We're retired. I don't need a child lock. There is some process for removing it - need to get the instructions back out. It's fine. It's a microwave. The pick up process was a giant nightmare, but that's pretty Best Buy typical.

Posted .The Child Lock feature can be disabled by following these steps. 1. Press and hold the “7” key for 3-5 seconds or until you hear a beep. Release. 2. Press the “9” key. Release. 3. Press the “0” key. Release. -- There will be two short beeps and the display will flash “UnLo” to confirm the default condition has been updated successfully. For more details, see page 12 of the Owner’s Manual, which can be viewed at the bottom of the Features tab on the product page of the Best Buy website. Lauren@GEAppliances

The settings are difficult as in multiple steps to cook at a lower heat. The defrost actually cooks the food on outer edges before fully thawing. It is an okay microwave for the price.

Posted .We'd like to help out with the controls and offer tips for defrosting. We recommend checking out page 11 and 12. These sections go over how to use the defrost and additional tips for getting better results. It also goes over some of the controls an additional settings. You can view the manual by clicking on "Features", then scrolling down the page, then clicking on the link under "User Manual".

Kind of annoying. This is one of a couple ovens that would fit in my microwave space, and that is why I purchased it.
