The Garmin Vivoactive 5 is a great watch for everyday lifestyle use. It’s lightweight, has excellent battery life, and is very easy to use—especially for first-time Garmin users. It offers a little bit of everything, making it a solid, well-rounded choice for daily wear. There is a lot of customization that you can make to make your watch unique and to your liking.

Switching from Apple Watch Ultra 1 mainly for the battery life. Its more comfortable to sleep with and i switched the plastic band for a nylon band and to help with comfortability. I enjoy the activity reminders and the animations for those activities. Great introductory watch for non-hard core athletes. I’ve had it for a little over a month and at first i was having issues with the weather updating and the phone pinging functionality, saying the watch wasn’t connected to the phone (iphone 14 Pro Max) and would only work if i had the Garmin Connect app open. Not sure what changed but now, I’m no longer having that issue.

The screen is crisp and sharp. It's really responsive, even with wet or sweaty fingers and the physical buttons are really nice. Battery lasts a properly long time, don't remember when I charged it last-type long time. It's awesome.

The display is bright and clear, making it easy to read even outdoors. I really appreciate the variety of tracking features—heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, stress management, and built-in GPS. It's lightweight and comfortable to wear all day, which is great since I tend to wear it during both workouts and everyday activities.

The staff was very accommodating and understood my disappointment with my first purchase of this exact Garmin smartwatch a week prior. The watch malfunctioned on multiple occasions during the week and they took it back, granting me a gift card so that I could either get a new one of that model or something else. I went with the same model (for my husband), however; I rated 4 stars because although the Watch is working great; there was no charging cord in the package! We will be going back to best buy to get a watch charger this weekend.

Best watch I’ve owned. I’ve had multiple watches like the fruit watch and some other lesser known smart watches. But this garmin watch blows them out of the water. Battery life is top tier. I get 12 days on a single charge. And the health tracking paired with the garmin app has been the best I’ve ever used. Highly recommend this watch.

Better than a fitbit and apple/samsung watch. Battery lasts for days and it can track sleep and steps while still keeping you updated on phone notifications.

This watch is great, it's my first venture into garmin wearables and i am very impressed. I can't wait to start using the gps functions when i hike. So far, this watch is great! The sleep tracker has so much information, I'm not sure where to start!

I've owned a Vivoactive HR, 4, and recently just purchased the 5. Overall, I love these watches. I use it primarily for nonral workouts, walk/runs (no serious training or anything), and most importantly golf. I feel naked when i dont have it on. Here are my pros/cons from the VA 4 to 5: Pros: (1) battery life is significantly better on the 5. I was charging my 4 every 5 days at first and then every 2 days after roughly two years of use. I am getting a steady 7/8 days with normal workouts, notifications, etc on the 5. (2) New AMOLED display is head over heels better than prior versions. (3) ability to respond to texts and calls has been upgraded. Cons: (1) They are getting cheap with builds. Looks like they are making the VA 5 their entry watch, and the 4 was made better. The button are now plastic, and I've seen a lot of people saying it is easily scratched (I haven't personally had this issue yet). (2) No barometric sensor - so you no longer can see elevation during runs or stairs climbed. This wasnt a deal breaker for me, but certainly is a bummer. These watches have a lot of functions and pack a punch if you are active and want a tool to add to your lifestyle - these are just the majornthings that affected my use of it. I have yet to golf with the new watch, but looking forward to any changes they made there, and even if it is the same I wouldn't be mad.

Great watch, battery lasts multiple days and its basically what I needed in a smartwatch. My only complaint would be that sometimes, it constantly connects and disconnects from my phone by itself, i have tried different troubleshooting methods and nothing seems to fix it. It doesnt do it all the time, but when it does, it gets annoying because you keep receiving notifications of it happening. I have an iphone 15 pro, if that helps any. Other than that, its a great device.

I like the thin design of the bezel. The watch band could be less standard/ cheap looking. All the data information seems accurate. Battery life so far gives me at least 7 days of constant use.

The Garmin Vivoactive 5 delivers exactly what you're looking for: simplicity and strong health features. It's easy to use, offers in-depth tracking across stress, sleep, energy, and workouts, and keeps going for about a week without charging. For everyday wellness and versatile sport tracking, it's a great match. Just be aware that if you need altimeter-based metrics or a very rugged, premium feel, higher-tier Garmin models could be better.

Overall the garmin itself is great it keeps a great charge and works as expected. The GPS is accurate and the workout and sleep features are a nice touch. However the band leaves something to be desired and caused my wife’s wrist to break out. Also finding different or non silicon bands for Garmin watches has proven to be an extreme challenge unlike other smartwatch’s such as apple or galaxy watch’s.
