Child Proof Microwave

Posted .To disable the Child Lock feature: press and hold the “7” key for 3-5 seconds or until
you hear a beep and release. Press the “9” key and release. Press the “0” key and release. There will be two short beeps and the display will flash "UnLo" to confirm you successfully disabled this feature. For more information, review the online Owner's Manual by clicking on the Features tab and scroll all the way to the bottom of the list. It's also available on our GE Appliances site by using your model number to search. -Vikki@GEAppliances

We're retired. I don't need a child lock. There is some process for removing it - need to get the instructions back out. It's fine. It's a microwave. The pick up process was a giant nightmare, but that's pretty Best Buy typical.

Posted .The Child Lock feature can be disabled by following these steps. 1. Press and hold the “7” key for 3-5 seconds or until you hear a beep. Release. 2. Press the “9” key. Release. 3. Press the “0” key. Release. -- There will be two short beeps and the display will flash “UnLo” to confirm the default condition has been updated successfully. Kind of annoying. This is one of a couple ovens that would fit in my microwave space, and that is why I purchased it.

It has a safety feature on it that requires you to hit the cancel button after the food is done to remove it or it stays locked. That is my only complaint about it. Otherwise would purchase again.
