This band keeps track of steps taken and steps to goal. It also tracks calories burned based on those steps. It is not easy to earn steps you don't take so it is pretty accurate. Handles pool and hot tub well. Syncs well with IPhone. I have a small wrist and no problems with band. Love this product

I love this fitness tracker! It does everything that outhers do. But one thing. You don't have to charge it. It uses a watch battery. I love not having to worry with charging. I also love the sleep app and the steps counter. Fits well and looks great.

This is great for people who always forget to charge their bands. I have a samsung gear fit as well as this. The gear fit can do much more, but sometimes gets in the way. This device does what it says, track your health and nothings else. It is a bit confusing at first but once you get use to it, its nice. The water proof feature is nice for when im swimming. The not having to charge for 1 whole year is nice as well, though I'm not sure what I will do once that year is up. Now the problem with this thing is, it is hard to put on. It take some time to put it on. The button to flip through the screen is kinda hard to use and there is no clear indication on which screen it is on. The app you download for this is ok at best, and its annoying how you have to sync the band and the app every night or so to see your data. There is no auto sync. Not only do you have to open the app to sync, you have to go under what is essentally settings --> band setting --> sync. It also takes a few minutes to fully sync the data. So for the amazing battery life and durability (espeically underwater) you lose a lot of features like real time sync and update to app.

This is my third fitness device - two fitbits and this garmin. What sold me on this garmin was the built-in always on clock/screen and the extra long battery life. The fitbit flex bugged me that I had to charge it every few days. That doesn't sound like a hassle but it turned out to be one since the goal of this device is to keep it on you all the time. Unlike a phone which I'm OK leaving sit charging overnight, doing the same with the fitbit means I wouldn't capture my sleep data, which was important to me. The fitbit has some LEDs to show progress but nothing else. Since it's a wrist wearable device I kept looking down at it thinking I was wearing a watch - kind of annoying. The Garmin, solves both of these problems. The only missing option I would like to have is a back light for checking the time in the middle of the night.

    Great fitness band/tracker!

This fitness band/tracker has most of the features I want in a fitness tracker. I've had 2 fitbits and several basic step counters before buying the Vivofit band. After several years of counting my steps and using these products, I now have several features that are important to me when considering buying something new. I like to be able to see some of my data on the tracker itself (and not just on a phone, tablet or computer). I also was not happy with having to charge it. I would often forget to take it off the charger and would not get "credit" for an hour or a day's worth of steps! Probably shouldn't be a big deal but it is to me. I like that Vivofit has a replaceable battery that you can replace yourself AND that it supposedly can last a year or longer! I also want a tracker that can track sleep. The one feature I wish the Vivofit had was the ability to not only track "total sleep time" but to also break it down to "actual sleep time", like the fitbit does. Fitbit will take out time that you are awake/moving around and show you how much time you actually "slept" out of the time you were in bed trying to sleep! I hope Vivofit will add this feature. As it tracks when you are moving around, it could be developed to track this information. I also like that you can push a button on your band that syncs your data to your phone! One other feature I would like to track is "floors". It's not a huge deal but I did like seeing that info with my fitbit. Last of all, I love having my device in a "band". My fitbits were not the band type but were able to clip to clothing or be worn in a pocket. That was ok but I would forget to remove it from clothing and that would affect the accuracy of my steps too. I also did not like the wrist bands that fitbit provided to hold the device while sleeping. They did not work well. Having a band you can leave on day/night is a huge benefit! I've had the Vivofit band for a month or so now and have had no problems so far.

    Best Health Monitor

I did quite a bit of research before purchasing my fitness monitor. I like that it tracks steps and movement on my sleep, it connects to a heart rate monitor for exercise, it tracks calories burned through steps taken and connects to my fitness pal. It also displays all of that information and the time and date on the device, it also tracks all the data recorded in the garmin connect app. The only thing I have not liked about this monitor, but I imagine any wrist pedometer would have this problem, is when you are pushing a lawn mower or a shopping cart it does not track your steps--so I just put it in my pocket.

I like this activity band/watch. It has a great set of features. Only wish it had a backlight. Would be even better if heart rate monitor was also built in. It seems very accurate in number of steps, distance, and calories. Like the sleep pattern record.

I purchased this Vivofit on sale and because I wanted the HR function along with calorie counts, pedometer, and app connectivity. It has been all that and more. It helps me set new goals and is easy to review what I have done online with Garmin Connect. It does require that I wear a separate HR strap, but I already had one that I used with my Garmin Edge GPS for bicycling. I also have an indoor spinning bike, and the calorie count/HR function was always intermittent until I started using my Vivofit at the same time. I have lost a few pounds, but feel very confident that I can maintain my weight loss because the Vivofit also connects with MyFitnessPal where I log my food intake each day. All in all I am very satisfied and would recommend this product.

I bought this on the recommendation of my friend and overall it's ok. It's pretty basic for the money. Positives: It's easy to read, light weight, seems pretty durable, year long battery. It's a good basic step counter. Biggest negative: tried to get it to connect to the app on my wife's phone for a week and could never get it to work even though it said it had paired. I bought a Microsoft Band (1 not 2) for about the same price and it offers tons of extra content and will show you texts, calls and emails without having to pick up the phone.

I was very pleasantly surprised with the Garmin Vivofit. It tracks steps, miles walked, calories burned and sleep. The band secures easily on the wrist, and the clasp is covered, so that the band will not come undone, as happened with my 2 Fitbit Charges (first one was lost because it fell off, the replacement falls off far too easily and frequently). The tracked has a year-long battery, so does not need to be recharged every week. I wear my waterproof tracker in the shower and pool. The only downside to the Vivofit is size. It is a little larger and thicker than the Fitbit Charge. The Vivofit cost less than any Fitbit, and has been far easier to use. I would highly recommend the Vivofit over a Fitbit. It has been a much better activity tracker for my needs and preferences.

I love this watch. It looks like a regular watch with time and date, but it also tracks your steps and your sleeping habits. At your convenience you just push a button on the watch when you're near your computer and it syncs automatically to keep track of your progress with charts and graphs. It even gives you a step goal based on your past performance. It's also nice that you can wear it in the shower and don't have to charge it every night. The battery is supposed to last for about a year. The only thing I can say I don't like is that you can't see the watch in the dark, but that's why you don't have to constantly charge it so I'm ok with the compromise.

I wanted a fitness band that would also allow me to track my heart rate when I worked out. Garmin was one of the few that offers this. Syncing to my phone or computer is easy, but at times I get errors when I sync. That is a little frustrating. I do have to say that Garmin has the app and webpage Garmin Connect that has all of you step and tracking information. They offer challenges with other people and, I think, that because of the challenges, I work harder to get more steps. I believe that this has helped me to lose weight by working harder and moving more to get more steps.

I bought the least expensive Garmin Vivofit because of prior experience with Garmin, and because it seems to have the main features I want. It monitors my heart rate when I wear an ANT+ / or Garmin transmitter, but it easily syncs up and records my steps daily and calories burned. IT also syncs with MyFitnessPal, which I use. I gave it 4 stars because it does not directly record indoor cycling, but it is functional when I am wearing the heart rate monitor. It is comfortable, has a clock and date function, and was very easy to set up. In addition, the Garmin Connect website offers a lot of information and goes along with the Connect App for my smartphone.

I currently own a Garmin Forerunner but wanted something smaller, waterproof for swimming and with a sleep monitor. This product fit my needs perfectly. I wear it in the pool and shower with no problems. Very simple to set up and sync. The only thing I would change would be add backlighting but I knew it didn't have that when I purchased it. In general, couldn't be more pleased with this product.

I was looking for a small portable activity tracker and I loved through the FitBit, Apple Watch and every other new option thats out there. This one grabbed my attention because it had a sleep monitor and the battery lasts a fairly long time. I didn't want a phone accessory like the Apple Watch for my needs (even thought I still bought one) :) I recommend this for it's durability, battery life, simplicity in using and it works great with it's partner app that helps you track your progress. Also, the Garmin brand has always been dependable product, so I definately chose this due to being aware of the brand for such a long time.

I got the black band, and I really like the simple, masculine look. It is fairly comfortable and I like the fact that it is waterproof, so I can wear it swimming and in the shower. I just use it to count my steps and it does a good job with that. I also like the red indicator that becomes larger when you''ve been sitting too long.

This is an easy to use band that seems to be working perfectly after a month of use. The best thing about it and the reason I selected this model and brand is that it is waterproof. I wear it in the pool for water exercise several times a week and it continues to function perfectly. A friend had told me about it and she was right on. Not only was it very reasonably priced but it's really the only truly waterproof version I've found. It may not be the most trendy looking but it does everything I need, including steps, sleep quality and I wear it everywhere.

I've never owned an activity tracker. After tons of research, I finally settled in on this one. Its a great basic tracker for steps, calories, sleep and include the date and time, functioning as a watch as well. Not bulky at all and doesn't irritate my wrist. I'm not much of a jewelry person on my hands and wrists, so it has taken some getting used to. Its sleek enough that it goes with outfits and isn't some neon color I have to hide. Although if I ever want those flashy bands, I can buy them and switch them out. I love the large display and little flashing notification that I've been sitting too long. I wish it had a backlight display, but I heard something about how that's coming up on the next release of this tracker. Once you get the timing right, it syncs with the app on your phone right away. I had to switch from the Lose It app to My Fitness Pal so Garmin would sync with that app, but that wasn't too hard. Ultimately what sold me was the price. I would have loved to have something that checked my heart rate (Garmin does offer that feature on a different band), but I didn't want the bulk. Also all the little bells and whistles of a vibrating silent alarm and an activity tracker checking on your texts, etc... not something I needed. I have a phone for all that in the first place. So at about $80, this was a way better deal than nearly double for other fitness trackers I looked at (with all those little bells and whistles). Worth every penny!
