4 YEARS, GOING STRONG
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this washing machine in July of 2020. It was during the height of the pandemic and I needed to be able to wash clothes at home. Having no connections for washer or dryer, I began my research. I needed it to be larger enough to wash queen sizes comforters. And this one fit the bill. At that time, the price was $765, so it has gone up some. But if you have the need, this machine gets it done! For real. I bought a 5 year service plan, and I am approaching 4 years in July. I made sure to read all the reviews I could find to learn what issues people had. All of the issues I read, basically were due to user error. I made sure to read all the instructions. Make sure to put clothes around the edge of the drum and don’t stuff it too full. But this machine will wash a queen size comforter or a queen size padded mattress protector. The filters are easy to clean. The adapter connects to your sink. You may have to go buy a sink adapter to put on your sink. I think it was $10. The clothes do get tangled. But I have learned after 4 years, the right time to check them to untangle them before it gets knotted. You can also listen to the rotation and tell if things are off centered. Open the door and reorganize around the outside wall and turn back on. The one down side that I have discovered in needing to correct the balance or unknot clothes mid cycle is that the machine with shut off after a minute if the door is open and machine is paused. So you essentially have to restart the whole thing over, but there is the option to manually set the cycles left like only do spin if it’s in the spin cycle. But, if you’re quick enough detangling, or you detangle a few seconds and then restart and then pause again and detangle the rest, you can keep the machine from turning off I would highly recommend this to anyone that need this convenience of portable washing machine. I purchased a washing machine dolly and it lives in the corner of my bedroom with the dryer purchased from another retailer on top of a stand. It is very convenient. The dryer plugs into the wall and I put the vent up to the window when it is time to dry.

Disappointed!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am sooo bummed, I saved up for this for a long time and I am very disappointed. I really hope I can return it. The size is great, full size and that is why I bought it. But it doesn't work well. In fact, it is faulty. It says there 29 minutes for delicates, but then spends 12 minutes on pause, with no time changing on display. Like it is frozen. I've tried 4 loads and 2 of them were problematic. Like the clothes didn't get clean at all. There is a place for hot water hose but says over and over that you can't use hot water, only use cold water hose provided. The wheels don't work that well for easy mobility. Like I said, very very disappointed.

Posted .We understand your disappointment. As a portable model using the uni-couple then yo will only have the water line connected to the cold water side. Make sure that the Water Temp setting on the washer
control panel is always set to Cold since only the cold inlet is connected. You might review page 16 of your manual for help. You may contact BestBuy delivery and have them check the casters to make sure not damaged. We hope this helps. Geoff@GEA

Not your basic portable washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m still learning about all the options this machine has to offer. It’s been great so far except, I’m not sure how to get it to use up the fabric softener in the dispenser during the short wash cycle. I’d appreciate any tips cause the manual doesn’t address this at all. The price point is on the higher end but it’s def worth buying.

Not durable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mine is only 3 years old and it broke down twice already. No enough water during wash cycle. Too expensive for 3yrs lifespan. Think twice before buying.

Too Large To Fit Through A Bathroom Door
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The most important piece of information concerning this washing machine was misquoted, by the vendor specifications, at the store where I bought this unit. A 2.1 cubic foot washer is the best compact available, and of course is unavailable so, given no other option for something that could fill enough to properly wash a Queen comforter, I purchased the new, GE 2.8 cubit Foot top loading washing machine, thinking it was the next innovation. I assumed, based on specs, that the washer was slightly taller, with a slightly deeper basket, resulting in a 2.8 instead of a 2.1 cubic foot load capacity, as widening the machine would be madness. Given that the width of door frames in the average bathroom in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s built apartments, condos and houses was between 24 and 28 inches with the 24 inch door size in very common use, more common than the other two options, it would make no sense to produce a compact or portable machine that had a width precluding use. This unit is 24 inches by 24. 5 inches, with no wiggle room. Even with the door to our bathrooms off their hinges, this machine would never fit in any of them, so back in the box and back to the store this went. The specifications have been updated, where I purchased this, again, 24 x 24.5, and hopefully the same thing won't happen to anyone else, however, for anyone looking at this machine, please be advised that it is too large to fit through any bathroom door in our house, built in the 1970s and, after measuring at a friend's 1960s home we found their doors also measured exactly 24 inches, with about 23.3 between the door frame stops on either side. Given that a 23 inch machine is the maximum that can fit through what was, for decades, the standard bathroom door size, this machine is simply not workable unless you are using it in a large, standard size washing machine slot in a garage or laundry closet and, if you can fit a 24 inch machine with a low 2.8 cubic foot capacity, you can probably fit a standard 27 inch machine, why bother with a machine that washes so much less and doesn't fill enough to wash a large comforter? It just makes no sense. I can't recommend this for anyone seeking a compact washer, as a 23 inch width is about as wide as it could be in order to be considered compact, for use in a bathroom with a sink hookup. I also don't recommend this for anyone seeking a washing machine who can accommodate a larger size washer, such as a 27 inch, because the capacity on the 27 inch GE washer far exceeds this and that washer comes with a functioning Deep Fill button, as of 2019. With any luck, someone will design a 2.5 or even a 2.8 cubic foot washer that utilizes a slightly taller tub in a thinner housing of 22 to a maximum of 23 inches, so that I can finally replace my dead Haier 2.1, which was so useful for so many years. I hope this helps you in your search.
