I am giving this two stars for now. I was so excited to get an old school washing machine. I gave up my front load washer, happily. I regret it now. I have yet to wash a load of laundry. The clothes are soaking - drenched when it is finished. Trying the drain and spin does nothing - plus that cycle actually adds more water??? I am trying to get rid of the water not add more. I might be sending this complex machine back. It can't seem to function correctly no matter how old school it is. I miss the 80's and 90's top load washers. Wish they still made a washer that actually works.

I bought this 2 years ago to replace my GE washer that also broke after 2 years. I don't know why I keep going back to GE. It's out of warranty and is already broken. It's always unbalanced, clothes come out stained, and now it's so loud it sounds like an airplane is taking off. I will not have the machine serviced because I know I have to dish out $100 just for the technician to come to tell me it's going to cost $200-$300 to fix. What's the point? Get a new washer AGAIN?!?! I've called GE to ask if they can waive the service fee and they said no, so see you later GE!! I'm researching a more reliable brand that actually comes with a warranty longer than 1 year and will last longer than 2 years.

I bought this washer in November 2016 and I have had nothing but issues with it. The problem is with GE, not Best Buy. The washer is extremely noisy and shakes all around during a cycle. It also is constantly moving out of place so I have to move it back into place every time I wash my clothes. I requested to get a replacement from GE and they forced me to have a technician come to my house NINE TIMES! It was extremely inconvenient and useless. I eventually was given a replacement only to find there was oil leaking the entire time onto my floor. The replacement unit has the same problems so of course I asked for a refund. GE will not return the very poorly made product and give me my money back. Don't buy this machine and get stuck with a piece of junk!!

This washer was a great price at best buy but I bought this washer end of January and first week of June it stops spinning and clothes are sopping wet. I did not overload it. Just one king size blanket and a towel and it doesn't work anymore. Very unreliable. Now I have to wait a week to get someone out here to look it. Very inconvenient. My last GE washer - same problem. GE you gotta do better. For the amount of money appliances are - this should work for at least 3 yrs without issue.

I purchased this washer in July, 2017 and should have returned it from day one! Nothing but trouble! I have spent countless hours on the phone with their terrible service customer service department and meeting technicians to repair the machine. WASTED so much money and time trying to resolve the issues which are too many to list! It would take me days to write everything that has happened with this CRAP of a machine! I was a first time and now a last time customer of GE!!!!!!! RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM GE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This thing will not wash towels or sheets. It always becomes unbalanced and turns off . I have used every setting including the towel & sheet setting & bulky items setting!. , I constantly rearrange the contents with no success. Sometimes I even load only 2 to 3 towels to try and get them damp & not soaking wet. This thing is junk!

I purchased this Washing Machine, which I consider an "Upper End Top Load Washer". When I went to connect the drain hose as recommended in the installation instructions, the hose would not reach the laundry drain, it is too short by about a foot. The installation instructions directed me to purchase a 43 Inches extension from GE, P/N WH49X301. I called GE at 1-800-626-2005 and I was SHOCKED when I was told the price would be $36.25 + Tax and Shipping. It is a plastic drain hose kit that I am sure cost less than $5.00 to manufacture.

Just got this today and have already decided to get rid of it. I had a GE before which worked fine so I decided to stick with this brand. This is the loudest washing machine I have ever heard. It’s louder than my television in another room with the laundry door closed! It’s so loud I can’t stand it. When it’s washing it sounds like a cat is being strangled over and over again. I can’t take it. Hopefully I’ll find a better less noisy one to exchange it for. Not happy with this washer at all.

Got this piece of junk about a year ago. It has left my clothes stinking from the first try -- and even after 2 or 3 washes, whether big or small loads. Spin cycle doesn't wring out nearly enough water. Set it on spin cycle again to try to get enough water out, and it adds water! All sorts of stupid controls that don't do what they say. HAVE SUFFERED ENOUGH! My new washer (purchased elsewhere) will be delivered tomorrow. DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER!!! (Unless you like to stink.)

Love that it has auto fill & deep fill for the tub. Also has a quick wash feature, which I wasn't aware of prior to purchase that I love!

I hate this washing machine. It intermittently does not seem to spin the clothes and I go in to find them sopping wet. Also, the detergent does not consistently dissolve well in this machine, leaving globs of detergent on the clothes. Who has time to wash the same clothes twice?! Not to mention the fact that it doesn't seem to get my clothes very clean - probably not helped by the fact that the detergent is not dissolving well. I've called the GE repair, but since these problems aren't consistent, I'm sure they'll conclude that the machine works fine. Which it definitely doesn't. I've used a lot of washing machines in my lifetime and this one is the worst. I really regret buying this machine.

It worked great for about a year now it has stopped spinning. I have done the reset and it worked for few loads and now it won’t spin at all.

Washer delivered Jan 25th 2017, Date of review is Feb 10, 2018. Washer becomes unbalanced very easily even with a small load, water drains frequently from somewhere under the washer and leaks all over the washroom, this happens at least 1 out of 10 uses. Today is just over 1 year since we had the washer and the water cannot drain. I suspect it has something to do with the lid lock because I can hear the switch clicking but the light does not show it's locked. Had to manually drain water with siphon and when the water from the drum was gone, the washer drain pump kicked in and started draining the excess water that is under the drum and could not be turned off even after I pulled the plug to reset and plugged back in. Now it is stuck on drain mode regardless of what the dial setting is set to. Washer is now completely useless and as luck would have it, just over 2 weeks past the 1 year warranty date. Terrible washer, will never buy GE again.

What a lemon. Purchased this machine 3 years ago when we moved into our house. After 1 year had to replace the board myself as it was out of warranty. Few months after that the stabilizing rods went bad. Replaced those. Then the board AGAIN. Now its the pump. What a piece of junk. Never buying GE again

I bought this washer/dryer set in Sept. 2018. And bought the extra 3 yr protection plan (Thank Goodness). Washer will run through a cycle any cycle , but when it is finished instead of load being ready to go to the dryer... Its like someone poured a whole bucket of water over them!! When it does this I've had to run it through either "speed wash" (which is a joke cause there is Nothing Speedy about it) Or the Drain and Spin cycle. Some time as much as 3x before the clothes are able to go into the dryer!! I have had the Geek Squad People out here twice. And it's STILL Not fixed!! Still doing the same thing. I'm Not Blaming the Geek Squad at All --> I'm Blaming the GE product!! Fed UP!! P.S. I gave it only 1 star and that is a stretch!! Cause this site said I had to give a star rating.

This is a good washer but i need help on my situation

Do not buy this, piece of junk, always something going wrong, guy at bestbuy store did his best to sell me this washer and I fell for it.

Terrible washing machine. Only good if you are a white collar, working in an office and not doing any actual manual dirty job. It will not wash your dirty clothes if you have more than sweat and dust on them. I have a king size bed and the sheets are not even all wet coming out of the washing machine. I tried every possible setting, from the recommended on GE's web site to my imagination... It DOES NOT soak the whole sheet, it DOES NOT soak all the clothes and DOES NOT work on dirty clothes.
