a list of compatible smartphones to see if the phone being used is compatible. The second FAQ link help address syncing issues with Andriod smartphones. The last link provides the steps for syncing her vívosmart with Garmin Express to upload data to her Garmin Connect account.

Regarding the issue with recording activities, we would encourage you to ensure her vívosmart is up to date on its software. Please use Garmin Express to update software. Regarding the device lighting up during the night, this is usually due to the smartphone receiving notifications. If she would like to prevent this from occurring, we would suggest turning the Bluetooth off on her smartphone at night.

Exchanged it for a second one and had the same problem. I just downloaded an app on my phone after that. I would not recommend this item.

The only problem was that after about 9 months the screen visability started shrinking until you couldn't read the numbers any longer.

Using this device with the Garmin app on an iPhone is easy once you've connected the vivofit with Bluetooth. The bracelet is holding up well enough considering I have a field job that exposes this device to rough conditions. Overall, a good device!

I own a Garmin Edge to track my mountain biking activities and it is great to be able to have the data for both devices in Garmin Connect. Drawback: Difficult to read the display under bright sunlight.

I like that it connects to my iPhone and alerts me when I have messages or calls. Keeps accurate count of my steps. It really helps me stay motivated to keep moving all day. I want to meet my goal steps each day. I like that it will increase my goal everyday. Overall great product. My husband was so interested in it he wanted one. Guess what he got for Christmas.

The only negative thing I've heard him say is that the band was hard to close. Over time the holes stretched enough that he no longer complains about it.
