This Air Conditioner is Amazing!! It is not hard to set-up.

The unit cools very nicely and is quiet which is not easy to find in a portable unit. It is also easy to move from room to room if you wanted to. It has a nice style to it. The drawback that we found was that the hose detached a couple of times from the back of the unit and the window panel so be extra diligent in making sure you have attached it securely. Actually liked the connection on my old GE better so I was a little disappointed as to why they changed it. Only reason why I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5.

Used the a/c when my 3-ton unit went out. Helped to keep the downstairs bearable until the big unit was repaired. Only works in a room that has a window that can be opened. Recommended.

just what i needed in this la heat... better than putting one in the widow with all that work.. just plug and play

I returned this unit because the fan is not continuous when in cooling mode. The fan operates normally when the compressor is on. After the compressor stops (desired temp reached) the fan continues to operate for 2 minutes and then shuts off. As a result the unit is completely silent until the compressor is activate again. At night when sleeping the sudden noise of the fan and compressor activating, the transition from no noise to loud noise will startle you awake. Not good for light sleepers. Have you ever slept in a hotel with that darn window unit that loudly cycles all night keeping you awake? This unit has a similar affect. I searched the manual and could find no reference to continuous fan operation. Some GE portable AC units have an option for continuous fan. It took me some deep research online to determine that this unit does not support continuous fan operation in the cooling mode. If the lack of continuous fan operation doesn't bother you then I recommend this unit. It was easy to install, had great features, and seemed to cool well. I suspect GE eliminated the continuous fan mode in order to improve it's energy efficiency rating. Personally I prefer the option to have a continuous fan at the expense of using a bit more energy. I called GE service for telephone support but they said it was return to factory warranty. No help desk support was available even for simple user questions. Oh well, I did my due diligence. I followed GE's recommendation and returned for a refund. I am disappointed I had to return. As follow-up, I purchased another brand with the continuous fan feature. It was also easy to install and has great features including a heat pump to help take the edge off on those cool winter nights. Not sure if it will last as long as the GE but time will tell. What I can say is I get a good night sleep now with the unit I have now.

The setup of the ac was harder then I thought it would be. AC did work well but is a little on the loud side.

Although loud, this worked fairly well out of the box. The exhaust is poorly design as its too small for the stinking bracket they include and they give 1 screw even though it requires 2 to hold in place and the bracket has no holes. THE REAL ISSUE is that Best Buy give a horrible warranty for an electronic appliance and the worst part is the piece of junk broke after less than only 1 month of use but lasted just long enough to exceed the stores pathetic 15 day return window. Almost 3 weeks in there was an occasional smell of a candle being snuffed out. Then 2 days after that, its shaking while drawing extra power before crashing

Works great in keeping bedroom cool. However it does use a lot of electricity. My bill went up quite significantly.

It looked like an air conditioner that you just need to turn on to cool a room. There is a short exhaust tube that needs to be sealed into a window to dispense hot air. The tube is not vety long so ynit needs to be placed tight underneath a window. Very, Very heavy that was difficult to return.

Works decently but it is extremely loud. I wouldn’t recommend it.

I bought this for my daughter’s second floor bedroom as her house has windows with metal window frames so you cannot attach a traditional AC by screwing into the window frame. Also, the windows are wider than a typical window, so this AC worked great. Very easy to install.

Was staying with a boyfriend who has no A/C and temps were in the 100’s! This was available immediately at the local Best Buy and was the best 400 bucks I’ve ever spent!! The wheels are perfect for moving it around easily and sets up quickly in most windows.

Ease of installation; remote control effectiveness; quiet operation

The Air Conditioner works and is fine however-----for any continuous draining of the water it has been almost impossible for us to find a drainage hose because of the type of fitting needed. Having to walk down the stairs to empty this water pan will be difficult and annoying. I recommend this item based on where you locate it but for the purpose of draining the water pan---a disaster. Wish a part number for the hose was included in the installation book.

I ordered this for my daughters room since it’s the hottest room in the house. It kept the room cool all summer. We loved it so much that I am getting ready to my second one for my sons room

Easy set up for me as a 65 year old woman. It definitely cools down the area I need it to.

We needed a household unit that can be mobile, and this was the game changer we needed. We have had other units like this but no comparison to the coldness it throws out with such low energy which saves me money, and i like to save money.
