I recently purchased the GE 5,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, and it has been a fantastic addition to my home. It’s perfect for cooling smaller spaces, and it works really well in my 150 sq. ft. room. Within minutes, the room feels much cooler, and the unit operates fairly quietly, which is great for sleeping or working. One of the best features is the remote control, which makes adjusting the temperature and settings convenient without having to get up. The energy efficiency is also noticeable—I can run it throughout the day without worrying about a huge spike in my electricity bill. The unit was easy to install and fit securely in my window. This thing is the biggest piece of garbage known to man they don't make them like they used to. From the inside of the house if you look through the vents you could see sunshine All it is styrofoam for the insulation no plastic housing nothing how to return it get my money back.

This GE unit was an excellent value. It was purchased for the second floor bedroom in a bungalow style home. Installation was good and I was able to obtain the correct position for good drainage, however, the vinyl windows did not have a good spot for the security tabs, and I ended up putting extra screws in the window frame to prevent the window from opening. Performance is good and blows nice cold air, and the unit is pleasantly quiet. Remote is a nice touch. There are only two things I do not like, but they are minor: The vents can be aimed side to side, but range of movement is limited and there is no vertical adjustment. The second thing is that the unit starts in Eco Mode, which is fine, but the next step in the controls is Fan, which turns off the compressor and means you have to wait a couple minutes for it to come back on when you try to change from Eco to Normal. Minor quibble, but it would have been more logical to go Eco, Normal, Fan. Overall though, I'm very happy with the purchase.

No stars doesn’t work out of box,worthless,worthless

Bought this unit back in 2021, so that’s 4 summers of running this thing 8-10 hours a day in the hot summer months. It cools down my large living room nicely. I even left it in the window last winter out of laziness and despite that it still works perfectly and kicks out ice cold air like it did on day one. Would recommend!
