It cycle's between three levels of noise. I had read reviews describe it as noisy. Unfortunately stuck with it. Decided not to return because of going through the hassle of it. Cannot believe GE didn't fix the issue of noise, inside the door water dispenser design needs improvement to make it convenient.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend Hope the doors don't fall off the hinges.

Definitely not as much freezer space as a side by side. Biggest disappointment is there is no soft opening for the doors. When you open the doors there's no "soft spot" that cushions the stop point.

Bottom freezer layout will take some getting used to coming from a side by side. Filtered water spout inside the refrigerator not taking up additional storage space is a nice touch.

We do have an issue with the handle on the pull out freezer coming off but I am about to make an appointment to have that replaced.
