The washer cycles gently, but this is to be expected according to the manual. The manual includes a link to the sound of the washer working correctly, which mine seems to. However, it doesn't actually clean soiled items. We have kids and pets. Clothes and items used to clean light messes come out stained. I've tried all cycles, including heavy and bulky items. We've ruined clothes in the 3 weeks we've owned this when we're wearing our clothes just to school and daycare. I would choose a different model if you have kids, pets, or have an active lifestyle.

Posted .Hello- Thank you for your feedback. We are glad that your washer is meeting your needs. We would like to share a little information about the lid lock feature. Starting in the year 2015, top-load washers feature a lid lock that engages when the washer is either load-sensing before and during the water fill or when it is spinning above 50 RPM. You cannot set the washer to lock the lid for the entire wash cycle. Models with the Precise Fill (load sensing) feature will lock during the load sensing period and during the spin cycle. Models without Precise Fill only lock during the spin cycle. (Your model doesn't have Precise Fill).
To unlock the lid:
Pausing the machine will allow you to open the lid.
During the spin cycle, pausing the washer does unlock the lid but for safety reasons you must wait until the basket has completely coasted down to a stop before the lid unlocks. Depending upon the speed at which the washer is spinning when it is paused (and depending on the size of the load being washed), it can take as much as 3 minutes to coast to a stop and then unlock.
If the lid will not unlock:
Make sure the washer is paused (press the Start/Pause button). During the spin cycle, this can take up to 3 minutes for the basket to stop spinning and allow you to open the lid.
