I have tried the nike fuelband, fitbt force, and vivofit. I loved my fitbit, but it wasn't waterproof and then was recalled. I tried the vivofit and fell in love with the Garmin product. The Vivosmart is an upgrade with the mobile technology. Although I loved not having to charge the Vivofit (it has a watch battery that's good for a year), the Vivosmart offers so many great features and is very accurate as far as measuring steps. I enjoy getting the mobile alerts and I LOVE that it vibrates and tells me to MOVE when I have been sitting for too long, and it's waterproof. I can shower and swim in it and not lose data. The app is great and easy to use. I love telling people about my vivosmart.

So far this band does everything I need. Tracking steps, sleep, calories, etc. It also integrates with My Fitness Pal app. It's not bulky and only lights up when you double tap it or you receive a notification. You can also set it to turn on when you turn your wrist towards you which is pretty cool.

I purchased this for my mother for christmas. I was going to purchase this for myself about 6 months ago but I waited and got the Apple Watch. My mom doesn't need as much as the Apple Watch but has wanted a tracker for a while. This was easy to set up with her iPhone 6s and she loves being able to see who is calling or read a text when her phone is across the room or on silent. She also loves that she can track her sleep, set goals, and even wear swimming or showering. If not for the Apple Watch I would have one of these as well and may buy another for my son.

Love the Garmin Vivosmart! Great step counter, but also a watch, sleep tracker, and motivator. The device and app are both user friendly. When you are inactive for 30minutes, the device vibrates and alerts you to "move!". The sleep tracker lets you know hours of heavy sleep, as well as light sleep and movement. I also love that call, text, and other app notifications are also reported on my Garmin, makes it easy when I can't get to my phone. Highly recommend the Garmin Vivosmart, a great product for a great price!

I went to BestBuy to look for a different fitness band, but when that one didn't fit, the associate showed me the Vivosmart. Love at first sight! The slender profile fits my small wrist much better than larger bands. I really like the bright pop of color on the side and it has been very comfortable. It functions really well - steps and sleep are very efficiently monitored. And it only needs charging every 7-8 days. I use it with the companion smartphone app and get a lot out of it. THUMBS UP for Garmin!

Was a little skeptical if it would really motivate me to get exercise, but it really does get you thinking. I have an office job and when it reminds me to "Move", I do get up and at least walk for 5 minutes. Also, really like the sleep tracking - interesting to see the movement cycles. Also, love the size - very comfortable and it doesn't look as bulky as some of the other fitness bands do.
Two things disappointed in - since daylight savings time, it is now an hour off. I've looked for directions to reset, but cannot find any way to change the time. Also, disappointed that it doesn't sync to my Droid Turbo.
Overall - very happy with my Garmin Vivosmart!

For me, this is a great fitness band out of the ones that are out there right now. It keeps up with my steps, miles, phone calls, text messages and any other notifications that come from my phone. It syncs with My Fitness Pal, it syncs with my Health App on my iPhone. I can take a shower with it, wash dishes with and go swimming. Great fitness band!!!!!

Easy to set up. has a long battery life..mine has lasted longer than a week before needing to charge. The website / App links to MyFitnessPal App so you can see your calories in and out. It is easy to read. I like the alerts you get from your phone. It lets you know when you are receiving a text or a phone call. It is water proof, so I wear it 24/7 even in the shower. I have not used it in the pool yet. over all a good by.

I have had this for 5 months now and overall I am pleased with this purchase. It keeps track of steps, calories, miles, and has a setting for running and biking as well. It vibrates when you have been inactive and has a feature to locate your phone by making it alarm. The sleep mode is somewhat useful. I also like that I can read text messages and am notified to phone calls. It used to show caller ID as well, but now works intermittently. One of my favorite features is that my music app can also be accessed to change songs while running. The android app is not the most user friendly for setup and changing settings, but it's not too painful. It is sleek and easy to put on. So far I have only needed to charge it once a week before the battery runs out.

Have had the Garmin vivosmart for a little over a month I really love it .i love that you can control your music on your cell phone with the bracelet,I enjoy checking my steps whenever I want with out having to check on my iPhone. It has a lot of really great features. I had the jawbone up 24 for a little under a year before it crashed!!! I did a lot of research and decided on the Garmin. I'm very glad I purchased it and not another jawbone.. The reason for the four stars and not five is the app.its the only thing I miss about the jawbone the app.was more motivating and more interactive. The Garmin app.is best discribed as lame !!! So far great product ..

Love the sleek styling: smaller and doesn't scream "activity tracker" like some with a display. Great display: love the info it gives with a quick double tap and I find it easy to read. I thought I would like the notifications from my phone but it got annoying and I turned it off. Someone more dedicated to be connected might appreciate that feature more. A feature I find very disappointing is the movement bar. This is to notify you when you've been sitting too long, however, it takes a lot of continuous motion to reset it. I thought it would be great to give me a nudge when I've been on the couch too long, but doing practical things like cleaning, laundry or making a meal doesn't reset it. I have to walk circles in my house. One time I ran some errands, including grocery shopping, unloading the groceries and starting supper and it said I hadn't moved for several hours! I wish there was a way to set this to your own specifications because instead of being helpful, it's very frustrating. The other disappointing thing is that it does not register steps on the elliptical. I get closer if I put it in my waistband but it still misses about a third of my steps. You can separately record activities, but not by steps only calories. I want to focus on my activity and so steps are motivating to me. Calories switch the focus to food and that doesn't do it for me. I'm hoping this is something Garmin is working on changing as the elliptical is my primary source of exercise in the winter. The interface with the app is not great. In the first few days I had to re-pair it a couple times a day although that hasn't been a problem lately. It is also not usually exactly the same as my tracker. Given all that, I do feel it's the best tracker available for the price for me. On my recommendation, my mom got one too!

After researching different options I found that the Garmin vivosmart offered the most capabilities for the price. It works great and I've only had to charge it about once a week. I love getting text and call notifications as well as calendar reminders and the ability to log my activities.

The Garmin Vivosmart is a great all-around fitness tracker. It helps track my steps, running, calories, sleep, alerts me of goals and when its time to move, helps me set goals that are attainable, alerts me of texts, email, and incoming calls. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone.

Initially I considered the Fitbit but after comparison with other products and assistance from a sales associate I decided this would be the best product for my budget. I also like that it has text/email notifications. I also appreciate the "move!" feature because I am not an athletic type nor enjoy working out and between that feature and tracking my steps everyday I have incentive to be more active :-)

The Garmin Vivosmart is a cross between a smart watch and a fitness band that gives us some features (the ability to respond to notifications, built-in GPS and heart-rate monitoring) for a discreet appearance. You could easily mistake this for a rubber bracelet until the hidden screen suddenly turns on. To me, that makes it ideal for people who already wear watches but also want a fitness tracker. It's comfortable, attractive, accurate, and the battery lasts a full week. One of my favorite features is that it tells you to move if you've been still for an hour, motivating you to get up out of your office chair or couch and get your blood flowing. Really the only negative is that the steps seem to be high. That's okay, I go more by my goal than any specific number, so I just inflate my goal, but it is worth pointing out. That's also a byproduct of this thing being on your wrist, so brushing your teeth or turning your steering wheel counts as a "step." Overall, a fantastic product that allows you to stay connected to the outside world and keep up with your fitness all on something that doesn't scream, "I'm wearing technology on my wrist!"

I love it! I get all of my notifications on my Garmin - phone calls, texts, alerts - I can determine what is important and what is not without checking my phone while I'm working out or walking. Seems to track steps well and being waterproof is a bonus.

Best gift ever to all my family members-health. With the Connections feature we can support and encourage each other (you can manage how much they can see) Friends as well as neighbors can be challenged by routes or segments (must go online to create or find).
For me I love that it monitors while swimming, Seamless coordination with My Fitness Pal and Map My Walk, sleep monitor helps me understand why I feel the way I do in the morning so I can improve my sleep habits. Easy and comfortable to wear 24/7. I can manage notifications, set alarms and timers, check emails, messages, etc. And of course it tracks steps and adds stretch goals.
The only small issue is the very minimalist instructions and help, but it becomes easier the more you explore. Same with data app and web, mobile, computer interfaces.

This does the trick but the app is not as detailed as I would have liked. I went from an Up24 that stopped registering with the app and Im just not as happy with this Garmin as I was the Up24. You might be able to tell this band that you are going to bed (I know that already ;) ) but it tracks nothing during your sleep.
I would recommend for step tracking, but thats it. Not if you are curious about your sleep pattern.

I've been using this for 2 months now and have really enjoyed it. I work at the computer a lot and am in meetings, so I really enjoy the reminders to get up and move and I also like the connection to my phone so I can see alerts on there instead of always pulling my phone out to look. I can do it very discreetly without being rude to others. I like how slim it is and I love the pop of color. It is also pretty darn accurate. I'm also trying out the Jawbone UP Move for our company; The Garmin, hands down, is way more accurate. The Jawbone is off as much as 1500 steps a day! I've really enjoyed my Garmin and will keep using it for a long time.
