Hi there, and thanks for reaching out to us about this. We truly hate to hear you had an issue with your clothes being torn – we know that would always be frustrating, especially on the first wash. This isn’t the great ownership experience we want for you. We do have a troubleshooting section in the manual (which can be viewed on our GE website by looking up the model number and going to the product page); on page 25 there is a section that addresses possible causes for any snags, rips or tears. Among other steps, you may want to make sure any snaps, buttons or zippers are fastened, any bleach you use is diluted and any items that may have chemicals on them (such as hair dye) have been rinsed before washing. Making sure the washer isn’t overloaded may also help. Our team will be informed of your experience for future review and development; we appreciate hearing from you, as we always want to know about any possible areas of concern. Your concern over the wash time will also be reported. The manual does have information on the various cycle options, and may be helpful if you’d like to try a shorter wash cycle. Making sure the wash load isn’t overloaded and is distributed properly, and the water line isn’t restricted, can help if the cycle time seems longer than normal. We hope this information is helpful. Hi there, we're terribly sorry if your new washer and dryer aren't working as they should. We would never expect this for our consumers so we can only imagine how upsetting this would be. For the best help, we suggest contacting your local Best Buy directly. To have your appliances repaired, we recommend taking advantage of your warranty and scheduling service with a certified GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your appliance.
