Q: What is the decibel output for this AC unit? Is is a quiet cool type?
A: Its noise level is 59 decibels.
A: The accordion adjusters on either side of the air conditioner take up about two inches when not extended. What I have done in some cases, is not use the adjuster on one side. However, you will need to make sure the air conditioner is against the window frame on the side missing the adjuster, and you cannot block the chassis vents on the sides of the air conditioner. You will also need to seal the side without the adjuster with tape, but I'd advise against duct tape because it will leave ugly adhesive behind when you take it off. Clear packing tape seems to work well and not leave behind a mess.
A: Hi - Thanks for choosing GE Model AHP05LZ! We are happy to address your concern regarding the filter light. This feature automatically notifies you that the air filter must be cleaned. The indicator light will come on after 240 hours of operation. After cleaning and replacing the filter, press Filter on the control panel. The light will go off. We suggest viewing page 5 of the Use and Care Manual here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-5000461.pdf - We're glad to have you in the family. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Stay cool! Sue

Q: Is there a plug to drain water from the back of this AC, and if so do I need to unplug it?
A: Hello there - Thanks for reaching out about this! This A/C has a drain plug at the bottom of the pan. Under normal circumstances, the drain plug should not be removed. This plug may be removed during operation to minimize water in the back of the unit; however, removing it will lower the efficiency of your unit. We're so glad that you checked. Stay cool! -Mikayla@GEA
A: It extends about 8" if that helps
