GE - 1.6 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave with Sensor Cooking and Defrost - Stainless Steel

This microwave was an upgrade from a dead unit from 1996 (they still made stuff to last back then). It is less than a third of the weight of our previous one, but still takes up about the same space. I already like the fact that we get more even heating of food, popcorn stops automatically with no burning and very few non-popped kernels. Given how light it is, it can be easily slid on the countertop, which might be troublesome for some locations. Ours is back in a corner on the counter, so that isn't an issue. I would say that the controls on the black/stainless unit are a little hard to read and they are not backlit. This can make seeing the words on the buttons a little harder. Overall, this was a great value.

Powerful and very functional. Has everything needed for the kithen.

Overall, the microwave works quite well. Food doesn’t come out scorching hot as our last one did which is nice. It’s powerful but not overkill. Popcorn using the built in sensor alway comes out perfect and not burnt. The only two caveats are the door won’t open unless you hit the cancel or pause button which takes some getting used to. I’m detracting one star for that funky user experience. May be safer for children but we never had an issue with raising 4 kids. Secondly, this is more of a preference, but the light green readout is a bit dim and contrasts with the other appliances that have a blue tone. Great microwave! Just be prepared to hit an additional button before pushing the door open button!

This microwave just fit in the custom made cabinet that held an older Kitchen Aid microwave. It looks fantastic and works perfectly. I would highly recommend this microwave

This 1150 watt microwave is preforming well. The features on it are great and setting the power level for defrosting is a snap.
