It takes a bit longer than i'd like to cool the room in a meaningful way but once it cools down this baby maintains. The bigger issue has little to do with this unit and more to do with these portable units in gerneral. If you have any other means to find cooling, avoid these at all costs. My roommate and I have two of them and running these for hours a day during the hottest peaks of summer is going to cost you. Find another way or get a place with central air because these products are just not sustainable for more than a bedroom.
