I bought this unit which is rated for 950 watts to replace my last GE 1100-watt microwave after having it for ~8 years (the 1100 watt unit finally died after I had it on for about 3.5 minutes into a 4.5 minute cycle WITHOUT any food. It turned on after cooling off but wouldn't heat; suspected microwave tube) . Pro: Similar operation and key functions as my last one, so quick learning curve. Pro+: This unit has a function if the door hasn't been open in a certain length of time (maybe 30 seconds?) and you try to start it it won't start and display "food". So it warns you if you haven't put food in or you put food in but delayed the start. Con: Display is somewhat hard to read even in a well lit environment.

The display pad is a little dark, but easy to understand what to select for cooking purposes. I would recommend it.

By quickly reheating last night's dinner, melting butter, softening ice cream and performing hundreds of other kitchen tasks, a decent microwave can make cooking quicker, simpler and more fun.

Workhorse for the office

Starts with just one button, unless you want to adjust time and power. Presets work fine, reheats food better than the Panasonic that went in the trash.
