    Big Mistake!

Prior to buying, I compared several brands and read reviews. I didn’t want bells and whistles, or a machine smarter than I am. Several reviews were positive in that respect, but many also mentioned the extremely long wash cycles. “Long” is the key word here. I quickly realized I’d made a big mistake buying this. The Soak cycle literally sat for over an hour. It didn’t wash, and I had to “Drain and Spin” just to get rid of the standing water. On my last attempt, the drain/spin didn’t function at all. I spent 2 days trying to get ahold of Best Buy to return it, numerous hours on the phone, and then had to wait nearly a week—with the washer still filled with dirty water—until it could be picked up. Needless to say, this was an unpleasant purchase experience, and I don’t recommend this. Just got a Maytag and it’s great.

So its been almost 6 months since we purchased this washer from BestBuy. Here are the pros: Easy to use Big tub Can adjust water level, so there is no need for the HE one. Can fit blankets, sheets, pillows and heavy throws. Not all at one of course. But, it calculated and distributed evenly, you can fit and wash plenty of clothes. Spin cycle is great! Almost spins dry Has the essential wash cycles. Really no need for the fancy gimics if you're looking for a normal washing machine. The only con: If clothes are not carefully distributed or if a blanket is too heavy by itself, then you need to pause the cycle and rearrange the clothes/blanket. Or else it'll make a loud banging sound. Now I don't mind the little extra work for myself. Because well you get what you pay for. If you're looking for a normal, not fancy or extra gimics, machine that will wash your clothes, then this is the machine for you. I suggest purchasing the 3 yr protection plan well because you never know.

If your looking for a washer with a traditional agitator and not many controls this is the one. I was kind of skeptical by the youtube video of someone having issues with this one but we have had it for a few weeks, ran many loads through it and it works great. The largest thing I used in it was a full size comforter and it handled it with ease. No shaking no banging. It is louder than some other washers but its in the garage so we don't notice it. I was stuck between this one or the insignia brand but after doing some research and my wife wanting something easy to control, I fell on this particular washer. Insigina has a lot of buttons and it defaults to warm water while we use cold. Anyways buy this washer. You wont be disappointed..

After my 17.5 yr. old GE washer died I had to find a new one. There have been a lot of changes in washers since 2002, and I knew I did not want a front loader. I also didn't want to spend a fortune that I don't have. So I went about reading reviews, consumer reports, and watching videos. After much head spinning and aching to sort through the good, the bad and the ugly I decided on this one as it has the options I'm most interested in, and I can honestly say I'm very happy with this washer. My preferences were/are a top loader, option to set my own water levels, bleach and softener dispensers and good ratings from actual users. This washer checked them all. I did read complaints about noise that had me a bit worried, but others said it was fine so I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. I ordered from Best Buy even though they were a few dollars more than other places because they had a quicker delivery date available... or so it said. Unfortunately, that turned out to be the only negative in my purchase. About 2 hours after completing my purchase and getting confirmation, I received an email telling me that I would have to reschedule delivery. So I went with the next soonest date available and that turned out to be no sooner than the other stores that had the washer for a little less. Wasn't happy about that. The actual delivery went very well, the drivers called ahead to let me know when they would arrive and they arrived when they said they would. They set to work quickly removing my dead washer and installing the new one along with the new hoses and started it up to demonstrate it worked. They were professional and friendly. Having a week and half worth of laundry to catch up on, I got to really test it out and this washer is IMPRESSIVE. You can start the washer and lift the lid to see the water level which is one of the problems I had read about on newer washers. It does make a different sound when agitating than my much older machine did but it is not louder, just different and not in an unpleasant way in my opinion. It didn't take long for me to get used to the new sound. Best of all, it does a terrific job getting the laundry clean. The colors are bright, the whites are white, everything smells clean and fresh and they are spun out better than my old washer spun them. I have washed the bed linens and comforters (one full, one queen, separate loads) more than once and they easily fit in the washer, come out clean and fresh, spun well and no twisting, snagging or other problem that I've read some machines do. I have had this machine for 3 weeks now, it has gotten lots of use and I'm still just as impressed as I was with the first load. I only hope this GE washer lasts as long as my old one did.

My 27 year old Maytag couldn't be repaired due to its age :-( Asked the repairman for his recommenations...looked at what he suggested. Either I couldn't afford or didn't like the reviews of his suggestions. Then looked on Consumer Reports. This machine was listed so checked the reviews at both Best Buy and Home Depot. I liked what I read and decided to give it a try! I am very glad I did!! I do a lot of wash. This has surpassed my expectations :-) Can easily do Queen sized comforters. Has never been off balance, cleans spots great and is efficent. Some complained about noise, I don't hear it, to me it runs quietly. It has an agitator, which is what I was looking for, stainless steel drum and I prefer dials to buttons. The only button is to start the washing process. I got it on sale and purchased the maintenace agreement on it. For the price and size, I am thrilled beyond belief!! Thank you GE and Best Buy :-)

The washer is great only pitfall is that it's louder and can get off balance if not careful loading. Economical on Water Detergent and multiple settings are easy to use and provides all needed cycles and water levels in a basic washer. 3rd one of these we have purchased in last 20 years we use till they fall apart. Last note: Please keep it clean; the enamel paint will wear if detergent and cleaning agents are left in the lip of the Top. Learned the hard way.

This is a great washing machine from GE. I read the reviews and that helped me to make my choice as to which washing machine to purchase. The clothes come out clean every time and the spin cycle takes out the excess water which makes drying the clothes easier and quicker. As the reviews indicated, this machine's washing sounds are quite different from washing machines of the past. Once you have used the machine a few times it is easy to get used to its different sounds when washing and spinning the clothes. I especially like the delicate cycle feature on this machine, as well as the large capacity for washing blankets. The stainless steel interior is also nice.

Have had for one month. No problems, cleans good, low price, a little noisy, but not as loud as expected from other reviews. I can fit a lot of clothes and towels and the machine clears well. I bought this after having expensive Maytag and Bosch which only lasted a short time. I am trying out the basic model and have no regrets so far!

Had a washer that was probably 28 years old. these are so different. picked because i could control the water myself after reading reviews on the washers that sense loads to add water are tough on the plumbing. this washer fits that bill. it runs different than older washer but does clean well. sometime i don't understand it; such as getting the deep fill set up correctly if i wanted to wash a large load. to me when it fills to the max, just does not seem to be enough water but again new technology. so far i've been quite pleased with the quality and how this washes. does make more unusual sounds than old washer, but this does not really bother me. i did not want another computer, i just wanted a simple but good, dependable washer that i could adjust the water fill myself and found it in this washer. also per other reviews, delicate is VERY delicate; you can check for yourself and possibly use the casual setting; this is less vigorous than the normal wash cycle, but more than delicate as it's noted for casual or work type clothing. i use it more often; normal keep for sheets, towels etc. overall good washer.

I have had my GE washer for almost 5 years and I love it. After my experience with front loaders I am very happy to have a simple washing machine again. It cleans well and spins very well. The only thing I miss from my front loader was the timer telling me how many minutes I have left but I do ok without it. My neighbor was so impressed she bought one too.

We researched a lot of washers before we purchased this one. I wanted a top loader with an agitator like the old Kenmore Heavy Duty we were replacing. We frequently wash heavy quilts and doggie beds. These new High Efficiency washers make some strange sounds as it goes through its cycles, but by going to GE's website we were able to listen to the sounds before our purchase. Overall a very good washer, I would recommend it and you get used to the sounds.

We purchased for our lake trailer. We wanted a simple machine, top loader, large capacity for towels. Works well especially the spin which really takes water out and makes dryer more efficient. Only drawback is noise associates with agitator on wash cycle. Sounds like animal going through very hard labor! Getting a little better with a number of uses. Still works for us!

I'm so glad I purchased this washer! The body is small but the drum is huge! Before purchasing, I read many reviews and watched youtube videos. Many complained of noisiness which honestly, ITS NOT! It does make different sounds but nothing I think is concerning! It is SO MUCH BETTER than the one I had before. It was a Kenmore which was old and I bought from the owner of the house I purchase. Not only is it quiet but it doesn't dance across the floor like my old one. I think some reviews also complained about the spin cycle being loud, again I DO NOT AGREE because I think its fine. If you are delicate to sounds than this isn't for you but I am 100% satisfied with my washer and the price. I will say my only problem was when they initially installed it, that washer was a dud but Best buy took it back and ordered a new one and installed it when it came in, and it was hooked up in like 5 minutes and its worked every since!

I enjoy this washer because my clothes come out clean and still in good condition whereas my last washer didn’t do a great job. My only complaint is that it is pretty loud and goes off balance so you have to watch how much you fill it.
