Obviously you can’t try them out at the store. My mother says that it is the right size and looks nice but it is not very powerful so it takes a lot longer for things to heat and that it is very loud when it’s running.

GE Mid-sized microwave - stainless steel

The only issue I have is that there is a slight smell of what can only be described as packing material heating up every time I use this unit. I did make sure to unpack the unit as directed and removed all tape and plastics used for shipping. I expect this smell will dissipate over time. Otherwise, the unit is performing as expected. It fits in the space allotted, is easy to clean, works and looks good as well.

So far I have no problems with the microwave. We mainly reheat and defrost foods . Roomy inside for a dinner plate. 950 watts so if I need to add another 15 seconds it’s no big deal. The price at Best Buy was great as was the salesperson. We added the warranty at a great price.

Previous worked ~9 years and recently stopped. I was pretty satisfied with its functionality. only one thing was not OK: when it heated I could not add 30 sec to timer !? New GE one has everything the same with differences: less weight and adding any time +30sec ! Small problem: push button to opn the door is too tight.
