Just what I needed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a fitness tracker that I could get wet, and that would track heart rate. This does just what I wanted. The only thing I wish is that it had a little bit better battery. It doesn't hold a charge as long as my fitbit one did, it takes longer to charge, and doesn't give me as much notice before it gets low.

Okay, but not amazing for a Garmin
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a fitness enthusiast and well aware that I take my workouts, and the tracking of them more seriously than most people. However, with that being said, I did extensive research about which activity tracker would be most appropriate for me and my needs. I spent hours reading up on blogs and reviews in an attempt to find the best fit. I wanted an activity tracker with a heart rate monitor built in and this one seemed to be the best reviewed and most acclaimed. Now, it's also noteworthy to say that I am used to the precision of a Polar with a heart rate chest strap but unfortunately as of yet, nothing quite tops the good old-fashioned sweaty chest strap. Especially, if you want accuracy and precision, you're going to have to utilize a chest strap, and this Garmin Vivosmart HR+ utilizes your wrist to analyze your heart rate. This tracker does not have the capabilities to add in a chest strap as needed, which could have easily quelled all of my gripes, and improved precision. However, it's grossly inaccurate. I compared the Garmin Vivosmart HR+ to my Polar and it was way off, I mean way, way, way off. It took a long time for my heart rate to go up when running and just was not anywhere even near accurate. Since I take my workouts and their tracking so seriously, I found these inaccuracies more frustrating than helpful. I enjoy competing with myself and breaking my own records, so an infusion of erroneous data was more upsetting to me than anything else. I tried to trouble shoot this and take the steps to make it more acclimated to my body, but it still was way off. On a positive note, Garmin has a pretty amazing app for people, but if it is filled with inaccuracy, the data doesn't help much. I know most Garmin's are far pricier than this particulate model, but getting down the accuracy is key. I ended up returning this item because after about a month, the strap for the tracker, entirely broke off, and the straps are not replaceable, they may want to think about that with the design in the future. I was so frustrated with the tracker at that point, that I just swapped it in for a good old Polar heart rate monitor with a chest strap. I will say that it was neat to get notifications from my phone on to this tracker, and it was a great size and fit. I am a female with a small frame and small wrists, and It was still small enough to blend with my wardrobe while still having a readable screen. I am not convinced the step tracking technology was very accurate either, but the sleep data was pretty neat to see. Overall, if the heart rate monitor actually worked, it would have been well worth my while, but after trying this and other wrist heart rate monitors, I am now convinced the technology is just not yet there. Again, I am someone who wants and needs to know my target heart rates and zones that I am in, and very neurotic about it, but gross inaccuracies did nothing but infuriate me for a $200 tracker!!! Garmin, quick fixes would be improved precision of heart rate monitor by adding chest-strap capabilities, and making bands that can be swapped out, because when the band breaks, the whole product has to go back.

Lots of pluses, some minuses
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's bulky. The charger connection is tricky. The white-on-black display can be hard to read. It doesn't stay on 24-hour time. It syncs with my phone for keeping records. Seems to be accurate. I like that it has music-player controls - easier to access than my phone when exercising.

So far, so good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't think I use my Garmin yet to its full capacity. I can say, however, that it is a great product: sturdy, comfortable, easy to program, and easy to read. I recently purchased some screen protectors that I would definitely recommend to anyone who purchases this product.

Great device. Love the built-in GPS!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great device, and at it's price point, it is an excellent value. It accurately tracks your steps and it's great that it sync's with the Nike Run Club + so that you can continue to log your runs and compete with your friends. Also, the ability to see the full text message (not just the first line) is a nice advantage over the competing devices in this category. Overall, extremely pleased with this purchase!

great so far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I'm really enjoying the Garmin fitness tracker. I'm doing a lot more walking to get to and from work and it's nice to see how many steps I can get in a given day. The GPS is a nice feature as well as this is much smaller and lighter than my Garmin Forerunner.

Good GPS
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my wife. She enjoys having the HRM and GPS capability on the activity tracker. The LCD provides a multitude of information without being too large on her wrist. The Garmin app is easy to use and provides data in a very easy to see graphics.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good quality heart rate tracker but returned it because couldnt get it to calibrate. Walked its recommended time 3 times to find it needed more data... try again. Good info in the app but wasnt positive it was accurate because of the issue i was having.

Love the watch not so with the app
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Fitbit for a little under a year until it stopped working due to water penetration. I really like the app but frustrated with the failure of the watch. I really like the HR+ Better then the Fitbit but miss the easy and interface of the Fitbit app.

works great picking up steps
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.when I am walking, it counts my steps, when I am at the gym, it does NOT count steps unless I am able to swing my arm. Disappointing. I've only had it a few weeks, and haven't figured out if there is a way to sensitize this tracker.

Good fitness tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a fitbit previously. I like the look and the way you can flip through screen. Reviews said it was not well lit and I had to definitely agree on that. It is screen is not lit enough and hard to see at time. Everything else about it is pretty good.

Perfect for me
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the previous version, and really missed having a GPS since I didn't always want to have my phone with me. This allows me that freedom. I can go for a long mind-clearing walk, or a run, and really be free since I can go without my phone and still track where I went. It's pretty spot on with the my other GPS apps, too, which makes me feel comfortable with its tracking.
