  • Key Specs
    • Recommended Room Size: 350 square feet (The recommended area size in which the product is designed to operate and produce optimal results, such as the desired heating or cooling. Generally, running a unit too big or too small for the space will result in ineffective operation and wasted energy.)
    • DOE SACC Cooling Power: 6700 british thermal units (The Seasonally Adjusted Cooling Capacity (SACC), implemented by the Department of Energy (DOE) after 2017, is a rating of a portable AC unit's cooling power. This rating is based on revised testing that more accurately measures a portable unit's performance, taking into account that these units do not vent heat in the same way as wall or window units and therefore were not cooling as effectively as the previous BTU ratings indicated (based on the ASHRAE-128 standard prior to 2017). Generally, the new cooling power ratings are lower than previous BTU ratings and can more reasonably be compared to the cooling capacities of other types of AC units.)
    • ASHRAE Cooling Power: 10000 british thermal units (The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) rates the cooling power, or capacity, of portable AC units based on their effectiveness in cooling a single room as intended. Prior to 2017, this was the accepted standard used for comparison with other types of AC units. However, it did not accurately reflect the cooling power as it did not account for the heat emitted from the unit that would circulate back into the space. The Department of Energy (DOE) Seasonally Adjusted Cooling Capacity (SACC) standard is now used to determine appropriate BTU ratings of portable AC units.)
    • Number of Cool Settings: 3
    • Number of Fan Speeds: 3
    • Airflow Rate: 230 cubic feet per minute
    • Remote Control: true
    • Integrated Heater: false
    • Sleep Mode: false (Enabling this mode sets the unit to first reach the desired temperature, then gradually increase the temperature over a period of time until it reaches a new set temperature, typically several degrees higher than the initial cool setting. This mode helps save energy while keeping the room comfortable.)
    • Timer: true
    • Auto Shut-Off: false (Feature automatically turns off the product.)
    • Window Venting Kit: true (Indicates whether supplies for venting the unit through a window are included.)
    • Energy Efficiency Ratio: 6.8 (The ratio of output BTUs (British Thermal Units) to input electrical energy (watts) at a given operating point. Generally, the higher the number, the more efficient the unit. Though higher efficiency units are typically more expensive upfront, they may offset the price in energy costs over time.)
    • Combined Energy Efficiency Ratio (CEER): 8.37 (The standard used to measure energy efficiency in window and room air conditioners by the Department of Energy (DOE) as of June of 2014. CEER measures the ratio of output BTUs (British Thermal Units) to input electrical energy (watts) in standby mode and while the unit is operating. Generally, the higher the number, the more efficient the unit. Though higher efficiency units are typically more expensive upfront, they may offset the price in energy costs over time.)
    • App Compatible: false (The product can be connected to a program or software application on a mobile device, which then receives collected data from the product.)

Product Manuals

Q: Will the fan run continuously in cool mode? I’m looking for a model that will.

A: Just got this ac and it constantly switches from AC to fan and there is a huge sound level difference between the two. Bought this for our bedroom, do not recommend and we will be returning or replacing.

Q: Is this self-evaporating

A: JUST GOT THIS EXACT UNIT AND IT IS NOT SELF-EVAPORATING. YOU HAVE TO MANUALLY DRAIN IT AND TANK ONLY SEEMS TO HOLD ABOUT ONE QUART! HAVE TO DRAIN EVERY HOUR! YOU HAVE TO USE SHALLOW DISH BECAUSE DRAIN FOR TANK IS AT BOTTOM OF UNIT!

Q: What is the noise level?

A: Hello, Great question! We appreciate your interest in this appliance and we'd be more than happy to help with the sound level. The sound level of portable air conditioners varies depending on fan speed. They are approximately 59 decibels at the maximum fan speed setting. By way of comparison, 60 decibels is the sound level of normal conversation measured 3 feet away. We hope this information helps. Have a wonderful day! -Sylvia@GEA

Q: During transport the unit was lain flat. How long should I wait after setting it in the upright position before turning it on for the first time?

A: Hello, Thanks so much for reaching out. We're happy to answer your question! If it has been necessary to transport the portable air conditioner on its side/back, it should be stood upright for an equal amount of time as it was on its side/back before plugging it in. If it was on its side/back for more than a day, leave standing for 24 hours before running. If it was laying on its side/back just briefly to service, clean, or adjust, then just a few minutes of stand time will be enough. Hope this helps! Mike@GEA

Q: How far away from a window will the window vent kit allow for?

A: Hello, Great question! We appreciate your interest in GE Appliances and we'll gladly help you with this model. The vent kit can be placed in a window opening of 20"- 46". This should not affect the distance the appliance can be placed from a window. We found that this portable air conditioner also requires a 30" clearance on all sides. The hose of this model itself measures 5ft. in length. We hope this information helps. If you have any further questions let us know. Have a great day! -Sylvia@GEA

Q: Can the external vent be used on a horizontally sliding window? Is there a special adaptor kit that needs to be purchased?

A: Yes, if the window is more than 50” high I don’t think the adapter will extend much farther to enclose the opening.

Q: What is the hose diameter?

A: Previous response is wrong. The exhaust hose is 6"! I cut a 5" hole in my wall and ordered a wall vent in anticipation of this arriving, only to find out it actually has a 6" diameter exhaust hose. Easy enough to make the hole bigger, but now I'm waiting on a bigger wall vent to complete the project.

Q: Can I add an exension hose to the existing one? Not sure 5" would reach the window.

A: Hi - Our portable air conditioners come with a 5' exhaust hose. We do not recommend extending this hose as this could reduce the efficiency of the air conditioner. We're so glad you checked. All our best! Vikki@GEA
