Inflexible Hose

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased the unit, wondering if it was previously an open box, as the box it came in was cut off at the bottom and secured with plastic ties. Of course I didn't notice that until after I'd brought the unit home. Getting it out of the package was time consuming, as the styrofoam packaging was incredibly tight to the sides of the package. Of course I destroyed the packaging attempting to get it out of the box. Installation of the unit was easy & straightforward. Models & brands aside, hook the vent hose to the back, vent it out the window with the included pieces. If all else fails, read the instructions. So far, works well (5 minutes so far). CONS - Packaging (mentioned above). --AND-- The cheap connection of the flexible hose to the plastic piece that hooks on the back of the unit is VERY CHEAP. The connection to the back of the unit has you turning the hard plastic piece about 90-degrees to lock. Of course that twists the hose and makes you reset the connection to the window. AND the manipulation of the hose almost universally became disconnected from the plastic connection on the back of the unit. FINALLY had to get my 3M Cold-Weather 3340 duct tape and physically secure it.

It was a really easy install, and it worked well. In the future when it's time to replace one of my window units, I'll probably do one of these again.

Haven't had to use it every day but on the days we did, are we sure glad we had it. We are very glad we made this purchase.

Great portable air contioner

This one is perfect, it doesn't draw as much voltage as my last one did and it's not as loud either. It works very well and keeps the room I have it in cool.

Its very affordable and in smaller room really packs a punch. Make sure you have a window to let the hpt air hose flow out from.

Worked all summer long in a 600 sq foot basement

The sound is about expected for the unit. Easy to set up drain tube.

The panels are not conducive to mounting smaller windows. The exhaust port is essentially in the middle of the panel, then the two additional panels to expand will require custom fitting (ie cutting).
