The Garmin vivosmart HR is an excellent activity tracker that you will enjoy. It accurately tracks all the items you wish to keep up on such as steps, heart rate, stairs climed, time/date and serveral others. This tracker can also be worn in the water unlike the Fitbit. I use it daily for water exercise and it works perfectly.

I really like to heart monitor and have checked against other devices I own - pretty accurate. I have an issue with it tracking intensity minutes (I am working on it...). Comfortable, reasonable battery range.

It was a little difficult sinking to the app, after that it does everything I need it to and then some, keeping track of steps walked and ran as well as heart rate especially like the fact that it's waterproof

For tracking your steps, it does a good job. I think the app needs improvement, and I don't like that I can't tell how often I'm restless at night. However, the battery life is much better than Fitbit's.

This is one of the few swim rated fitness trackers that doesn''t require a separate HR monitor. I have done about 10 miles with it so far. Seems to work. You have to sync it manually which is not that big a pain but a bit surprising. The biggest negative is that there is only one 'exercise' mode - so biking, swimming, running or hiking all show up in the same place unless you manually tell the computer which was which. This might not be hard to do but I haven't tried yet so I can't say....there was a software update yesterday that added some differentiation (but not swimming) in exercise modes so maybe this will come with time. So far happy. Holds charge about 3 days without using any energy saving settings.

I bought this for my wife and she loves the smart watch features it has. She likes the fact it is water proof, and the functionality of the watch. It tracks her daily steps on par with the best of them, and the screen is easy to read in the daylight. Of course with most wrist HR monitors it is off sometimes, but overall it works well.

The product is great, although don't expect it to read the messages and emails like an Apple watch would. At least you can get a glimpse of what the text and emails are. As an activity tracker, it is very easy to use on your wrist; it is touch screen and there is only one button to change the category of information. The app however, is too crowded with information and not user friendly. My favorite features are the sleeping pattern and the water proof capability.

I am very pleased with this product, which does a good job at monitoring your walking, running, and aerobic activities. The step counter -- like most all devices like this, isn't 100% accurate, but it seems pretty close. The heart rate monitor also seems pretty accurate, too. Both my wife (who also owns one) and I appreciate the sleep monitor -- which is also mostly accurate in letting both of us know that we don't have that many hours of sound sleep every night. I have personally been using this in conjunction with the Underarmour "My Fitness Pal" app, which is compatible with the Garmin product, and has really helped guide me in a weight loss program. Also appreciate the long battery life, too.

I had the original VivoFit. Love that the newer version has the heart rate monitor and is waterproof! The only downside is the rechargeable battery. I will gladly charge it every 3-4 days though for all the upgrades it has. Definitely worth it..... I am liking the watch closure on this model as well, more secure than prior

Bought the device for my wife because it is waterproof and she does a lot of pool based exercises. The device works as advertised with no issues however the app that it synchs with on the iPhone is terrible. The background is black with grey text and is hardly readable and cannot be scaled either. After trying to change setting contacted Garmin and they responded that they cannot be changed. Needs an upgrade to app before I could recommend to anyone else. Chose this over the fitbit only because of the waterproof rating.

After using the first Garmin vivofit, I'm pleasantly surprised with the updated features of the Vivofit HR! Garmin did a great job in adding usable features like weather, audio controls, and of course step counting, stair counting, and heart rate monitoring. I originally bought this product for my wife, whom is training for an upcoming half marathon, but had to pick one up for myself as well! The only reason I didn't rate the full 5 stars is sometimes the HR monitor doesn't accurately read HR, but after a quick cleaning (run under water and wiped clean) it functions properly. Aside from that, which is totally acceptable actually, it's a Great product!

I bought this for my wife to track steps and heart rate. It gives just the right amount of tracking and feedback for someone who basically just walks for exercise and would like some feedback on the day. It gives a nudge to move which is great inspiration to not just sit for too long.

I bought this the second day it was out. I went in to buy a fitbit charge hr. I saw this online before I went to the store. It was not on display and the sales rep knew nothing about it. I gave it a try. The smart watch part is nice. The activity tracker part is getting better. This is a new product that has a few software bugs that needs to be addressed. In the 2 weeks i have owned it garmin has done updates to correct most issues i have had with the syncing to the app. The HR monitor can be a little temper-mental at times but from what i have read all wrist hr monitors are. Overall I am happy with the features and its performance.

Thank you for the positive review and the 4 star rating! It is great to hear you are having such a good experience with the vivosmart HR.
We will continue to release software updates regularly to improve the product further.
Sometimes you may seen the HR monitor not react when you have an increased hear rate. When the device is in the normal 24/7 heart rate mode it will just sample the heart rate every 20-30 minutes unless there is also a big increase in movement. To make sure you get real time heat rate make sure to start and activity under one of those profiles.
Please contact Garmin Fitness Support directly for help with any of the features of the product or if you see any other issues come up.

I really like all the features this bracelet offers. Notifications, status, alarm (really cool) and of course the tracking. Looks good as a watch also. A little bit uncomfortable, but I think any band with an HR monitor is going to have that issue. Very good battery life, 3-4 days at least and I have a few of the notifications on all the time. Only draw back, I wish there were better screen protectors available.
